What To Do if P90X Doesn’t Work

So you’ve started P90X and you aren’t seeing results. Well, you may not be completely alone but you certainly aren’t the average P90X-er. P90X was made to deliver results, and it does consistently. If you put everything you’ve got into this program it will work. Point blank. But, if you aren’t seeing the results you want, perhaps it’s time to take a closer look at what you are doing. If P90X doesn’t work, perhaps you need to make some changes.

P90X addresses one of the most important concerns of modern fitness programs. That is, it includes both a tough workout program and a smart nutritional plan. Using one without the other simply doesn’t work. Sure, you could see some initial results but those results won’t last and they won’t be nearly as dramatic. If your P90X doesn’t work, the first thing you must address is whether or not you are following it as directed.

When people complain (and there aren’t very many) that they aren’t getting the results they want with P90X it is largely due to them not following the nutritional plan. It’s hard to change old habits and when you are busy with a career, family, and a workout program, finding the time to create healthy meals can be difficult. BUT, if you want major results, you have to fuel your body correctly. Without proper fuel, you won’t see results and you certainly won’t feel your best as you work through these tough workouts.

Also, if P90X doesn’t work for you, check to make sure you are following the workouts correctly. Muscle confusion doesn’t work if you don’t follow the P90X calendar. Again, this workout program was designed in a specific manner to get you the best results possible. But in order to see those results, you have to follow the program as it was intended. This includes doing the workouts in the order that they are recommended. You can’t do Kenpo X every single day just because it’s your favorite and expect to see jaw-dropping results, it simply won’t happen. Sure, you might drop a size or tone up your legs, but you will not achieve the body of your dreams.

P90X is a fitness program that has experienced unmatched success. If you find that P90X doesn’t work, you need to get real honest with yourself and double check that you are really “bringing it”. Chances are, if you dedicate yourself wholly to this program, you will begin to see the results you are really after.

What It Takes to Make P 90 X Work

You already know P90X is going to require some seriously tough effort. If you expect dramatic results, you will have to put in the work. P 90 X is a great system that gives you everything you need to achieve your fitness goals—from the workouts themselves to the Nutrition Plan, the only need to add is your tenacity and determination. When you truly Bring It—you’ll find it takes little more than a conscious effort and true desire to make a change in your life.

So, does it take extra equipment and supplements to make P 90 X work? Not at all. Sure, there are products that may enhance the P90X process, but there really aren’t any required additions. You could go all out, purchasing a new set of high quality resistance bands or a 90 day supply of the P90X Results and Recovery Formula. And these two things in particular could add a lot to your end results. But are they required to make the program work? Not at all.

When you make a decision to get in shape, it’s an all or nothing decision. We’ve all made half-assed commitments before and they always have half-assed results. You can’t sort-of decide to kind-of do P 90 X. You must make a firm decision to make this program a part of your life for at least the next 90 days. If you do this, and follow through with the action that shows your commitment, you’ll find yourself completely transformed within 3 months.

For many people, the most difficult part of making P 90 X work is finding the time to do the workouts. With a little bit of advanced planning, this doesn’t have to be a problem. If you are a busy person, you’ll have to schedule your workouts like you would schedule any other appointment. Finding time to take care of your body is important whether you are doing P90X or if you are nursing a cold. You have to decide to make YOU a priority.

One thing that does help in making this system a success is support. Tell people about your goals. Post your workouts on Facebook or start a blog. When you are accountable to someone, even if that someone is a potential blog reader or social network friend, you are far less likely to skip a workout or back down on your goals.

The P90X program is designed to help you succeed. Beachbody has created a system that contains everything you need to reach your fitness goals—all you need to do is add commitment and hard work. So, are you ready to BRING IT?

How P90X Works Inside the Human Body

When you commit to a fitness program, you want to know it’s going to work. Obviously, effectiveness is one of the key selling points of any workout system. But understanding how a program works inside the human body can give you a greater knowledge base of why it is you are doing what you’re doing and why some programs work better than others.

P90X works inside the human body like many of the best athletic training programs. It works by sculpting muscle, burning fat, fine tuning your cardiovascular system, and helping you to simply get healthier and happier. But knowing that it does these things isn’t like knowing how it all happens.

Inside the human body, muscle is created through strength and resistance training. Everytime you do a weight workout or a P90X resistance workout your muscles experience tiny tears and trauma (that’s why you’re sore!). The human body and the miraculous machine that it is, goes to work on these tears, healing them. It’s in this healing process that you get stronger and your muscles eventually grow. By helping you to select the right levels of resistance along with the right recovery, P90X encourages muscle building inside the human body.

Fat is burned through a few different processes. First, your metabolism increases as the amount of muscle you carry increases. Muscle needs more fuel than fat to survive. In this way, P90X increases your metabolism (fat burning process) by increasing muscle mass. In addition, you can burn calories directly through cardio work. The P90X series has several high quality cardio workouts to help facilitate this burn.

Finally, the P90X program makes significant changes inside the human body by changing what it is you use for fuel. By eliminating highly processed, high fat, and unhealthy foods, you are giving your body the equivalent of premium fuel, helping it to run more efficiently and increasing the results you see from the P90X workouts.

The entire P90X system was created to help you achieve some pretty ambitious fitness goals. It can only do this with your cooperation and a solid, well rounded program. Strength training, cardio, and nutrition are brought together cohesively in this program to create a highly effective tool for weight loss, muscle building, and overall fitness. There’s nothing you need to add to this program but determination—no additional workouts or diet strategies—it’s all here.

Fitting In Your P90X Workouts

Picking up a new habit requires dedication and commitment. When that new habit involves a fitness program like P90X, it also requires hard work. One of the greatest challenges for people, it seems, comes in fitting the P90X workouts into their daily lives. We commonly hear people say they don’t have time to work out. Too often, however, we realize that it isn’t a lack of time but a lack of prioritization that keeps people from fitting their workouts in. You see, we all have the same 24 hours and it’s how we prioritize our lives that determines what we do or do not have time for.

If you are concerned about making time for your P90X workouts, at least you are aware ahead of time that the program will take a certain amount of sacrifice. As you are thinking about what things you may have to sacrifice in order to have time for the P90X workouts, recall why it is you’re doing this program in the first place. Surely you’ll find that your fitness goals and motivations are worthy of a little schedule rearranging.

The P90X program includes several different workouts. Some of these are as short at 35 minutes, though most are closer to an hour long. The P90X workouts include: Chest & Back, Plyometrics, Shoulders & Arms, Yoga X, Kenpo X, Legs & Back, X Stretch, Core Synergistics, Back & Biceps, Ab Ripper, Cardio X, and Chest, Shoulders & Triceps. The program comes with a calendar so you’ll know which workout to do which day. Your job is figuring out how to fit it in.

Take a look at your current daily schedule. What things are negotiable? What things do you see as being slightly less important than getting in shape? Perhaps you can stop watching an hour of television each night or get up an hour earlier in the morning. Changing an old habit can be difficult as it’s likely something you’ve become comfortable with. But when you analyze your fitness goals, your P90X workouts are likely to be more important than any primetime sitcom.

The P90X workouts have the potential to change your life. You could walk away at the end of 90 days not only looking better with less fat and better muscle tone, but feeling better with a higher confidence and greater general health. When it’s time to make time for these workouts, you need to ask yourself what’s most important and then reprioritize things to reflect that.

Updating Your P90X Fitness Goals

Hopefully by now, we all understand the importance of fitness goals. They are absolutely crucial in achieving fitness success. You might lose some weight without them but goals light the way and provide unbeatable motivation and support as you work towards getting the body you’ve always wanted.

P90X and most good workout programs, for that matter, have you set goals before you even begin. These goals aren’t just something to pull out of the air; they are something that deserves considerable thought. Maybe you want to lose 10 pounds, or 5 inches on your waist, or maybe your ultimate goal is fitting into a favorite pair of jeans that make your butt look amazing! Whatever the case, your fitness goals should be uniquely your own, something that will motivate you to put forth your best effort day in and day out.

But what happens when you have set your P90X fitness goals, gotten a good start on the program and realized that the goals you set aren’t quite right? Maybe you are exceeding your expectations and you see your goals will be achieved long before the 90 day program is up. You might also find that your goals were unrealistic, and you are setting yourself up for failure if you continue in pursuit of these lofty achievements.

Your P90X fitness goals are important and if you find the ones you originally set aren’t working out, you simply have to update them!

Your goals are not set in stone and like most aspects of your fitness plan, they have to be flexible. We can’t always foresee how a fitness program like P90X will affect us. When you initially set your P90X goals, you were unsure of what to expect. You didn’t know if you would have results like the people you saw on the infomercials or if you would have to work twice as hard for half the results. Either way, you were a little off and that’s okay. It’s not too late to reevaluate and rewrite those goals.

Take your time and change your goals. Make them realistic but don’t make them too easy. Now that you’ve started the P90X program and likely have begun to see some results, you are in a better place to make achievable and challenging P90X goals!

Staying Motivated With P90X

Many people begin workout programs like P90X. But fewer people actually finish them. While this could be due to a variety of reasons, usually, there is no legitimate excuse. Sure, people will say they didn’t have the time. But the truth is, they simply didn’t make the time. They might also say they simply could find the motivation. While I stand by my opinion that motivation is overrated, it can really help people along in reaching their fitness goals. Even with a system like P90X, motivation can mean the difference between a skipped workout and a productive workout.

Staying motivated with P90X isn’t really that difficult. One of the great things about this program is that your daily workouts are constantly changing. Gone are the days of doing a workout program and recycling the same video day after day after day. Not only are you not using the same DVD every day, you aren’t even using the same workout approach. The level of diversity in the P90X program ensures you don’t get bored.

Motivation is a level of excitement or anticipation you feel before and during a workout. It’s often the thing that means the difference between a good workout and a great workout. It’s definitely related to your energy level and the dedication you have towards your fitness goals. But motivation isn’t always there and sometimes we have to move forward without it.

Though motivation is not a requirement, it can certainly make your workouts more fun and possibly even more productive. Goal setting is one way to stay motivated. Both short and long term goals can keep you working towards something throughout the week and throughout all 90 days of the P90X workout program.

Another motivation booster involves visualization. Spend a few moments each day visualizing the results you want. See yourself in your favorite outfit or a brand new outfit. Imagine how it feels to reach your goals, being slimmer and more toned. Think about how this will affect your day to day life, your confidence level, and your mood. Visualization like this is very powerful in keeping you focused on the end results and keeping you motivated for every P90X workout.

There’s really no limit to what might motivate you on P90X. The infomercial is a great motivational tool, as are message boards and blogs that discuss the P90X system. When you find yourself feeling particularly motivated, ask yourself what it is that helped get you to that point. Recreating your motivation on a daily basis doesn’t have to be difficult.

Does P90X Really Work for Everyone?

I mean, it can’t work for everyone right? While many people question the effectiveness of P90X in relation to everyone, they really only need to focus on whether it would work for them. After all, you aren’t trying to get everyone fit, just yourself, right? The fact is, P90X is a highly effective program that can work for anyone that’s willing to put forth the effort and make it a priority. Does P90X really work? Absolutely!

So how does P90X really work? Well, the people at Beachbody and Tony Horton created this program to be the first of its kind. Since its release, others have come and gone but P90X remains the premium 90 day program for a complete fitness makeover. It works using what’s called muscle confusion. This simply means your body will be consistently challenged and have to continuously adjust to the programs changing approaches. How does this help? It eliminates weight loss plateaus and keeps you on a steady climb towards your fitness goals.

So who doesn’t P90X really work for? We find that the only people who are unhappy with P90X are those that weren’t all that serious about such a serious program in the first place. This isn’t a workout program that you can just pick up every once in a while and get in a quick 20 minute workout. This is an entire fitness regimen, meant to last at least 90 days. It requires serious dedication and commitment. If you are not committed, it won’t work for you. But that’s not saying anything about the quality of P90X, merely your fitness ambitions.

P90X works for men and women of all ages. People who are athletic and people who have 25 pounds or more to lose have found success with P90X. Does P90X really work seems like a silly question when you look at all of the people who have found their weight loss dreams a reality with this program. It works for all kinds of people in all walks of life. It can even work for you.

If you’re still unsure of whether or not P90X is the right system for you and if it truly works, check out some of the consumer reviews we have on our P90X product page. Many people have weighed in on their experiences with the program and how the system has helped them achieve the body they’ve always wanted.
