Both P90X and Insanity workout are excellent ways to get fit and totally transform your body. However, there are many people out there that can’t decide which program is right for them, leading them to ask—Which workout is better P90X or Insanity? The answer to this question isn’t a simple one. These two programs are quite possibly the best home fitness programs out there. They are both extreme workouts and they can both give you excellent results. Saying one is better than the other is like putting Coke and Pepsi against one another. There will be camps on both sides because it’s largely a matter of preference.

Which workout is better—P90X or Insanity? A difficult question with a complicated answer. When you are trying to decide which of these two programs may be right for you, the best thing you can do is decide what your fitness goals are and what your workout preferences are. Both of these workout systems will deliver great results, but they approach the total body transformation in a different way.

Insanity Workout, the newer of the two, is serious cardio. Shaun T. uses what’s called MAX Interval Training to get you working at your maximum effort for a good portion of these workouts. The entire Insanity system is cardio heavy. There are no weights used, though the system will tighten and tone.

P90X, on the other hand, uses a lot of resistance training. Sure there are cardio workouts with the P90X program, but they aren’t the bulk of this workout system. Even when doing the P90X cardio workouts, you will find you are keeping your effort within a controlled range, monitoring your heart rate so that you don’t push too hard—quite a contrast from the Insanity Workout. As you can see, which workout is better, P90X or Insanity, isn’t an easily answered question.

If you’re a big fan of cardio, Insanity will likely be the workout for you. If you abhor cardio, though, and like resistance training, P90X should be your choice. This doesn’t mean that one workout program dominates the other when asking the question which workout is better, P90X or Insanity. It simply means the best workout program for you is a matter of preference.

Both P90X and Insanity will help you reach your fitness goals, the real question should be: Which one do I want to start with?
