Can I use this bar without screwing it into any wall? Or will physics keep it up during my workout?

Why would you complain about mounting brackets it to help from falling. this is a must have and has all the grips you need to do the workouts right. something you cant do with a tree branch like the other guy said.

Why get this Chin-Up Bar when you can get the Iron Gym eXtreme for so much cheaper and it does the exact same thing and is a HELL of alot cheaper

I can't believe that the chin-up bar requires a mounting bracket and more. You need tools and a few minutes to do it - but, one would think that a properly designed chin up bar would just be adjustable to attach by its own weight to a door frame. I have returned mine.

I was actually thinking about buying the iron gym chin up bar, but checked some reviews and a bunch of people said that the P90X Bar was more stable. My friend has that bar and when I received mine, I tried both to compare. The P90X bar is definitely heavier and more solid. I like how it also uses screwed in brackets for added safety. Some people want to be able to move the bar from door to door and don’t like the brackets, but honestly, I would rather keep it where I workout and not fall!

Put it this way, the very first workout you do for P90X is chest and back. So the first day you start you need to be using the pull up bar! It does what it's supposed to do. It's built well and has some rubber on it to help protect your door frame. Even if you cant do 1 single pull up at first, the video shows you how to use a chair to help you. I started off slow and moved my way up to doing normal pull ups without the chair. This thing is a serious part of p90x. PEACE!

Can you get by without the p90x chin up bar? Yeah you can. You can use that upgrade kit they sell and just do the band exercises attached to your door to do "pull ups." Is it anywhere near the type of results as the Chin Up Bar? Hell no! The reason I know this is because my good friend lives in a mobile home and his walls and door frames are not built like an actual house so he just can't use the Chin up Bar.

We started doing P90X at the SAME EXACT TIME he used the upgrade kit and bands to do pull ups, I used the P90x bar. You can see a HUGE difference in our upper body results. My back arms and chest is more defined than his. He was using the 50 pound black band which is the heaviest band you can buy and I still have more muscle definition than he does. If you can use it in your house go for the Chin Up Bar! Just read the specs on this page to make sure it works in your house.
