Choosing a P90X Workout Plan

P90X is a revolutionary workout program. It’s created to give you dramatic results, pairing smart workouts with superior nutrition. This isn’t some lose weight fast gimmick or thrown-together workout plan, it’s a high quality fitness program. One of the many benefits of it is the flexibility it allows. Both in the Nutrition Plan and in the workouts, there is some level of customization with P90X.

The P90X workout plan has three different approaches: Classic, Lean, and Doubles. Choosing which one is right for you shouldn’t be difficult. More than likely, once you finish your first 90 days, you’ll be motivated to try another approach—so don’t think this first choice is the only chance you’ll have.

P90X Classic: This is the most popular choice. The P90X workout plan that most people go with is the Classic approach. This is P90X as it was originally intended. The calendar for the Classic approach will ensure you hit no plateaus as it moves from workout to workout, consistently challenging you. With this approach you get the proper balance of cardio and strength training to ensure both toning and fat loss.

P90X Lean: Though this is appropriate for anyone, many women opt for the P90X Lean approach. This particular P90X workout plan focuses a little more on cardio. Though there is some resistance training with this calendar, there’s far less than with the Classic approach. Here your primary focus will be on fat burning.

P90X Doubles: This P90X workout plan is the most challenging. It’s recommended you wait for your second 90 days to try this. But, if you are already in great shape, the Doubles approach might just be what you need. You will double up your workouts with this calendar and your results will no doubt be multiplied too!

The P90X workout plan allows for you to choose which approach is most appropriate for your needs. The Nutrition Plan also allows for customization. In creating this system, Beachbody and Tony Horton wanted to make success as accessible as possible and they understood we all have different needs. Allowing people to make slight changes in the program to meet their individual needs is just one way in which P90X continues to be one of the best home workout programs of all time!

Is P90X For Women Too?

It blows my mind that people would ask the above question, wondering is P90X for women, but they do. So, I’m here to make it clear that P90X is for women as much as it is for men. Mostly, it’s for people regardless of gender, who want to make a positive change in their life. It’s not the easiest program but barring a physician’s restriction, there’s no reason this program isn’t for women.

P90X for women has the potential to give a woman the fitness model body she’s always wanted. It gives women the opportunity to get incredibly sculpted and lean in the comfort of their own home. P90X for women (and men) is a superior quality fitness program that goes way beyond a traditional daily workout and provides an avenue by which to reach fitness greatness.

I assume people wonder if P90X is for women because it’s considered a highly challenging workout system. I guess these people don’t believe women are capable of such a feat. However, what they will realize after watching the P90X infomercial or reading through the reviews we have from our customers, there are many women who have achieved amazing success with P90X and you could be the next.

Some women prefer using the P90X Lean Approach. This is a P90X calendar created to specifically focus on fat burning and cardio. It doesn’t have quite the number of resistance training workouts as the Classic Approach and throws in more Kenpo, Cardio X, and Plyometrics instead. Whether this is considered P90X for women or if the Classic approach is, it’s more a matter of preference and less a matter of gender appropriate workouts.

As a matter of fact, some women prefer the P90X Doubles Approach. This is a serious fitness undertaking no matter what your gender, however, so it’s one to be undertaken after serious consideration and perhaps after an initial 90 days with the Classic Approach.

P90X is for women. P90X is for men. P90X is for anyone who is serious about getting in the best shape of their life. It isn’t a matter of whether you wear dresses or pants and is instead a matter of how much effort you are willing to put forth in pursuit of your goals!

What happens after p90x day 90

Throughout the P90X program, you are likely thinking ahead to the end of the 90 days with hopefulness and excitement. You know that if you give this program your all, you will see an amazing sight in the mirror on that fateful day. What you may not have thought too much about, however, is what happens after P90X day 90. You can’t sit back and enjoy the results for too long without maintaining them. This isn’t like a project you achieve and then quit at the ninety day mark. No, those results won’t maintain themselves. This is why it pays to have a plan in place when that final day comes around.

For ninety days you have worked like crazy. You have baptized the floor with your sweat and likely grunted so loud it scared the family pet. You’ve had days where you weren’t sure you would make it through the workout and even days when you wanted more after the workout was done. You’ve struggled and you’ve succeeded. Now what? Now you get to enjoy the body you’ve created and also come up with a new goal! P90X Day 90 provides you with the opportunity to build 90 days of greatness once again.

Many people finish P90X and immediately start it over. They know that the program still maintains some level of challenge for them that they don’t necessarily want to stop. Following P90X day 90 with P90X day 1 is a fine plan and a plan that can maintain your existing results while improving upon them. Perhaps, however, you aren’t feeling as challenged with the P90X program as you were in the beginning. If that’s the case, doing P90X Doubles is a great way to use the same system for another level of challenges.

Another option for after P90X day 90 is to follow it with P90X Plus. P90X Plus is designed as a follow up to the original P90X. This program is the next step in P90X fitness. It includes 5 new workouts that will bring the level of challenge right back up. If you were getting used to the P90X workouts before, these P90X Plus workouts will give you just what you need.

The best advice we can give you is don’t stop with P90X day 90! Don’t let all that hard work go to waste. Continue to challenge your body and be continuously impressed with its response!

P90X Approaches: Doubles Approach

Doubles is for those who want extra cardio on top of the standard Classic Approach, either for performance of for weight loss. Those attempting Doubles should be completely injury free and have plenty of energy to add another workout to the schedule three or four days per week.

The P90X workouts are approximately 1hr (1 DVD) each day, 6 days a week, with the 7th day being a day or rest or optionally X Stretch. Please see the breakdown below. Feel free to preview the video descriptions of each workout on the P90X product page here:
