There is no question that the pull up is an excellent fitness move. Like pushups, chin ups are a timeless exercise that should forever have a place in your workouts. The vast majority of us, however, don’t have room for a standard chin up bar in our homes. For this reason, you may be interested in learning about possible chin up bar alternatives.
Finding a chin up bar alternative that provides you with the ability to get chin up results in the comfort of your own home is a reasonable request. The most obvious choice, then, would be to find a chin up bar alternative that allows for easy placement within a limited amount of space.
The P90X chin up bar provides a great alternative to the bulky in home towers sold by other companies. This door attachment pull up bar allows for easy mounting and simple removal when the bar is not in use. It provides all of the benefits of a full size chin up bar with less space and much easier portability and concealment.
Chin up bar alternatives simply have to deliver the same results as a pull up bar at the gym. Because pull ups work your chest, back, and arms, you want to ensure your chin up bar alternative is giving you those same benefits.
If you determine a door mounted chin up bar isn’t for you, consider a set of resistance bands. When combined with the door attachment like the one in our complete set of resistance bands or the upgrade kit, you can get similar results without lifting your entire body weight.
Think that’s the easy way out? Think again. A resistance bands pull up workout is a serious workout and will deliver great results. Those of you that have done some of the resistance bands workouts in P90X know exactly what I mean. When paired with a door attachment, those unassuming bands are real fitness tools.

Okay, we here at ExtremeBody Workout like resistance band exercises. No, it’s not only because we sell resistance bands but because we truly believe they are a great way to get fit. Their unassuming appearance often gets them overlooked by people serious about getting fit, and this is unfortunate.
Resistance band exercises can be as effective as dumbbell workouts. They offer an alternate way of getting fit in an inexpensive and convenient small package. Resistance bands like those that we have here, come in several “weights” or resistance levels. This allows you to get proper resistance for your workouts, similar to choosing the right dumbbells or plate settings at the gym.
Several of our workout systems use resistance band exercises. They don’t do this to sell resistance bands, they do this because resistance bands work! Whether you are looking at Ten Minute Trainer, ChaLEAN Extreme, or P90X, you will find people making radical body transformations with the use of resistance band exercises.
Aside from them being effective, resistance bands are far more portable than dumbbells. When’s the last time you tried carrying your weights on a plane or packing your home gym in your trunk? Resistance bands are easily stored and easily transported. Depending on your workplace, you could even fit a few resistance bands into your desk drawer for use throughout the day.
Resistance band exercises work on many levels, furthering your fitness goals and making it easy to step your workouts up to another level. Using resistance bands in your workout plan will get you serious results and do so at a minimal cost when compared with the alternatives.
The best resistance band exercises are those that you can adjust to meet your fitness needs. There really is a never ending number of options when working out with resistance bands. Check out any of our fitness programs for new resistance band moves and highly effective fitness training.

Women love lean thighs. Many of us consider our thighs to be a problem area, resistant to fat loss. If you ever feel your thighs rubbing together when you walk, you know exactly what I am talking about. Find a way to tone those muscles of the inner thigh in the comfort of your own home is actually quite simple. Working inner thighs with resistance bands is an easy accomplishment and a quick way to tone those muscles.
Here is a great video demonstration of a kick cross move for working inner thighs with resistance bands. The band is tethered to a weight machine here but you can use a table leg, bottom hinge on a door, or other heavy stationary object in your home.
The leg is swung slowly across the front of the body and returned to the starting position. When working inner thigh with resistance bands it is important that you get the right level of resistance. You may have to play with the band to determine which one to use and the amount of slack you need for the proper resistance.
A few of the programs we have here at ExtremeBody Workout shows good ways of working inner thighs with resistance bands. Both Ten Minute Trainer and P90X are great systems that utilize resistance bands in many of the strength training moves.
As this article from iVillage points out, however, working inner thigh with resistance bands won’t magically erase the fat you may have here. In that regard there is no such thing as spot reduction when it comes to fat. However, when paired with a healthy diet and full body fitness program, working inner thighs with resistance bands can tone those muscles to reveal nice definition as the weight is lost.

Kettlebells are all the rage right now. People are going out and buying these weighted balls like gangbusters. The unique looking fitness tools are not a new phenomenon, only new to the western world of exercise. In fact, kettlebells have been used for decades in weightlifting competitions and training around the world.
In the United States, common kettlebells are made with a soft plastic exterior, while traditional kettlebells maintain the classic iron cannon like appearance. The reason they are in demand is because people are convinced they work more muscles than traditional strength training. While lifting and moving with the kettlebells, everything from the arms and shoulders, through the core muscles are engaged.
Another reason kettlebells are appealing: they are relatively new to home fitness and mainstream training programs. The fitness world is plagued with gimmicks and fads. Kettlebells are likely very effective when used in a regular fitness program. They offer a new route to strength training and this unique approach is appealing.
Although kettlebells are unique and quite popular, we contend that resistance bands offer many of the same benefits in a more convenient package. As you would see from the P90X workouts or the Turbo Jam routines, resistance bands provide adjustable levels of resistance training that, like kettlebells, require you to engage muscles throughout the entire range of motion.
The major difference between kettlebells and resistance bands, however, is convenience. Similar to dumbbells, kettlebells take up a lot of room and are quite costly. While you may be able to get away with only owning a few pairs initially, as your strength grows so must your collection of equipment, causing you to continually spend in order to consistently make improvements.
Like dumbbells, kettllebells are far from portable. If you move to a new apartment, of course, moving your kettlebells isn’t a big deal, relatively. However, if you are going on vacation or want to take your workouts on your next business trip, nothing beats the portability of resistance bands. Resistance bands easily fit in a suitcase and stash away in your home when not in use.
There is no question that kettlebells provide a good strength training workout. Weighing your options and the benefits of each type of resistance training requires that you not get caught up in the hype. Resistance bands can also give you an excellent workout at a fraction of the price and with much more convenience.

You’re on a business trip or away on vacation and want to stick with your fitness program. Sure, some of the better hotels have their own gyms but what if you’re not the gym rat type? What if you would rather do a workout in your room just like you do when you’re at home? We know how it feels because many of us here at ExtremeBody Workout also prefer to workout where we are comfortable. The good news is we carry several options that make for a great hotel workout DVD.
Unless you are a big timer that gets to stay in the presidential suite wherever you go, you’re going to want a hotel workout DVD that doesn’t require too much space. You can’t hardly dance around and do much kicking in most hotel rooms. If you are living the good life and have plenty of floor space, there are really no restrictions on which workout system you choose. Just make sure you save the Plyometrics workouts for ground floor rooms unless you want a noise complaint from the front desk.
Ten Minute Trainer could be the perfect hotel workout DVD. It uses minimal space and allows you to customize your workout. Typically when you are staying in a hotel your schedule isn’t completely free of restrictions. You may have activities planned or meetings throughout the day. 10 Minute Trainer allows you to decide how long you want your workout to be and go from there. With DVD workouts in ten minute increments, you can do as little or as much as you have time for.
Another good quality of 10 Minute Trainer that makes it an appropriate hotel workout DVD is the fact that it doesn’t use any big or cumbersome equipment. The most you will need to have with you for 10 Minute Trainer is a set of resistance bands. Because resistance bands are highly portable and lightweight, you can fit them just about anywhere. Lastly, 10 Minute Trainer doesn’t require a lot of space. You can get a high quality workout by simply moving a chair out of the way or cleverly using the space you have in your hotel room.
When you leave your home behind, you don’t have to leave your fitness program. By using a fitness system that is also an appropriate hotel workout DVD, you can continue to reach your fitness goals while you are on the road.

Strength training with free weights is a great addition to any fitness program. Because a good training program relies on both strength training and cardio exercise, free weight workouts are a great option. Similar to resistance bands, free weight workouts help you to build muscle and get toned. They allow a great amount of flexibility in options as you are only limited by the free weights in your home gym.
Using free weights to build muscle is nothing new. Before all of the fancy weight machines were in gyms, everyone used free weights. They are back to basics and give a seriously good opportunity for getting fit. Free weight workouts allow you to choose the level of resistance right for you and the move you are doing and progress to heavier weights as you gain strength and abilities.
Free weight workouts are commonly found on fitness DVD’s. One only needs to watch one of the P90X workouts to know that free weights can be used in a variety of ways. Similarly, ChaLEAN Extreme uses free weights to build muscle and burn fat.
One problem with free weights, and there aren’t many, is their bulkiness and cost. Not many people have a room in their home to dedicate solely to fitness. Free weights do take up a lot of room. As you gain strength you have to expand your collection to match your abilities. This negative attribute of free weight workouts may lead some people to look at other options.
When considering a free weight workout, you may want to look at resistance bands as another option. You can do the same moves but with much better portability and at a lower cost. While free weight workouts are the original strength training solution, resistance bands offer a good choice for people looking for something a little smaller and easier managed.

They work similarly to using weights in that they provide resistance to typical exercise moves. The difference is they are highly portable, take up less space, and are far more affordable.
A resistance band workout without weights will get you the same results as a strength training workout with weights can. One look at the P90X, ChaLEAN Extreme or 10 Minute Trainer programs and you can see the effectiveness of these workouts without weights.
These DVD fitness programs each show you how to get the same results with resistance bands rather than weights. This means you can get the same quality P90X workout, for instance, without weights as you can using the traditional hand weights.
Trainer Tony Horton endorses the use of resistance bands in a strength training workout without weights. These bands come in a variety of resistance levels created to provide you with just the correct amount for your strength training needs.
You don’t have to sacrifice quality when getting a strength training workout without weights. Resistance bands make this a possibility.

Resistance bands have been used for quite some time. They are not a breakthrough product anymore but they can still get you over plateaus and into new jeans. Resistance bands exercise dvds are a dime a dozen, but many of them are quite effective. The redeeming qualities of resistance bands make them an easy addition to your home gym and a powerful fitness tool.
Resistance bands are highly portable. This means once you have committed yourself to resistance bands exercise dvds and know your program, you can take it with you, wherever you go. Whether on vacation or staying at a relative’s home, you can get your workout it without anyone really knowing. Vacation no longer has to be an excuse for falling off the fitness wagon.
Many resistance bands exercise dvds are on the market and many of them do the trick. However only the best home fitness programs have options for both resistance bands and free weights, making your choices wider and your workout opportunities more varied.
P90X is the extreme resistance bands exercise dvds. This program contains 12 DVDs of life changing workouts. All of the strength training dvds have resistance band options. Learn how to use your resistance bands to get the same workout as using a pull-up bar, or free weights. Resistance bands are versatile and making major body changes with them is quite simple with P90X.
Another great in the world of resistance bands exercise DVDs is the new ChaLEAN Extreme. Strength training with resistance bands isn’t new to the fitness world. Why, then do they still occasionally get a bad rap. I assume people think because they aren’t heavy like weights they can’t get the same workout with them. Or they think those pretty colored soft bands are made for people that aren’t as serious about getting muscle definition. This is a common misconception and one that has been proven wrong time and time again.
Resistance bands offer a great tool for getting fit and building muscle. They do this in a way that is convenient and even portable. While resistance bands might not look as tough as free weights, it only takes one good workout with them to see that strength training with resistance bands can be seriously effective.
Using resistance bands can show you just how wrong these misconceptions about them were. One great extra that resistance bands offer is equal resistance on both the engaging and disengaging of muscles. What I mean is when you do a bicep curl, for instance, you are working against the band to curl your arm up. But, you also fight the urge to have your arm swing back to the starting position, again engaging your muscles on the descent. Strength training with resistance bands can offer a great workout.
Unlike free weights, you can take your resistance bands on flights, in your car, and even keep a set in your desk drawer. Try putting a set of hand weights in your carry on when you travel and see how far you get! Strength training with resistance bands offers convenience and portability unmatched by hand weights.
Both P90X and ChaLEAN Extreme offer alternate examples for those people who choose to use resistance bands. Getting an intense workout is as easy as following the examples and working hard. Strength training with resistance bands is certain to give you major results with either of these two serious fitness programs.

It is a common misconception that resistance bands aren’t as effective as hand weights. People who believe this obviously haven’t tried using resistance bands and used them correctly. As you will see in ChaLEAN Extreme, high quality resistance bands when used correctly can offer results directly comparable with hand weights.
One of the first things you will notice when you do ChaLEAN Extreme is there is always someone on the DVD’s using resistance bands rather than weights. This is so that those of us who would rather not deal with lugging around hand weights know exactly how to get the same great workout. Throughout the workouts, Chalene makes a point to remind you that resistance bands will give you a good workout and will work your muscles the way you need them to.
High quality resistance bands come in a variety of resistance levels, ensuring that you always have the weight you need for every move. With someone on the ChaLEAN Extreme workouts showing you resistance band adaptations throughout, you are sure to get the same workout as those using handweights.
With ChaLEAN Extreme you are expected to “lift heavy” and lift slow. This means don’t be afraid to use a higher resistance with your bands. In order to get the same results, you want the same effort as with hand weights. Keep an eye on the adaptations as shown on the workouts and you will be certain to gain excellent results with the ChaLEAN Extreme system.
