We wouldn’t need to take vitamins or protein if we got all of the nutrients we need from out diet every day. This, unfortunately isn’t always possible. Okay, it’s rarely possible. When you consider the recommended allowances of vitamins and minerals, you are likely falling short in many areas. Pair that with the protein requirements of P90X and it becomes difficult to ensure you are getting what you need. P90X supplements are created to assist you with this hassle.

When putting together a line of supplements, Tony Horton spared nothing with this line-up.

You are making huge changes in your lifestyle as you embark on the P90X program. Ensuring you are getting the proper nutrition is not only important for your results, but also to ensure you are as healthy as possible. P90X supplements are able to fill in the gaps, completing your daily nutrition so that your body can perform optimally whether doing Plyometrics or working at your desk.

Everyone needs to take a multivitamin. Making up for the deficiencies in your daily diet is simple when you select the P90X Peak Health Formula. These vitamins come in daily packs, making it easy to get your vitamins in one shot. The P90X supplement family isn’t complete without this health staple.

A huge member of the P90X supplements group is the Recovery Drink. You will hear Tony mention this product throughout the workouts. It is an excellent post workout drink, designed to replenish your body with proteins, carbohydrates, and antioxidants.

The protein bars and Whey Protein powders are both great ways to up your protein intake for the day. Many people aren’t used to the high protein recommendations on the P90X Nutrition Plan. With these P90X supplements, however, it is made a whole lot easier. As a snack or breakfast both the bars and the shakes are a great way to get your muscle building protein in.

If you are looking for extra help with weight loss, the P90X supplements answer is the P90X Slimming Formula. This product is made with all natural ingredients to speed your metabolism and curb your appetite, making results easy to see and motivation easy to find.

Both Core Omega 3 and Herbal Immune Boost also offer great benefits to people embarking on the P90X plan. Encouraging overall health through supplementation, P90X supplements do what many other formulas cannot.

Be certain to check out some of the supplements as you begin your P90X experience. Protein supplements and the P90X Recovery Drink are highly recommended as you get started with the program.

You may be struggling to finish some of the workouts, especially in the first few weeks. It’s this time, right after your workout, that the P90X recovery drink can work its nutritional magic. You may need some serious recovery help after your P90X workouts and the P90X recovery drink was designed with these intense workouts in mind.

Immediately following an intense workout like P90X, your body is ready to be replenished. You have worked hard and depleted your glycogen stores. Your muscles have experienced trauma and are ripe for the healing and growth power of perfectly proportioned nutrients. After these workouts, your body needs a lot more than to be hydrated with water (although that’s good too!)

The P90X recovery drink contains the perfect formula of carbohydrates and proteins to help replenish your energy and heal your tissues. It also contains a great balance of vitamins and antioxidants to encourage overall health. It is said that the hour following a workout is the hour you should pump these nutrients into your body because your body is most prepared to absorb them and make them work for you, helping you achieve your fitness goals.

All of these benefits in a shake that actually tastes good! The P90X recovery drink does what only the best post-workout formula can. It helps to repair and grown muscles, replenish your energy and glycogen stores, and washes over your body with vitamins and antioxidants to promote serious overall health. The P90X recovery drink is recommended for everyone beginning the P90X program as its formula is unmatched and designed specifically for this intense program.

Unlike a basic post-workout snack, recovery drinks are designed to maximize the benefits of your workouts by speeding up the recovery process that happens in the hours following. To truly understand the purpose of recovery drinks and why you should incorporate them into your fitness program, a little science lesson is in order.

What Happens During Exercise?

When you exercise several things are going on inside your body. First, you are burning calories and your body is accessing glycogen stores for energy. Glycogen, made up of glucose (sugars) is stored in muscles and created with the help of insulin. Coincidentally, insulin levels also decrease immediately following exercise.

In addition to glycogen depletion and insulin reduction, your muscles are experiencing trauma. Slight tears occur in your muscle proteins. After your workout, your body begins to repair your muscles through protein synthesis. Through these repairs your muscles are strengthened and fortified, similar to patching a hole in your jeans, or reinforcing steel with welds. This process of tearing down and repairing is what accounts for muscle growth.

How does the recovery drink help?

Science has shown that a recovery drink can speed the time it takes your body to “recover” from these effects of exercise. A recovery drink seeks to do two things: replace glucose to aid in the production of glycogen, and speed protein synthesis by increasing insulin and amino acids (proteins that make up the building blocks of muscles).

Drinking a nutritious recovery drink within an hour of exercise can help your body replace energy stores, prevent sore muscles, and even increase muscle mass through the protein synthesis process. A good recovery drink should consist of vitamins, protein, and a good balance of carbohydrates (both simple and complex).

A quality recovery drink is important in any fitness regime, particularly following intense workouts. Check out our recovery drink , the P90X Peak Recovery Formula, designed specifically for the P90X system, an incredibly intense exercise system.
