For everyone out there who’s still on the fence about the P90X Exercise System, I wanted to write this next series of posts to give you a closer look at some of the finer details. Lets take a peak behind the curtain and look at some of the actual P90X Exercises themselves. We’ll be exploring what are in my opinion the top moves from the 12 unique, P90X exercise DVDs that are part of the system. We’ll be looking at the good the bad and the UGLY! That’s right some of these moves are downright beasts. The First P90X exercise in the line up comes form Disc #1 Chest & Back:

The Dive Bomber Push-Up

For me this is one of THE most intense P90X Exercises in the Chest & Back line up. Here’s how it’s done:

You’re going to start off in what’s called a “Downward Dog” Position as per the first pic above. You’ll want to make sure your hands and feet are set wide. You will then move into the “Upward Dog” position. As you’re doing this Tony Horton (the personal trainer who guides you through the P90X exercises) likes to have you think of this as going under a fence. To do so correctly and with good form, you want the entire motion to be very fluid in the transition. Once you go under in a forward motion you then go under the fence in reverse to return to the Downward Dog position. Seems easy but it’s one heck of an exercise! I do about 6-8 with good form so far. It really seems to engage a lot of muscles. You’re definitely working the chest, arms and even the legs to some degree to maintain balance and form.

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s top P90X exercise as we dig into Disc #2, Plyometrics and take look at a killer move called Jump Knee Tuck!

If you’ve heard about P90X and have had a chance to check out some the recommended accessories, then you’ve probably stumbled upon the P90X Push Up Stands by now. Are they an absolute necessity to complete the program…no, but lets take a look at why P90X Push Up Stands are a great option to consider. There are 2 MAJOR benefits to be had with the P90X Push Up Stands:

1.) Extend Your Range of Motion

While standard push ups are great, P90X Push Up Stands actually extend your range of motion. You can dip down deeper and push back up further, essentially maximizing each and every rep you do. If you want more results faster this is reason enough.

2.) Reduce Wrist Tension

Some of us unfortunately get wrist “tweaks” when doing push ups normally. Others just simply have wrist issues to begin with. The P90X Push Up Stands actually help minimize wrist tension issues by having you grip the handles. I have a friend who has been an auto mechanic for years and he has wrist issues from working on cars. I’d imagine a lot of turning and tightening of bolts and such. Whatever the reasons, when he started P90X he found right away that the Push Up Stands really did deliver on this promise and he doesn’t perform the workouts without them now.

The P90X workout plan has more than 2 million followers to date. Why are so many people into the program? Well the short answer is, it works! But lets get into the details here to see why the P90X workout plan is so popular.

The P90X workout plan has more than 2 million followers to date. Why are so many people into the program? Well the short answer is, it works! But lets get into the details here to see why the P90X workout plan is so popular.

1.) The P90X workout plan can be done in the comfort of your own home. This is a huge plus. There are a lot of us out there including myself who simply do not want to make the commute to the gym. I personally hate the inconvenience, not to mention I don’t want to pay the monthly fees and on top of that I save a lot of time in my schedule not having to even get in the car to do my workout. People like working out at home it just makes life easier.

2.) The P90X workout plan is actually fun. One of the main reasons P90X is so effective is that it focuses on the concept of “Muscle Confusion” in a nutshell it throws in a ton of different exercises from many different schools of physical fitness. Not only does it push the body to keep getting results but hey variety is the spice of life. The simple fact that I don’t have to do the same old routine over the course of the 90 day program makes the P90X workout plan a lot more interesting. A lot of people fail to continue working out because it becomes monotonous. This isn’t the case with P90X and it makes a HUGE difference for people like me.

3.) The P90X Workout Plan has a strong focus on your diet as well as your physical fitness. What makes the program so popular is that it has you covered on the workouts as well as what you eat. I don’t mind cooking but to be honest, like a lot of people I really don’t know how to make 100% healthy meals. The P90X Nutrition Guide holds your hand through the whole process. You get full meals mapped out for you from breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even snacks. It makes eating healthy practically a no brainer.

People often ask me “does p90x work?” and I always give them the same answer… absolutely. If you give a 100% during your workouts and you follow the nutrition guide you should feel some positive changes in as little as a week. You might not see a huge change in the mirror but don’t fret because if you stick with it you’ll notice (and so will others) some radical improvements in as little as 3 – 4 weeks.

While looking around on Google for the term does p90x work, I came across Shelly’s Journal. She posted about this very topic, does p90x work, back in July when she was at her half way point. She gave a very thorough review that I suggest you check out. According to her she says that for p90x to work really depends on your level of commitment. If you’re willing to change your diet and work through the hard workouts then you’ll be glad you did and the answer to your question – does p90x work? – will be yes.

Shelley finished the p90x in August, I recommend reading her day 90 review as well.

Does p90x work? If you’ve completed or are currently doing the P90X please tell me what you think.

Man boobs or “moobs” as some like to call them are usually associated with those guys who are either overweight or deconditioned according to Jay Dawes, education director at the National Strength and Conditioning Association. As some might think, the best way to combat man boobs is to work out the chest.

However, while this will strengthen and build the pectoral muscles it is not going to be the end all solution. If there is a lot of fat covering these muscles all the bench-presses and push-ups in the world won’t get rid of those man boobs.

Home workouts like P90X have a strong focus on working out the pecs. One of the primary routines is “Chest & Back” but the important element to keep in mind is that your workout routine needs to incorporate cardio, and P90X does this flawlessly. While strength training is important, if you want to rid yourself of the dreaded man boob phenomenon you have to burn off the fat covering up that well defined chest. P90X integrates ”Plyometrics”, into the mix a fast paced, sports cardio training routine as well as “Cardio X” and “Core synergistics” to get the heart pumping and the body sweating so you burn calories and fat.

Most men care about how they look man boobs don’t have to be part of your physique just make sure your daily exercise routine includes both strength training and cardio similar to the P90X workout system. Once you have your workout regimen in check and your diet in check you’ll be able to say good bye to those “moobs” for good.

But what’s all the fuss about? P90X Plyometrics is an incredible workout routine that’s approximately 50 minutes long that borrows heavily from sports conditioning exercises. If you’ve ever played basketball or football and remember those wicked practices you’ll find quite a few of these moves very familiar.

P90X Plyometrics is a cardio centric workout. It aims to get you moving and keep you moving. The main goals of Plyometrics is to improve agility, increase stamina, and burn a boat load of calories! Like all P90X workouts you can expect to burn at least 600 calories from Plyo. The fact is P90X Plyometrics is considered the “mother” of all P90X workouts for a reason. Chances are you’re probably going to burn closer to 800 calories because the workout is down right intense!

You’ll find yourself in the air most of the 50 minutes as it will have you jumping a lot and often. From Airborne Heisman’s, to Jump Squats, to Monster Truck Tires it gets crazy! I remember the first day I did Plyometrics. I couldn’t get through the last 20 minutes of the workout I was whipped big time. But as Tony Horton says “Do your best and forget the rest”. Little by little you increase your performance and if you’re just starting out beware P90X Plyometrics will kick your butt. Just stick with it you won’t regret it!

I read an article the other day that discussed ways of exercising smarter while in the gym. In the article they mentioned a few things that don’t apply to working out at home, such as what to do when exercise equipment is in use but overall they had some good tips I’d like to share with you. These tips are great for (and utilized) in the P90X system.

1) Target multiple muscle groups for maximum results. Push-ups work the chest, triceps, abs and buttocks while pull ups work the back, shoulders and biceps.

2) Low reps for strength building. High reps for larger toned muscles. No more than 6 reps if you are looking to strengthen your muscles. 8 – 12 reps if you are looking to tone and bulk up your muscles.

3) Variation. Don’t do the same workout every day. By changing the exercises daily your body won’t have the chance to plateau. P90X calls this muscle confusion.

Following these 3 tips will definitely help your workouts. Give them a try and tell me what you think or if you have any others let me know.

When embarking on a fitness program it is completely normal to wonder how effectifive the program is. You may have seen infomercials of P90X or 10 Minute Trainer but perhaps you doubt what you saw or think those results may be too good to be true. If you find yourself wondering does P90X work, you have come to the right place. And the short answer to your question is a resounding “Yes!”

Does P90X work? P90X is one of the best home workout systems currently on the market. The reason it does so well is because of its effectiveness. P90X works and there are several reasons for that. Because P90X was created with the expertise of Tony Horton, a celebrity trainer and ridiculously fit man, it has a stellar endorsement. All of Tony Horton’s workout programs are a great way to get fit. P90X is only one of them.

When asking yourself “does P90X work”, you must remember that workout programs are only as effective as the effort you put into them. A program like this is too major to waste your time on. If you truly want to see amazing effects from P90X you have got to give it your all. As with most workout programs, P90X requires some serious dedication on your part.

So, if you are ready to truly dedicate yourself to an intense 90 day fitness program you will see firsthand the answer to “Does P90X Work?”. This program combines a high octane diet with muscle confusion to ensure your body is being challenged like never before. Just when you think you have done everything you are capable of, Tony will crank it up a notch, giving you more room to grow.

P90X works. Plain and simple. This program can transform your body and how you feel about it. It can take you from an overweight and unhappy adult to someone who truly takes pride in themselves and holds their head high. P90X is a fitness program and can change your body but like many effective workout systems, it can also change your attitude.

We’ve all seen the P90X infomercials. That may be what brought you to Extreme Body Workout. Those late night shows reveal some of the greatest P90X transformations ever. They show people just what kind of progress is possible with the P90X workout system. Many people start P90X wanting those same dramatic results and those who are completely dedicated to P90X success often see them.

P90X success means different things to different people. You may enter the program 25 pounds overweight and want to see the pounds drop off over the next 90 days. I may, on the other hand, simply want to tone up what I have and put on some muscle. What I am saying here is don’t let someone else’s concept of success make yours any less important. Your goals will dictate exactly how you define success when it comes to the P90X program.

Having the dedication to workout on days when you are sore and the sheer will to keep going when the last thing you want to do is workout are good indications of P90X success. Your level of dedication must be greater than your negative self talk. That little lazy-person voice inside of you that talks you out of doing things is the one we are trying to outdo here. That voice will always be there but as you work through the 90 day program, it will become quieter and quieter.

Breaking your P90X successes into weekly accomplishments can be a great way to keep motivation high. Try rewarding yourself with some new workout gear at the end of each 30 day mark for added incentive.

P90X success is about far more than reduced body fat and toned muscles, let’s just get that straight. Arguably one of the greatest rewards of finishing the 90 days of grueling workouts is just that: finishing! As you go through the 90 day period there will be, no doubt, some days you feel like you can’t go on. When that 90th day is reached, however, the sense of achievement you will feel is overwhelming. And that, is true P90X success.

Many fitness programs that you can currently buy to do in your own home come with a physical fitness test. You may be wondering why. Afterall, you purchased the program to get fit not because you already are at your peak. Programs like P90X strongly urge people to complete the physical fitness test before beginning, but why?

Most programs include a physical fitness test because they want to ensure you are ready to withstand the workouts they require. A physical fitness test is a clear indication that you are getting ready to do some seriously tough workouts and the people who designed it want to ensure you are exercising safely.

The P90X physical fitness test, for example, has you perform some minimal tasks to see where your fitness level is. If you don’t score a certain amount, it doesn’t mean you can’t do P90X, it simply means you may want to prepare for it. Preparation for P90X will reduce your chance of injury and make the transition into this intense workout program much easier.

You can’t expect to go from couch potato to fitness extraordinaire. There are steps between these two stages. P90X is definitely one of those steps. But, if you are more spud than stud, you may want to add additional steps, like Power 90 before you take on P90X.

The physical fitness test isn’t there to make you feel bad or to give you an opportunity to fail. It is there to ensure your body is ready for a serious workout regimen. If your body is not ready for P90X, you will be less likely to stick with it and more likely to hurt yourself.

Don’t rush. If the P90X physical fitness test says you aren’t quite ready to dive in, take heed. I know you’re excited to get that 90 day body but a safe body transformation is better than a speedy attempt at one.

The knee jerk reaction to the above question might be: lots and lots of cardio! This, however, would be incorrect. While cardio does burn calories and is a crucial component in reaching your fitness goals, it does not necessarily burn the most fat. Fat burning workouts like ChaLEAN Extreme and P90X have one thing in common, strength training.

There are two basic types of exercise when it comes to losing weight. Those are cardio and weight training. Cardio exercise includes those workouts that cause your heart rate to be elevated for a significant length of time. P90X includes some cardio workouts like Kenpo X and Cardio X. Although these are great cardio workouts and have an essential place in your fitness routine, the may not be the best fat burning workouts.

Strength training is the other kind of workout and involves using weights or other resistance to build muscle. Push ups, squats, lunges, pull ups, weight routines, and resistance band exercises are all good examples of strength training workouts.

In the past, people who wanted to lose weight would turn to cardio only for their fat burning workouts. The reason for this is because cardio causes an immediate calorie burn. While you are working out, you are burning calories at a sometimes very high rate.

Strength training is different but may offer even more fat burning effects. Fat burning workouts like strength training work to build muscle. Muscle requires more fuel to maintain than fat. This means with all other things equal, someone who weighs 200 pounds and has 13% body fat will have a much higher metabolism than someone who weighs 200 pounds and has 20% body fat. Their increased level of muscle means they are burning more fuel throughout the day.

So, a strength training workout that focuses on muscle gains like ChaLEAN Extreme, in the long run, can provide superior fat burning capabilities. These types of workouts will increase your metabolism, allowing you to burn calories and fat, even at rest.

In the past strength training hasn’t been much of a contender in the weight loss world. That is changing now as people, including women, realize it is about far more than looking muscular, it’s about changing your body composition and turning on your fat burning machine!

Boot camp is a period of training that all military personnel go through when they begin their career. It is where they are whipped into shape in a relatively short amount of time through intense workouts on a daily basis. In the fitness world, the term boot camp exercises has come to be known as a intense at home workout program that can have the same effects as the military boot camp training.

There are many at home workout systems that model the actual military boot camp exercises, right down to the instructors being dressed in military garb. What a trainer wears, however, should have no bearing on which workout program you choose. Instead, if you are looking for a program to get you in shape like boot camp exercises do, look for a system that has a track record, one that is proven for providing extreme results.

If there is one product that we sell here at ExtremeBody Workout that resembles a boot camp program, it is P90X. No, you won’t find Tony Horton shouting out commands and degrading you like a drill sergeant but you will experience quite possibly the most intense fitness training system you have ever seen.

Boot camp exercises push you to your limits and so does P90X. Just ask any former or current military member who has done P90X and you will see that even they have been challenged by this program.

A 90-day program designed to transform your body and your attitude towards fitness, P90X delivers the results of boot camp exercises in your own home, without requiring enlistment.

Military boot camp pushes new recruits as hard as possible. Making them think they are on the verge of death by exercise, only to have them surpass and exceed their own limited expectations. Boot camp exercises and programs like P90X can have the same effect, causing you to realize your true fitness potential.

The variety of workouts with the P90X system is one of the great things about it. Not only do you not get bored, but you are constantly challenging your body in new and different ways. For many people, Yoga X is the first time they have ever attempted anything like yoga. This P90X yoga video can be a serious wake up call to that vast majority of people who have only thought of deep breathing and stretching when they heard the word “yoga”.

There are many different types of yoga. While some simply offer deep breathing and meditation, others will work your body in ways you didn’t know possible. While the P90X yoga video can provide good deep breathing techniques, it certainly falls into that category of being a truly challenging workout.

Misconceptions about yoga lead many people to dismiss it as a high quality workout. Those people are missing out on a program that offers great flexibility benefits and a seriously tough workout that can build stability and great muscle tone. The P90X yoga video can deliver a workout that will rival many gym workouts and put muscle-bound lugs face down in a puddle of sweat.

Yoga X isn’t high impact. It doesn’t involve any weights or heavy duty equipment. It moves quite slowly. Hard to believe something with these characteristics would provide you with a surprisingly hard workout, but it’s true. The P90X yoga video is an excellent addition to the program and shouldn’t be overlooked.

Some people are so frightened of what Yoga X entails, they skip it on the P90X workout calendar. While I simply don’t understand this, there is nothing I can do about it except to encourage those of you reading this to give it a shot.
