There’s nothing like a catchy title to get you interested in a workout program. While Insanity might be a little off-putting to some, others see it as the potential solution to their crazy fitness goals. The Beachbody Insanity Workout doesn’t require you be insane to do it, just that you are crazy about reaching the body of your dreams. But how do you know if this workout program is within your ability level, if you will live to tell about your experience with it? True, not everyone is up for a challenge like this, but you might be surprised at just what your body is capable of.
Where Are You Now?
In order to know for certain if you are prepared for Beachbody Insanity, you’ve got to do an honest evaluation of your fitness level. If you’ve spent the past several years on the couch, only getting up to get another snack, or if you live an otherwise sedentary lifestyle, Insanity will be a real challenge. You may benefit from starting with a program like 10 Minute Trainer or Power 90, both great systems in their own right. However, if you have even a minimal fitness base and get some exercise each week, there’s a good chance Insanity would be right for you.
The Insanity Fit Test
The Insanity Fit Test isn’t a test to see if you qualify for the program, but it will provide you with a benchmark, a way to measure your progress from the first day you begin. This fit test has some of the basic moves from Beachbody Insanity and requires you to do as many reps as possible in one minute. The exercises include things like:
- Power Knees
- Power Jumps
- Globe Jumps
- Push-Up Jacks
- Suicide Jumps
You’ll take the fit test on day one and again at various intervals throughout the program in order to see how far you’ve come. And if you are like most Insanity beginners, you’ll find the test more challenging than most of the traditional workouts you’ve come across.
What You Can Expect
The Beachbody Insanity Workout has the potential to not only change your body, but change your life. If you are prepared to give a workout program everything you’ve got, this is the workout program that will make the sacrifice worthwhile. Not only will you torch fat and gain muscle, but your confidence will skyrocket and you will feel better than you ever have before. Of course, that’s after the muscle soreness wears off.
