I’m a planner. Definitely not a spontaneous bone in my body. While I know I’m not completely alone in this, I recognize the vast majority of people have a nice balance between the need to plan and schedule, and the need to just “do” sometimes. However, there are benefits to planning, particularly when it comes to weight loss and general fitness. When we exercise, it’s typically because there is something we want to achieve, whether it be a smaller belly or a tighter bum, and even if we don’t write these desired achievements down (which is ideal), they are GOALS.
Goals are your destination on a map. You can either plan your route in advance or wing it, as some people like to do. In most cases, you’ll find a preplanned route is more likely to result in the right final destination and you may arrive there both sooner and in better shape than if you had just meandered.
Your P90X plan doesn’t have to be complex, nor does it have to take much time to come up with. It involves setting some simple goals and outlining how you’re going to reach them. Fortunately, the P90X Fitness Guide does much of the planning for you. It will let you know which workout to do on which day and what foods you should be eating throughout your journey. Your end of the P90X workout plan involves setting the goals and deciding how to fit this plan into your daily life.
What do you hope to be your final destination with the P90X workout plan? Is it a weight loss of 20 pounds or maybe 5 inches off your waist. We know the time limit is 90 days so make sure your goals are realistic. And once you have a good idea of where you want to be in those 90 days, write these goals down!
How do you plan on getting to those goals? Of course you can follow the calendar and P90X workout plan in the Fitness Guide (and it’s strongly recommended that you do), but when are you going to workout and how do you plan on ensuring your 90 day commitment. Strategizing in advance will give you fewer opportunities for abandoning your path once you have begun.
The P90X workout plan as detailed within the Fitness Guide is one that should be followed by everyone who hopes to achieve dramatic results with the P90X program. But your input is needed too. Make sure you’ve taken the time to think through this system before you jump in. When you reach the 90 day mark, you’ll be grateful you did!
