We are a world of instant gratification. We want results and we want them fast. This applies to nearly everything but especially in instances where we put forth effort. So, if you are taking on Insanity Workout, how long it takes to see results is wholly dependent on YOU. Like any other fitness plan, the results you see are a direct result of the effort you put forth. Insanity Workout is the tool for getting a ripped body but just how deep you dig will determine the results you reap and how quickly you see them.
Let’s say we both want to lose weight. We both purchase Insanity Workout and begin the program. Our results will not be the same, even if we do the same workouts. Why? Well, genetics play a role in how our bodies respond to fitness programs but, more importantly, there’s no way to be certain we are both working out just as hard as the other. When using Insanity Workout, how long you use it before seeing results will vary from how long it takes me to see results.
The thing to remember with any workout program is that the more you put into it, the more you’ll get out. There is no doubt in my mind that you can see results with Insanity Workout in your first week if you give it your all.
Don’t start Insanity Workout with a small goal. If you stop your ambition with a 5 pound weight loss for instance and you see that result in 2 weeks, what’s next? Set a goal of being leaner, stronger, and fitting into a size 6, for example, and you can extend those goals indefinitely. Sure, you’ll reach your size 6 goal but “feeling stronger” and being leaner are things that can get progressively better and better.
When wondering about Insanity Workout, how long you have to wait for results should, in no way, be a hold-out. Give every workout everything you’ve got and you will be shocked at just how soon and how consistently you will see and feel the results you want.

Im only on day 4 of Insanity and I feel better and stronger. I do see a small difference in how my clothes feels, but that is all due to water weight loss. I’m excited to think how I will feel completing at least 2 weeks! It is HARD but I have to COMMITT if I want drastic results!
Hello Sally,
that’s exactly the attitude you need to be successful!!! You will get great results!!!

My goal weight is 15 lbs. I currently weigh 140. I’m on my second week, but really have seen no results( weight wise that is). I haven’t lost one pound. But i’m sticking it out , eating right, and I’m hopeful that insanity will bring me the results that I want!
Whoever is on the insanity program, just stick it out!!!! it’s a tought work out, but I believe it can help me achieve my goal.
ps
Before insanity, i sucked at push ups, I still suck but a little less!! aha, so I’m excited!

I just finished my second week of Insanity. I am really sticking to it. The first week I dropped four pounds. The second week I put one pound back but I’ve already lost a half inch on my hips and 3/4 off my thighs. So, I’ve decided to to with the measurements. I definitely feel stronger.
One afternoon I was able to do 50 laps in a pool. I haven’t been able to do that in years so my cardio is already improving.
As far as push-ups go. I could barely do three in the fit test. By barely, I mean, I MAYBE moved down a half inch as opposed to going down to the floor. After two weeks I can get halfway down and do more. My goal is to be able to do real push ups soon. I definitely feel stronger. Funny, my arms are looking mroe toned, and I can see a bit of muscle even without full push-ups. Keep doing as much as you can do and it will work.
I’m already getting nervous about starting the second month. I hope I can get my knees up in those jumps this month before i move on.

I am on week two day 1 of Insanity and I feel a slight difference, but i dont feel anything….Im not on that diet, im just eating a lot more healthier. Any suggestions? I’m trying to stay motivated but it’s hard when you don’t feel a difference.
Hi Ashley B,
you aren’t feeling tired or sore after your workouts? I can understand that you want to eat healthy in your own way. It stinks to have to follow a diet plan. This workout is tough and if you are eating right and giving 100%, you should be feeling something! Are you already in great shape? Are you a big fan of cardio?

I can not find my nutrition guide for the Insanity Program. Is there a way to purchase it separately or download it? Thanks!

I am only 17 im 5 11 an weigh 190 and I have been doing this insanity for 5 days now and I am so stiff I cant even move my legs barely. I walk around school with a limp people are saying. But im going to try to stick at it an get really good results.
Stick with it James. The soreness will get less and less intense as you get stronger. Keep up with it!

I just started the insanity program and I’m on the 3rd day and already I feel my abs and legs tighter. It’s a tough workout but I will definitely stick to it.
Nov 14, 2010 @ 04:53:07
I just finished month 1 of the Insanity workout. While I feel in better shape and can notice improvement in my cardio fitness, I’m not seeing any changes to my body yet. I’m 5′ tall and started Insanity weighing 141 pounds. Today, I weighed in at 138 pounds. My belly, which has always been my tough spot, looks the same – still flabby. I’m sticking with the program but I was hoping I’d see some visible changes to my body after the first month. My goal is to get down to 130 pounds and lower my body fat percentage to around 20 (currently it is at 25). I’ve stuck pretty close to the diet plan, though I’m vegan and have been for nearly 20 years for animal rights reasons.
Any advice on why I’m not seeing results after one month of Insanity? I’ve heard many people post that they really start to notice improvements in the second month. Have others on this thread found that month 2 brings more pronounced changes?
Nov 19, 2010 @ 22:09:32
I am on my second day of week 2 of the insanity program. I can tell that my Legs are gaining muscle fast. And also I can feel a difference in my Abs, when I move and do daily activities. Although I seem to have the same problem, I am not seeing any weight loss. Which is one of my main reasons for doing the Video.
Also, I was curios as to how long it took anyone to actually be able to do a complete workout without cutting any of the exercises? Like I previously said, I am on day 9, and still am having trouble completely every exercise. Is this normal?
Nov 19, 2010 @ 23:48:09
Starting to see some results. In fact, I was shocked when I took measurements yesterday. I lost 1 1/2 inches from my waist, 1/2 inch from my biceps, 1 inch from my chest, and 1/4 inch from my thighs. Pleasantly surprised, especially because I thought I wasn’t seeing any improvement.
Dec 02, 2010 @ 18:45:56
I am enjoying the recovery week after having finished a full month of insanity. Unfortunately, I have gained 4 pounds during the first month that have stuck with me for the last two weeks. I feel stonger, but discouraged about the weight gain. Friends and family keep saying it must be muscle – you know the old saying “muscle weighs more than fat.” Well I wasn’t “fat” to begin with – I ran a marathon and three half marathons in the last 9 months, not to mention all the training that goes along with those commitments. I plan to stick it out for the last month of Insanity. I have to admit that I am a bit intimidated by the “max” in all the titles, I mean if that first month wasn’t already MAX – wow!! I just hope the scale starts to move down instead of continuing to go up.
Jan 20, 2011 @ 12:25:55
I’m on my fifth month of Insanity, and I dont intend on stopping! My cardio and muscle tone has improved greatly. For those who are looking to really improve your physique, I suggest to try to lift weights as well. Body shape changes more quickly with more muscle that you put on. I’ve had a huge gut for most of my life and I know it wont go away by the two standard months of this workout. Shrink surely, but not disappear. Thats when I found that i needed to put on muscle to improve my results. Make sure you stick with insanity though, because that way you get the best of both worlds and you will most definately see results. Bigger stronger built, with great tone and endurance.
Jan 21, 2011 @ 22:21:36
Stick with it – It will Work! For those frustrated at your weight, remember that muscle weighs more than fat and because you are building muscle so quickly the best is to go by measuring, not the scale. Eat right and as long as you burn off more then you take in, you’ll succeed!
Feb 06, 2011 @ 12:35:03
I’m in volleyball and in basketball and using the ab circle pro I plan to start the insanity workout tomorrow. Is it going to be to much to handle?
Feb 12, 2011 @ 20:01:31
Brian-
I know exactly what you’re going through! I’ve been a vegetarian for 1/3 of my life now. Two of those years, I was a vegan. I’m pleased to meet another compassionate animal lover who also is into INSANITY! Keep up the good work.
My suggestions to you are to watch out for late night cravings. I know that’s what always got me when I was a vegan (since all the food you are putting in your system is so healthy, it goes right through you and doesn’t fill you up)! These empty calories do no good for you if you pig out and then retire to bed.
Another suggestion is look into vegan protein shakes. They have some pretty amazing tasting soy blends. These will help you build muscle mass and fill you up in a healthy way. I used to get a chocolate flavored soy blend and then mix it with chocolate flavored soymilk. It was soooooo good! Almost like a dessert.
Finally, stay away from processed foods, breads and pastas as much as possible (whole grain is ok if you must eat these) if you’re trying to slim down.
Best of luck!
Keep up the good work!

I’m currently on Week 3 Day 2 and I admit I have been getting great results…but mostly only on my arms and legs. I weigh about 130 lbs and dropped about 8 but expected to see a difference on my chest and/or stomach by now. Is it normal?
Feb 21, 2011 @ 13:18:13
I am 16 im 5’9 and i weigh about 148. I am not over weight I am just not toned, and I hate that. I do not have a ton of motivation either and I find my self constantly giving up during the workouts because of how hard they are. I am a pretty healthy eater. Its very hard though when I am with friends because they can eat whatever they want without gaIning any weight. My spring break is in 35ish days and I am going to florida and I really want to be happy with the way I look. Does anyone have advice to help me stay motiviatated?

Well what I do I just think about how bad I really want it an that does help alot just push yourself I know it’s hard but the results are worth it!

This stuff is intense my legs are killing me and i am only 2 days in aha. When do you see the differences in your body?
Mar 30, 2011 @ 21:25:30
i stuck w/ insanity for 2 weeks. i am 5’3″ weighing 168. i just had a baby. i lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks and a full pant size. i quit because my baby takes up so much time and i work full time. i plan on doing it in 2 week increments to keep seeing results. leg soreness was horrible for 4 days then it disappeared!!!
Apr 01, 2011 @ 09:56:57
I’m on week 4 day 5! Still no results on my mid section. My starting weight was at 160 and this morning I weighed myself at 159. My clothes still feel the same… I’m looking forward to next month, I hope I start seeing changes then. Has anyone tried shakeology?? Does it help to slim faster?
Apr 04, 2011 @ 16:22:20
Hey,
Okay I am on my second week now I’m starting day 7 today I tried p90x before buy I didn’t even get through one week of staying on track with it. For some reason I’m super dedicated to insanity probably because I’m a little hyper active so all the jumping around really gets me excited I’m 17 years old about 5’10 143 pounds I wanna get to 135 and I’m so excited because I am already sleeping better, breathing better, I feel a little stronger everyday and overall I’m getting happier. I’m proud of my self so far I am giving my all in the workouts to where I’m almost throwing up but when I put on my skinny jeans today I could barely get them on!! What the heck? Is this not working? I feel bloated and just overall heavy today. What do I do? I will continue to keep working my hardest but it’s a bit of a let down. I am eating healthy protein shakes fruit veggies salads etc. A few snacks here and there tho. I don’t jaw the nutrition guide but I know food well enough to know if I should eat it or not. Any advice would be wonderful!

i am a lymphoma patient who is currently going through chemo therapy.
I’m only 14 and my mom already did insanity, i just recently have started feeling well enough to work out again. Do I have to get back in shape to start insanity or can i just start off the bat?
Hello Greg,
you should already be in decent shape before you start Insanity. I would ask your physician for a light fitness plan that is good for you and what you are going through right now. Once you start to feel stronger and have better stamina, try Insanity!

i am 18yrs old, i stated insanity 9 days ago and i dont see any difference at all, im 5’9 280, i have alot of muscle, i bench press 360lbs and squat 555lbs but im not feeling any stronger or loosing any weight. and i am also STRICTLY following the diet… is this normal??
Apr 11, 2011 @ 12:45:17
Hello Brandon C,
first of all, it’s only been 9 days. If you see any results by now, it would only be a few pounds on the scale. You probably wouldn’t visibly see results this early. Especially you being in good shape already-I am guessing you are already pretty built.
For example, John Doe is male, 280, 5’9 and not in good shape at all. No muscle, all flab. If you both were to start a program like Insanity or P90X at the same time, John Doe will most likely see results before you do. Why? John Doe has much more room for improvement. He has to expend more calories to do the workouts because of his weight and the lack of muscle behind it. The workout is easier for you because you are in better shape, therefore you burn at a slower rate. You have to get to the point where your body is struggling and working hard and then you will start to see some results. John Doe is struggling from the start and most likely doesn’t eat well. The dramatic change in activity and nutrition will surprise his body and he might even lose 5 pounds in the first week.
Because you are a heavy lifter, you will have to go beyond your normal “work zone.” Insanity uses your own body weight as resistance, so for your chest and back, you might not be going above and beyond what you can lift on a bench, if you are regularly lifting like that. Resistance wise at least.
The cardio and diet should be helping you burn fat, but a scale can’t tell the difference between muscle and fat. Unless you have one of those fancy scales that can measure body fat somehow.
What are your desired results? Maybe you are using the wrong program. The aim of Insanity is to help you lose weight, lower your body fat percentage, and get more “lean ripped” and less bulked up. There is too much cardio to get bulky. P90X might be what you need.

Hello,
I’m trying to get into shape for a plice physical test in about 2 months or so. I’m at 213 wanna get down to 170. I am on week 2 day 2 of insanity and the only difference so far is i’m not sore anynmpre the next day after working out. But will insanity help me get to 13 man pushups in two months? right now all i can so is girl push ups and about half way down on a man push up ( my chest has to be 3 inches fro the ground for the test)… i’m worried tgat insanity alone won’t help me get there
any suggestions for helping improve my pushups with insanity?
Maresa,
just doing insanity will improve your ability to do push-ups! A way to intensify a push-up move is to bring your hands in closer to your body. I know the push-up moves you do in Insanity are all over the place, but where you can, bring your hands in and this will build that tricep strength. Wider push-ups really work the chest and back. Other than that, you just have to do push-ups and try to do more and more and try to get lower and lower each time.

Im only on day 3 of the workouts and already starting to have trouble with the diet i am a avid pop drinker and have only had 2 diet pops since insanity started is it okay to have a few pops throught. Also i am so tired during the workouts so i stop for a little and break will i still get good results even if I take these breaks?
Hello Kevin,
ultimately, you want to eliminate soda all together, but small steps will still get you there. If you have to take a break during the workouts then pick it back up when you get a breath, that’s fine. Eventually you will be able to power through the workouts without having to stop for a break. Sometimes it’s better to ease your way into than to try and take it on full force and end up giving up because you over do it.

Apr 13, 2011 @ 20:09:06
Thanks Mike I did try that today and it was actually easier to do pushups with my arms wider. I could actually do a few without stopping. thanks for the advice. I found out today I have until about June or so. i’ll be updating with progress
Apr 14, 2011 @ 12:28:30
im only 17.im 5’11 175.i just got done my 3rd day and i am really feeling sore already.it really tuff but im going to stick with it.i wanted to know how long before i start seeing a difference in my body.i want a bigger chest and ripped abs so do you think it will take about 2 or 3 weeks before i start seeing results?
Hello Darius,
you should start to visibly see results in a few weeks. Stick with it and try to follow the diet or at least use it as a guide. Eating in a way to complement your workout will only make your results better.

My wife and I started INSANITY 3 days ago. WOW what a workout. We have drastically changed our eating habits to go with the program. We are both out of shape she is 5’1 I am 6’0 she says she is feeling it in her abs I am not and am wondering why. But we both are feeling it in our legs and shoulders. we are sticking it out til the end.
Hello Jason,
it could be that because you are male, you naturally have more muscle. When you start working out, the more out of shape you are or if you have little muscle, you will start to feel the effects more and sooner. Kind of like if you and Sean T were to do Insanity together. He probably wouldn’t feel any soreness at the point where you would because he is already fit. If that makes any sense!
Keep getting insane!

im on my 4 day have insanity and i was wondering if it ok to run my 5 miles will it effect my workout on insanity at all
Hello Ryan,
5 miles per week or per day? Either way, you will be burning more calories and you will lose more body fat. It will effect your results but in a good way! Unless you are trying to get really bulky, but as a runner I am sure that isn’t the case!
If you are feeling a little tired doing both, you might have to increase your calories a little bit.

Im on week 3 and have seen some great results and have lost about 10 pounds. My love handles are going away slightly, and I’m really trying to make those go away. I haven’t worked out as hard as this workout makes me in years, it works for sure! My fitness has increased greatly already, and I feel great! I just want my abs to come through, I can see my upper abs, but Im having a hard time with my lower abs. Do you have any suggestions to help trim lower abs fat more significantly in the workout? Am I contracting incorrectly perhaps? Thank you.
Hello Josh,
its the leg lifting exercises that really works the lower abs, so perhaps you could use ankle weights. This will add resistance and make those muscles work harder. You still need to be mindful of what you eat, because you could have a great six pack under a layer of fat that you can’t see! To get rid of that fat, you have to lower your overall body fat percentage by getting enough cardo exercise and eating right.

I start insanity 8 days ago. I used to play football but when I hurt my shoulder it took me out for the season. So I didn’t do a lot. But within weeks I gained 35 pounds because of my bad metabolism.
So when should I start seeing results? I weigh 210 now and I am 5’11″, and I really want to get back to thin. I am about to join a gym (today actually) so that I can lose weight and get leaner faster and more effectively.
Hello John,
you just have to get yourself back into a daily routine. Insanity is a great program to use and if and when you finish Insanity, there is a great “next step” program out called Insanity: The Asylum. This program uses sports drills to take your Insanity results to the next step. For now, keep doing Insanity every day and follow the meal plan. Eating right is key if you really want to shed some weight.

i just started insanity this week. i took the fit test on monday and i find that im pretty fit to do some of the things n not the others. i finished the plyometric cardio disc yesterday after volleyball practice. i hope that combining my other workouts with insanity will get me to my goal of being leaner stronger n more toned. im like 5 ft 6 and weigh about 170lbs people say i dont look like i do but i see it. i would like to get back down to 140 or 130lbs. wish me luck and good luck to the others that are trying(:

I started Insanity 9 days ago… I have 2 kids, ages 1 1/2 & 4 1/2, I’m 24, 5ft 8inches tall & weigh 134, I’m trying to lose the little bit of mommy belly I have, while toning up also! I realized I sleep so good at night & wake up more energized, even after the workout! I can feel & see results in my legs & arms, I feel it in my upper abs but not in my lower(where my mommy belly is..lol) Is there any advice that you could give me?? Thank you, Any advice is appeciated!!
Hello Nicole,
that is a tough spot and it seems to be the last place slim down for most people. If you want to focus on that area, you can add ankle weights when you do any leg lifting exercise, most likely during ab ripper x, and that will add resistance and help build the muscles in that area. You also have to keep up with your cardio and be sure you aren’t eating more calories than the nutrition plan lays out. The key to getting great abs isn’t just the actual ab exercises, but you also have to keep up with your cardio workouts and eat the right amount of calories.

I’m wondering if insanity is a better workout than Dance Dance Revolution???
Yes………
May 07, 2011 @ 21:25:20
I just finished day 10 of insanity Im not following the diet plan per se but I am eating healthy (no soda, no fast food etc…). I really want to gain muscle in my chest and I want my abs to show. I already have strong abs from ski training and mixed martial arts. How long would you say before I start seeing them abs
? Any advice? Also I am 143 lbs and 5 foot 9. Thank you any advice is greatly appreciated!
Hello Josh B,
your abs will show when you reduce your body fat enough to let your abs show. I’m sure you already have a six pack under there, you just have to bring down your body fat percentage. This shouldn’t take took long if you are really keeping up with the workouts and are eating right. You should take a look at the nutrition plan. Even if you don’t follow it, take some advise from it. If you are eating “white” carbs, you may be holding yourself back. Pasta, rice, bread and sugar in the “white” form are no good when you want to lower your body fat percentage. Brown rice, whole grain pasta and breads are much better because your body has to work harder to process them. “Complex” carbs are the way to go. Those should also be limited. Check the nutrition guide to see how many servings per day you should be eating.

Hey I’m Conor,
I started insanity 1 week ago. I am 5′ 8 and 132lbs. I started off petty fit but my knees are starting to hurt. I have proper runners and I used to do a lot of running and my knees never hurt. I want to keep doing insanity but I don’t want to injure myself. Should I stop or is this normal?
May 12, 2011 @ 14:03:51
Hello Conor,
this could just be a matter of strengthening your leg muscles to better support your knees for this sort of exercise. Insanity is high impact and you need the support of you leg muscles to lessen the strain in your knees. I would get checked out by a doctor before you continue just in case there is a greater problem.

I am on day 5 of week one. I find the workouts to be challenging but I am able to get through the whole thing. Push-ups not perfect though!
I do feel alot better and a it definitely makes me sleep alot better! However, I would have expected that I would be sore and I am not really! Could I be doing something wrong? I keep reading or hearing that alot of people are extremely sore in the first week.
Hello Jen,
when people get sore, it’s usually because they are forcing their muscles to work harder than usual. Have you been working out before you started P90X? Or, if you are using very light weights and sort of taking it easy, or easing your way into the workouts, you are not giving your muscles that shock which will cause them to be sore.
If you really haven’t worked out prior to P90X and are really giving 100%, you should be a little sore! Just keep going and be sure not to just go through the motions, as Tony says, and really create that tension in you muscles by tightening them with every move, or flexing.
-Mike
May 13, 2011 @ 12:28:06
Conor you should try a cross trainer shoe.. I did p90x and the first 3 days of insanity with runners and it killed my feet and knees.. Simply because runners are made to support forward and back movements.. Cross trainers support you in all directions and offer more cushion and stability. where a running shoe only gives you cushion on the heel.. That extra cushion will take a lot of the stress off your knees… Hope that helps..
Great advise,thanks for sharing Nathan!

I just starter the Insanity program three days ago. I’m definitely feeling better and more energetic, but I have a fear of not reaching my goal. I’m a 19 year old female, 5’6 and I weigh about 187 poudns give or take. My goal is to lose at least 30 pounds while building muscle and getting toned. I know for a fact, due to money issues and unfortunate circumstances through out the days, I won’t be able to 100% follow the diet plan. Will I still get the same results they promise? I mean I started eating healthier and like it is suggested in the guide. I just want to see results as quick as they guarantee. I’ve been overweight for too long. I’ve never been happy with my body, I’ve always wanted to be skinny and toned, and I’m determined to make this happen.
May 27, 2011 @ 12:09:09
I on Recovery Week and so far I’ve seen a vast improvment in my cardio. I was not big to begin with and this is the first workout I’ve ever done in my life and I’m 26. I am underweight as am I 5’9″ and weight only 135. I was looking to do this exercise to tone up rather than bulk up. I don’t really have the frame to be bulk, but I’d rather have muscle definition.
After the first month, I definitly see physical changes in my arms and my abs are being to show. I don’t eat right because I really need to eat like 3,000 calories a day just to maintain my weight.
Any advice on how to gain some weight when I’m already underweight??? I’ve been tiny weight wise, my whole life. It’s tough for me to even eat 3,000 calories a day. I haven’t tried protein shakes or anything, I’m a little skepticle on them.
I should see some great results after month 2 as far as definition!!

I started insanity two weeks ago and am now starting my third week.I am a college student and gained badly. I am 5 feet tall and weigh 132 pounds. Back in high school i used to play soccer and weighed 105 pounds, which is what i want to get back to. Although i have noticed the cardio is getting easier for me, i have not seen any results in weight loss..meaning on the scale. What can i do to lose the fat? I am working out and eating pretty healthy but the fat does not seem to be coming off on my body. HELP! its so hard to stay motivated when I dont feel like I am seeing changes ya know?

It’s day 12 eating nothing that isn’t in the book and I’ve lost one pound, but I’m not stressing because I only really care about what my body actually ends up looking like. It’s also only the second week and it seems as though alot of people say the results really start coming in in the second month. I’m also sure that it’s impossible to not eventually see results when you’re working as hard and sweating as much as I have been.
What would you say the best time to work out is? I’ve been working out an hour or so after meal 3 or 4 and my 4th or 5th meal is a protein shake that I drink immediately after the workout as I recover from feeling like dying. Is this a good idea? Should I be working out earlier in the day (i.e. after my second meal)?
Tomorrow is pure cardio as well as cardio abs. Should I go straight from pure cardio into carido abs without rest? If not, what kind of break should I be taking in between the two workouts?
Hello Brian.
In general, it is better to work out earlier in the day because the exercise gets you body going and your energy levels will go up to allow you to burn a little more through out the day. But work out when it’s most convenient for you, otherwise you might be setting yourself up for failure.
Month two is when most people see results, but this usually depends on the shape they are in when they start and what their diet was like prior to Insanity. You can take a short break before cardio abs, maybe a few minutes. But if you wait hours you will have to get you body pumped back up into fat burning mode in order to get a good burn in.

I have just started 2 days ago on this workout “adventure” and let me tell you…my body HURTS!! I am hurting in my back and my legs. It burns everytime I walk and was wondering if I should rest or push through the burn?
Also, is there any foods that target weight loss in the abdomen area. I know that you have to keep low fat and non-fat items in your diet, but anything else specific…..does green tea help???
Hello Dee-Dee,
it might be tough, but it’s better to push through it. Once you warm up, it wont hurt as much!
Belly fat is tough to get rid of no matter what you eat. This is because when you lose body fat, it’s an over all process. Not just in certain spots. The storing of fat, however, does not work in the same way! Because your body stores most fat in your midsection, it would appear that you stomach isn’t going anywhere when it is.
Think about how a human shaped balloon (with a big belly) would deflate. The whole body would shrink as a whole, then when the smaller areas are done deflating, then the big belly area would start to shrink down.
Silly, I know!!!! But that’s the best analogy I could come up with!

I started my insanity workout 2 weeks ago and I weighed 200 pounds. I just did my second fit test and crushed it. Can anyone tell me why I weigh 201 pounds today? its been 2 weeks of hell and I have been dedicated every day. Why am I not losing any weight? I am also on a weight watchers diet.

I have finished my first week and am on day one of week two. I havent been eating right at all and I even went out for drinks twice this last weekend so I think I wasted last weeks workouts. I dont see any improvement thus far. I decided that although I have been serioius sense day one, now I am going to get deciplined. Im going take my measurements and wiegh myself and actually try to keep up with he progress. All the soda and alcohol is gone now and I wont be buying anymore. Thats the easy part. I need to eat right. I am not very patient when it comes to eating correctly and Im not very informed about it either. Would a program like jenny craig or nutrisystem work with insanity. This would help me out greatly. Also I am aout halfway through the warm up my feet start to cramp and I take more breaks than the ppl on the video. Its obvious Im not in there shape, but is this bringing my chances of losing the lbs and toning up down. if its cardio I try not to break too long just long enough to walk around and shake it off, but the ground work with pushups and ski jump Im finding really difficult. I am 30, 5’9″ and 185(appx) right now. i would like to get down to 150 ( i know it is pretty unrealistic for 2 months, but Im willing to go longer). Im giving myself 4 months but I want to make sure that Im doing it right so do you have any helpful hints or tips?
Hello Reba,
Insanity is tough. Normally I would not recommend this program for those who aren’t in at least OK shape, but since you already have it, I would take it slow and ease your way into it. Do what you can and take breaks when you need to but try to improve each day.
This workout is very high energy so if you do try a food program, make sure you account for the amount of exercise you will be doing. Check the Nutrisystem website to see if they have a form where you can enter in your weight and activity levels to see how many calories you need and if they have a program that will work with you exercise plan.

I started insanity yesterday, and I love it. I actually got winded in the warm up phase of the fit test. LOL. I am 27 years old, 6’3″ and weigh 235. The best shape I was ever in was when I was in the Military and fluctuated between 190-200 LBS. As soon as I got out of the Military, I put on 35 LBS almost instantly. I am very motivated to get back to where I was. The diet plan is very difficult to stick to, but Im doing it, no matter what. Heres a small tip that works for me when I am sore, which everybody will be when starting a new workout, for the first week or two. If you have access to a hot tub, GET IN IT, after your Insanity workout. It does wonders for your muscles. Staff, if you think this is a bad idea, please let me know, but I love it and it really helps with the sorness I am feeling in my legs. Also, is it ok to be taking OXYELITE Pro and taking the SHAKEOLOGY shake as a supplement for breakfast?

This is my first workout program that I have ever done, and I had a few questions. I am 5’3″ age 25 female at 145 lbs trying to get down to 130. I have cut out sodas together entirely and overall I am eating healthier. I was wondering if I would see a weight gain at first while doing this program. I understand that muscle weighs more than fat, but if I keep at this program, and continue to eat healthy, will I reach my goal of 130? I am only on day 3, and I don’t plan on weighing myself until week two at some point. Just wanted to be prepared if I got on the scale and my number was higher than 145. Thanks all!
Hello Laura,
if you are keeping the weights light, you shouldn’t have a problem with losing weight because of muscle gain. But if you do see a couple extra pounds in the beginning, don’t worry, it can happen but you will start to see a turn around within a couple more weeks. 15 pounds is a very attainable goal. If you stick with the nutrition plan and get your workout in every day, you can definitely get down to 130. A few things about the nutrition plan that I believe are most important if you want to lose weight is to be sure you are eating the right amounts of protein and really watch out for sugar and simple carbs (sugar is basically a carb). Eliminate them all together if you can.

Hey guys i see some of you guys wonder how can you see results really fast. Well im in shape because i use to lift weights before i started insanity, i had a 6 pack but i wanted to make them stand out more so what i did is use a sweatshirt on my insanity work outs and my personal opinion i think you will see results faster.
Jul 06, 2011 @ 13:24:01
I have just purchased Insanity and can not wait to start it. I am 5’5″ very muscular and weighing in at 235lbs. I do not look this weight, thank god, but I would love to be back in a bikini and that is my goal, and I will get there. Wish me luck and I will hopefully update in a few weeks with my results from Insanity.

Hi,
today was week 4, day 1. I am trying not to get frustrated because Im not seeing a lot of changes or any changes. My friends say my face looks smaller…..? Im def drenched in sweat after my workouts and eat pretty healthy regularly. Im beginning to bring my carb intake into a halt just so I can see soem changes.
Any advice?
Jul 07, 2011 @ 10:15:12
Hello Layla,
stick with it. You will start to see results soon if you are giving 100% and eating right. Some people see results sooner than others. This usually depends on the shape you are in to start and how hard you are working. You might not be seeing any weight loss on the scale, but have you been measuring you body fat percentage? If you face is looking slimmer, it could be because your body fat percentage is going down. Get a body fat tester and start keeping track every couple of weeks.

There so many people saying I need motivation if you can’t believe in yourself then what makes you think someone else will. Take a look at yourself if you don’t like what you see change it and as for seeing results you didn’t get fat in 2 months why would you think your going to lose most of it in 2 months regardless of the intensity of insanity. 20-25% is working out 75-80% Arnold Schwarzenegger said this and he didn’t get to his size in just a year.

I have been doing insanity for 6 wks, but I’m still on month one. I’m doing month one twice. I’m becoming a little frustrated. Before insanity my weight was 128, today my weight is 132. I’m giving it my all aswell as eating right; I dnt understand the weight increase. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks
Hello Kanika,
this could be a result of muscle gain. Are you measuring your body fat percentage? Muscle weighs more than fat, so if you really didn’t have any muscle prior to starting this program, you could gain a few pounds because you have started to develop your muscles. It also could be a result of an imbalance with calories taken in and burned. When you are working out this hard, you need to eat more calories, but not more than what is recommended for weight loss. Are you using the nutrition guide? Double check to make sure you are falling within the guidelines and measure your body fat. It might be time to move on to the next step of the program.

I am on week 7 of Insanity. I have a full-time job, a toddler, and a baby but I have managed to stick to the program 5-6 day/week. I am eating a lot healthier too. So far, I have GAINED 1 pound and am extremely frustrated. I want to quit because I feel like I can save myself an hour of torture everyday and still be the same weight. Why am I not losing weight!???
See above.

Hello, I am currently in week 3 day 2 of insanity. I had a few questions because my schedule is VERY different from most people and just wanted to know if I am on the right track. I am 5’2′ and about 125 (didnt weigh myself before insanity just measurements). What make me different is I work at night so I am up at night and sleep in the day (some what). My day consist of waking up between 1pm to 3pm. Eating Meal 1 waiting about 2hrs and then working out afterwards I eat meal 3, then around 10pm to 11pm I eat meal 5 before I have to work at 11:45pm. While at work I eat meals 2 and 4 (once around 2am and the other around 5am). I leave work around 7am and sleep til 1 to 3 pm and repeat. Is this a way to go about things? I try to eat every three hours while I am awake to keep the body going. Another concern I had was about the calorie intake. When calculating my calories the guide suggested I should have around 1800 calories/day. But when tracking my meals in my journal i miss the mark by 600 to 400 cals. Throughout the day I don’t feel tired or drained from eating less calories. I even find that I can get full before finishing the whole meal. Is have between 1200 to 1600 cal/day ok with the first month of insanity? When month two arrives will it be less difficult to eat more?
Hello Ashley,
eating every few hours would be the best way to do it. Keep your body working and keep yourself from getting too hungry, which can lead to eating not so great foods. It’s ok to make this program work for you and your schedule. As long as you are not going over your calorie mark by that many, you should be fine if you feel you have enough energy.

Hi, I am on week 2 day 2 of the insanity workout. The first 3 days I was very sore, especially on my calves. I could barely walk. Now I’m doing better, and have more energy. I eat healthy, and I’m going to stick with this program, but so far I haven’t seen any changes, and I’ve read every comment above, we should have patience. Just do it for 2 months than see. I sweat like crazy and give it my all with the workouts, I’m almost puking by the end. I also use sauna belts to help me sweat more, because when you sweat more, you lose more. So hopefully I will lose weight and get more toned. Also I eat healthy, but I think I eat less than the recommended calorie intake. I eat lots of fruits and veggies and soups, and a really light snack for dinner. I’m thinking I eat about 800-1000 calories a day….
Jul 20, 2011 @ 10:05:19
I’m on Week 3, Day 3 of Insanity and like a lot of the other posters, haven’t seen any results. I’m 20, 244lbs, 5’8. I hadn’t truly worked out, aside from going to Curves (saw no results there either) a couple times a week. So the crazy me completely jumped into Insanity with pretty much no muscle mass or cardio strength whatsoever. The first two weeks, I gained 5 pounds, which I’m positive has to be muscle. I’m tracking my calories, and don’t ever go over 1500 a day. The fitness guide tells me I’m supposed to eat a ridiculous amount of calories per day… around 3000!! And this is to LOSE weight?! How is that right? I simply can’t eat that much. I know I’m getting stronger, but what should I be doing differently so that I can lose weight? I figured it wouldn’t take as much effort since I haven’t diligently exercised before, and I have plenty of weight to lose. Can anyone help?
Jul 21, 2011 @ 07:59:16
Hi Maggie, I think you should go for 30 minute fast walks. After I had my baby, I had gained 35lbs, but I think it was all water weight. I went for 30-45 minute fast walks about 5 times a week, and I lost 25 lbs in 2 months. If you can, try running, then walk fast, and then run again, so like intervals. That helped me a lot. Also I drank a lot of water, and green tea at least 2 times a day. Throughout the day keep yourself moving, try not to sit for long periods of time, keep moving. Do whatever you can to sweat a lot. And try not to eat dinner too late, 6pm should be the latest, and it should be a very light dinner. Usually in the mornings, I had my cereal, and then for snack some almonds or a fruit, and for lunch, some veggie soup, and tuna sandwhich, and then dinner I would have a fruit maybe more soup, and some veggies. Now I’m doing Insanity, and I haven’t seen any results on the scale, but I know I’m losing inches, and I get compliments. I just have 10 more lbs to lose. Have patience, you will see results. Good luck to all.

Hi,
I’m 19 and a little over 5 feet and I weigh about 117 pounds. I’m doing insanity not to lose weight but to keep myself in shape and tone my body. Specifically I want to lose inches on my waste. Is it common and typical to definitely lose inches on my waste? I’m only in week 1, I’m definitely not going to stop and I follow it everyday. I was already in shape before but this will keep me in shape. Also is it important to drink the recovery drink after each work out? I have not been and in worried that it might take away from my results.
Thanks,
Amanda
Hello Amanda,
Insanity will help you reduce your overall body fat percentage, so you should lose inches off of your waist.
The recovery drink is important for muscle recovery and it helps with soreness. If you don’t take it, you wont be hurting your results, but if you would like to focus on building muscle, you might want to.

This is my 2nd week of insanity and I still haven’t seen any results
I’m 5.2 and 127 lbs I just want to get down to 115 pounds. I haven’t changed my eating habit at all
When will I see results. Do I have to complete change my eating habits. How many calories should I be eating in a day? Please help!
Hello Mia,
give it some time. Results don’t happen over night, or even in a week or two. That would be awesome if it did happen that way, but this is why most home fitness programs are at least 30 days long. It can take some time to transform ourselves.
You might want to at lease use the nutrition plan as a guide to eating better. If you eating habits are poor, you might be omitting all of your hard work. You don’t have to get extreme with the diet, just take a look in the book and see if you can at least follow the guidelines.

Hi,
This is all really helpful! i am on week 3 day 3 of Insanity. I too have not used their diet plan…i have just begun to eat healthier on my own and have stayed away from ALL junk food. I drink only water and maybe a few sips of orange juice in the AM. I have not seen much results physically yet, i have lost a few lbs on the scale but i do feel stronger. I am able to do more in the workouts than when i first started and i feel like i am working out harder and trying harder. My goal is always to finish the workout…no matter how many times i pause it or stop to take a breather i always finish the work out. Im going to stick with it and hopefully get those results i want to see soon
Jul 27, 2011 @ 15:44:52
I am on the fourth week of insanity and I have only lost 2 lbs. But I feel stronger and I can to the exercises better now than when I first started. I’ve lost inches but I am feeling discourged because I want to see more results. I am 34 y/o woman and delivered (c-section) 7 weeks ago. I was active during my pregnancy (hiked, and worked full time I’m on my feet all day) but with this pregnancy I gained 47 lbs and I know I should be patient in seeing results. I love the insanity DVD’s and I am very dedicated, I just wish I could see more results on the scale.
Hello Melissa,
you could be gaining muscle and that will throw the scale off. You should start using a body fat tester to see if you are losing fat, which weighs less than the muscle you could be gaining. If you are losing inches, are are on the right track.

Hello John,
if you do the workouts every day and stick to the nutrition plan, you will start to lose weight. You have to work hard and be dedicated to the program, but you should start to see results by day 25.

I’m a week and a half in to insanity
Ever since I started I never really felt sore
I have dropped about 9 pounds
But I have done p90x before and I feel like that beet my body up more I’m really trying my hardest with insanity but I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong since I don’t wake up sore the next day can it be bc of the amount of protein I eat
Guys help I’m need to be motivated
Hello Victor,
it could be that you got a better start with Insanity because you already did P90X. A person who wasn’t in shape who started Insanity would be screaming each morning with soreness! I wouldn’t welcome it! If you are giving it your all, not just going through the motions, you are on the right track. When you started P90X, were you sore for 90 days straight? I am guessing no.
Keep pushing forward and working hard!!

Im going to start insanity tomorrow and have a few questions. I am 18, male, 5’10 and weigh 150.
I lost weight a few years ago, but i did it the wrong way of course. I didn’t eat enough, but still lost a lot of weight. I weigh 150, but i have a high body fat percentage. Im guessing anywhere from 18-mid 20′s percent. I did a round of p90x, and lost 13 pounds, which has gotten me to my current situation. Will insanity and proper nutrition get me abs and a toned body?
Also is 1500 calories enough. during my p90x round i was not getting any results with 1800 calories. I never went below that, so i i think lowering it might be good. If you have any other ideas please let me know?
lastly, what days do you suggest that i do upper body weight training? I will do one on the recovery days, but i need to know when i should do another one?
Hello Andre,
Insanity is great for lowering body fat percentage because you are always moving. You get so much cardiovascular exercise along with muscle toning. If you stick with the program and eat right, you can get abs and a toned body. That is the focus of Insanity, to help you to transform your body.
If you think you need to lower our caloric intake a little to giver yourself a boost in terms of weight loss, try not to go down too much. 1500 would be a good place to start.
If you need another day to do upper body resistance, pick a day not right before of after the fist day of upper body and when you aren’t working the upper section too much. A day where you have to do a lot of pushing up would not be a good day!

Im an athlete who’s has been sidelined with an injury an have been losing weight from 215 down to 200 (This is muscle weight) is this a program that will allow me to actually gain weigh and get to my playing weight?
Hello Dale,
typically P90X is used to lose weight as well as gain muscle definition. However, as an athlete you know that the size of the weight matters greatly. Doing sets of 8-10 using heavier weights will give you more mass rather than lean muscle. If you can do 11 reps easily, this is an sign that you need a heavier weight. Also, you might want to go right to the third phase of the nutrition plan which is the endurance maximizer, more of an athletic diet. You don’t want to reduce calories to lose weight as you would in the first and second phases, but you don’t want to just eat anything to get calories. You might have to feel things out a bit as you go along, maybe reducing cardio a little or eating a few more servings of protein.

i was really athletic in highschool playing volleyball, golf, basketball, and soccer and normally two sports at a time but i have always been thick. i really wish to be thin or little and i need to lose weight. i know there are body types out there but can a thick person become a small figure?? im 5’1 weighing 166. u would never guess i weigh that much and i know muscle weighs more than fat. however i do have a lot of fat i can lose. i watch what i eat everyday and always have. i have done p90 and got insanity for my bday. i have started it twice bt i push so hard i can barely move… i really want results fast.. im wanting to lose more than 30 pounds.. is insanity going to be able to get me the quick results?? i can commit and i know 30 pounds is an insane goal..
Hello Bre,
If you started Insanity before and kind of stopped because it’s insanely difficult, which it is……..start again and take it slower this time. Set a goal to do a portion of the workout for the first week. Maybe around 20 to 30 minutes. Then start to work your way up to being able to do the entire workout each day. Insanity is a tough program to jump into and be able to finish the whole thing. Even for those who have completed other programs like P90X. For someone who is naturally thick, you might not lose 30 pounds, but you will lose body fat percentage and inches all over. You are probably naturally muscular and when you really start getting into this program, you muscles are going to start to tighten up and grow a little which might throw off your weight loss. You will still lose weight, but don’t focus on the scale, get a body fat tester and a measuring tape to measure your results.

Hi I’m 13 and I’m gonna start insanity and I’m looking to loose 30 pounds. I am 5″9 and weigh around 150-155 pounds I was wondering how long would it be before I start seeing good results and I want to be able to get into a bikini
Hello Annabelle,
it can vary from person to person, some may start to see weight loss during the first couple weeks and some may not see any results until half way through the program. If you are in ok shape to begin with, and have an average diet, it may take a bit longer to see weight loss. If you are out of shape and don’t eat healthy at all, then start Insanity and start to eat better, you will see results quicker because your body will be caught off guard. Eating right for the workout you are doing at the time is also key. You will be needing energy to get through your workout, but you don’t want to eat too much or the wrong foods. The exercises alone will whip your body into shape, but the nutrition part of the program will really help you to burn body fat.

I’m 21, 5’9 180 pounds. I’m really muscular, but my stomach really needs some help. I just bought insanity, and will be starting it tomorrow. I’ve started eating healthy, and am hoping to see a big change. I have P90X and was just wondering what would work better for the belly area. I am going to be completely dedicated to either one, just wanting to know which one is going to show the best results.
Hello Graci,
As a general rule, you can do ab exercises until you are blue in the face, but if you aren’t doing enough cardio and are eating too many calories, you will end up with abs hidden under a layer of fat. You need to both lower your body fat percentage and build your muscles to get a great midsection.
Insanity is a bit more cardio based and P90X is more strength training. They both can help reduce belly fat, but in slightly different ways.
Insanity is just crazy intense cardio and uses your own body as resistance. It’s easy to see how this program can help reduce body fat percentage. The exercises you will be doing will also help strengthen your core which will help flatten your midsection.
P90X is mainly resistance training, but when you build your muscles, wether for mass or for lean muscle, you body becomes more efficient at burning body fat. Combine that with two intense cardio sessions, a core blasting Yoga workout and a fat burning nutrition plan, your belly fat will start to melt away.
To help decide, ask yourself this:
Do I like cardio or do I like resistance training?
If you don’t want to deal with chin-up bars, dumbbells or resistance bands, go for Insanity. If you struggle with cardio, like you can’t really run that far without getting winded or you get tired quickly, go with P90X.

Hi my name is Orlando and i just completed my first week of INSANITY. I am 6’1″ and i currently weigh 262 lbs. Since I started the program and doing the workouts I have noticed that the only place i feel a burn is in my legs and shoulders but not my abs. I try to keep my core tight just like I am instructed but I cant seem to feel it. If i don’t manage to feel any improvement in the first month of the program, will the second month period be a better chance to workout my abs?

on day three and feel really good very stiff this workout works well. Watching the diet and already feeling more tone. I am really enjoying this and my wife is doing it with me and we are both very motivated. Did the before pictures and can’t wait for the after. Quit drinking and smoking and you find out how much that stuff effects you when you try to get healthy. Very happy i purchased this so get my t shirt ready I am earning it. Shaun does motivate you he is in good shape and you can see and hear how it still affects him. I also liked his line when he said most people get up and get excited about hanging out with their friends and he wakes up excited to see how far he can push himself I feel that when I watch him. Thanks for the program it reminds me of younger days football, wrestling, and basketball workouts all wrapped into one. I wont quit. Thanks Mike D

I’m on week 8 of the Insanity program, I don’t know how fast its working for me honestly but I have got lots of complement over the past two weeks. I also lift weights and I feel so much stronger. Although I don’t eat bad, I really didn’t follow a diet plan. When I’m done with bmy 9th week I will start over from week one but this time with a diet plan. I believe in this program and feel if we all stick to it and work hard at it we will all get the bodies we dream about. Thumbs up to all my insane insanity user, good luck and stay focus

My boyfriend and i have been doing insanity for just four days. The biggest thing I have noticed is that without thinking my abs are tight throughout the day. I used to have to consciously tell myself “abs in” just to look thinner. Now I feel stronger and even though I know I haven’t lost anything yet I feel like I’m more beautiful.
My boyfriend has been noticing that his tummy is a bit flatter too.

I’m 24 214lbs and just started Insanity, P90x, and Turbo Fire. My goal is to lose about 35 to 40lbs and i want to lose all the flap on my stomach. I have done both P90x and Insanity before but never got the chance to finish them. I just got done with week one of all three programs and I’m eating way healthier limiting myself to about 1300 calories a day. I know i just started but I’m just wondering when the results will show?
Hello Matt,
I’m really not sure how this is going to turn out. Doing 3 programs at once and only eating 1300 calories per day could be dangerous to your health. Are you doing a workout from each program every day?? I’m sure if you are, you will lose wight and firm up everything on your body, but it’s probably not safe to only take in 1300 calories per day while doing all of that.

Im 16 and 5’11 Im On Day 25 Of Insanity and I Still Look The Same!!!!!!!!!!
I Was Wondering When Do You Start To See Results???????????
Also I Want To Get Bulky Because I Play Football And Need To Gain A Little Weight
Any Suggestions????????????
Hello Austin,
as Branden said below, take measurements and use a body fat tester. If are aren’t in bad shape to begin with, it might be difficult to visually see a change for a while. Since you play football, you body isn’t a stranger to working hard so I think you should just stick with it and keep track of your measurements. For football, if you want to gain weight, you need to hit the weight room. Plain and simple. Insanity is great for burning fat and toning muscle, but you aren’t using any heavy weights so any muscle gained wont be bulky or make you gain weight. Also, talk to your trainer about a good diet. When it comes to gaining good weight, eating can be tricky. You play sports and are using Insanity. So a lot needs to be factored in. You are also young and have a faster metabolism so try and use your schools and athletic programs resources and get on a good nutrition plan. The Insanity diet as well as the program as a whole, really isn’t for gaining weight. Don’t get me wrong, it will help your performance and lower your body fat percentage which is always a plus. You don’t have to stop using it, just hit the weight room a couple times per week and be sure to eat right.
Tip: Use heavier weights and do between 8 and 10 reps each set. If you can do 11, pick a heavier weight.

Hey Everyone,
I have been reading most of the comments and they seem to based on the scale and not losing weight so heres my story.
I am finishing my 2nd week and In the first week I lost only two pounds and I didnt think I look any different (Remember you look at yourself every day so your comparing yourself to what you looked like the last time you looked in the morror), but I kept track of the size of my Waist, chest, and thighs, and I saw results. I’m losing inches and I wasn’t in bad shape before as I am an avid runner.
After the first week of low weight loss I decided to do light workouts in the morning. I go to the gym do a few miles on the tread mill, nothing fast just a slow comfortable pace, then do light weight trainging, and the results have been amazing in the second week I dropped 4 more lbs. Just remember to keep it light, insanity is rough on the body (if your doing ir right anyway) so if you do other workouts its probably best to take it easy.
Hope that helps, if not stick with it!

Hey Mike,
I need your encouragement! I’m just finishing up week 4 and I’ve still seen no difference on the scale… (I know everyone is saying this) But I can definitely see some muscles showing up which is great but after 4 week no change? I recalculated my caloric needs and its still around 2500 with the exercise so subtracted 500 for weight loss, so 2000 which I don’t really even come close to in a day. I’m absolutely loving the workouts and the challenge and giving it my all so I’m not going to stop but I’d just like to see a little more results for the work I’m putting into it, ya know?
P.S. do you think it could have anything to do with me already losing 25 pounds before starting Insanity? My body’s tired of working hard to lose it? just a thought
Thanks!!!

So I’m in the 4th day of the recovery week so day 34 and I am 5’7 female . When I began I weighed 159 and now I weigh 155 and I only lost 4 pounds. I have been eating alot more healthy as well. I don’t know if that’s good but visually I can see a difference. I didn’t start to lose weight until after 3 weeks also I too at first was discouraged by only losing one pound I the first three weeks but then I lost 3 pounds in week four. So there is hope. I read that it’s not positive to gage success by the number on the scale but by how your clothes fit and by your measurements. So now I rarely look at the scale and go by my eyes and how I feel and look when I put on my clothes. Also I wanted to note the your gaining muscle at same time so it may delay your weight loss until the later weeks on the program. Just remember to combine a healthy diet along with the insanity workout and you should see your body transform.

Hello Everyone,
Insanity is a tough program that can be hard to keep up with, so congrats on sticking with it!
Here is what I think about Insanity:
If you start Insanity in ok shape and you already have some muscle, Insanity will raise your fitness level and improve muscle tone. You should still lose some weight, but the most significant improvement will be in performance and muscle tone. You will look more “cut” in the end, which is a good thing! If you have extra body fat, you should loose a lot of it and really notice a difference.
The level of intensity you work out with can make a huge difference in results. If you are just going through the motions, you wont get great results. You really do get out of it what you put into it. Following a healthy diet is also key if you are looking to lose weight. So you results are all relative to the condition your body is in before you start the program, how much effort you put into your workout and you intensity levels, you ability to stick to the program until the end and of course you ability to follow the nutrition plan.

INSANE!!!!! WOW i am on week 2, haven’t see the results yet but that will come shortly. I can’t follow Shaun T or his team to the T but as I push on i am doing better. I go at my own pace pushing pushing pushing! Oh… by the way… no one talked about the gallons of sweat you loose!
Hey Jonatha,
you are sure to get into great shape with your positive attitude! Keep it up!

Ok so I am 23 yo about to have my baby next month I’m around 210 lbs right now I am thinking to start the insanity workout after my doctor gives me the ok to workout. Prior to my pregnancy I was 140lbs size 3/4 I stand at a whopping 5’5 but I have a lot of muscle I tend to bulk up easily what is the probability I will be able to to go back down to my old size with insanity I will eventually start running when it’s warmer outside but I can’t count on the gym due to having a baby are my expectations realistic? I am not trying to set myself for failure.
Hello Nathalie,
if you are good with cardio, Insanity will help you burn lots of fat. You have to be able to keep up with the program in order for it to be effective. Insanity is tough, but if you can get over those first few weeks, you will be able to concur the entire program with great results.
The cardio in this program is definitely high impact, so id you have knee or joint issues, this may not be the program for you.

Jan 06, 2012 @ 22:25:18
Im 5’10″ 180ish male. I’ve been doing 100 push ups every other day for a year. It did help but I have a bit of a gut. I started this program awesome a go. I am drinking 2 protein shakes a day. One in am and one post workout. Will I put much muscle on? I know I will become leaner but I wanting to get a little bigger too.
Thanks
Hello Danny,
If you are looking for bulk, you probably wont get it from Insanity. There are no weights involved and you are only using your own body as resistance. You will get some muscle, but as you said, lean muscle.
If you have the time, I would add a day or two of weight training. Either at the gym or at home with free weights.

Hi, im 5″5 and wight 180 i would really want to loose about 40+ pounds on the insanity workouts. Im already in week 2 day 3 and i havent noticed any results yet. Im not on any strickt diet either just trying to eat healthier. (no fast food, soda, bread, etc.) I was reading some of the previouse coments and alot of people say they feel sore and tired the next day.. This is not my case. I was wondering if maybe i wasnt doing something right.. Or it just takes more time.
Jan 11, 2012 @ 19:20:13
So I’m on my 3rd day of Insanity, and already I feel like I’m about to die (i have never worked out in my life). I’m 16 years old about 165 to 170 pounds and I really don’t know what to do should I keep up? or should I try with another workout more fit for me?. because during the workouts I need to take a lot of breaks that are relatively long ( i usually take about a minute or 2). So I really need someones advice PLEASE!
Hello Gilbert,
Insanity is a tough program that isn’t for beginners. You might want to either start out with a less intense program, or start out by running 3 times per week and doing resistance training 2 times per week. Either way, you should try to do something else to prepare yourself for Insanity before you start. You could try the 10 Minute Trainer, Hip Hop Abs or Power 90.

I am on day 3 of the first week my body is sore as hell i pour sweat like crazy, i do insanity first thing in the morning before work, my question is how will this affect my weight training in the afternoon? i know i will loose mass with the cardio but should i increase my calorie intake? i’m starting to feel weaker as the days go by

I only have one bit of advise…. Stop weighing, start measuring!! I have a goal pair of non stretchy shorts! Once I fit into them, why would I even bother what the scales say?? Week 3 day 1 insanity! ( haven’t weighed and fitting into jeans that were cutting into my sides 2 weeks ago) persevere!!!
Jan 16, 2012 @ 21:35:34
I’ve started Insanity Day One and I am FREAKEN sore!!! Normally when I workout, I don’t feel sore until the next day…..this was instant sore! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I make it tomorrow!
See you tomorrow!!!

I am very frustrated but going to stick with it. I want to lose a total of 15 lbs. of fat!!! I have taken pictures every week and the second week from the start looks maybe 1% better but like I said I’m going to stick with it. I end up screaming during my workouts so I know I am giving it my all plus I run outside the program……thats why I am frustrated!!!!

I’m 5’4″, female around 138-140lbs started insanity back in September and made it through 2.5 weeks before I had to stop (for outside reasons, then I got too busy in my life to start it up again!). I just started my fit test today, and I’m super excited. When I did that 2.5 back in September, I noticed results in the middle of week 2. Everything felt less flabby – my thighs, butt, and midsection especially. I didn’t really noticed much weight loss at all – maybe a pound or two – but it didn’t matter. In only two and a half weeks I felt stronger, not to mention sexier and my clothes fit better. I am strictly vegetarian so I did not follow the diet plan, but I did increase my protein (tofu, quinoa, legumes) intake, drank raw juice and raw smoothies with Vega whole food optimizer. I’m looking forward to doing it again.

I am currently on my 3rd week of insanity day 3. I actually gained 4lbs and I understand that it’s probably muscle not fat. But I actually would like to lose about 15lbs. Do you think that this 4lb weight gain is only temporary and later on I will see myself losing weight or am I just going to continue to gain weight? I’m currently 5’0 and weigh 124lbs. I use to be 120 but I gained that 4lbs from doing insanity. If I continue on gaining weight I don’t think I want to continue doing insanity because I started this to lose weight. If I did my BMI 5’0 with 124lbs my BMI would be 24.2 which is borderline being overweight for my height. I want to lose weight so that my BMI is around 20 or 21. Please advise. Thank you!

Im 18 and i’ve been doing insanity for a week and a half. I am strictly following the meal plan and am only drinking water and occasionally a gatorade while I’m working out. However, i work out at like 1 and 2 in the morning, is that ok?
Hello Katie,
we all have different schedules and may need to work out at not so typical times. It is better to fit in your workout at a time that you can live with and stick to every day, rather than struggling to workout at an “ideal” time of day. You are more likely to succeed and stick to your program if you are doing it at a time that works best for you.
-Mike
Feb 16, 2012 @ 03:57:17
Also is it OK that I only eat about a thousand calories a day? I eat about 5 meals a day but they are very small meals around 200 calories! Sometimes I will exceed 1000 calories but for the most part its around a thousand calories! Is that enough?
Hello Katie,
it is enough as long as you are able to function properly through out the day, ie. being able to focus & not having energy crashes, and also having enough energy to get through you workout. If you aren’t feeling good most of the time, you may be running into some deficiencies and may need to increase your nutritional intake. Sometimes people who choose to eat way below the recommended daily caloric standards can sometimes be missing out on vital nutrients. If you are eating the right combination of foods and are feeling pretty good most of the time, you MAY be alright. If you have access to a nutritionist, you may want to double check with him/her to make sure you aren’t in the danger zone for deficiencies. When it comes to your health, you should always consult a doctor.

hello
i have been doing insanity for about 2 weeks and haven;t seen much results yet. I am trying my best to follow he nutrition plan but sometimes it just gets out of my hand. I want to know if i can still reach my goal of losing 25 pounds if i dont strictly follow the plan.
thanks
Hello Sully,
how strictly you follow the nutrition plan as well has the amount of effort you put in to your workout will effect your end results. BUT, if you are pretty good with your workouts and eat well most of the time, you still have a chance to reach your goals. You can’t be 100% perfect all of the time. That just isn’t realistic. If you are engaging in more physical activity (Insanity) than you have before, and eating better than you were before to starting the program, you will start to see a change. I’m sure once you get further into the program and start to feel really good about your progress, you wont have as many bad eating days because you will want to eat healthy.

I am 20 years old, i have been doing Insanity for 3 days now and i hurt all over…:( My main concern is that i stop often in the videos because, its so intense will it affect me for my goal to lose weight? Im worried i put my everything into the work outs, I just keep stopping for a few seconds sometimes minutes. Will that stop once iv been doing it for sometime?
Hello Angel,
trust me, you are not alone. Insanity is a hard workout. For someone trying to get back into shape it could seem impossible. You just have to keep trying and sooner or later, you will be able to complete more and more of the workout. Keep working at staying in longer and longer each day. It’s ok to take breaks, they all do in the video. Even Shaun T needs breaks. That’s why he stops to talk to the others! Just be sure to have enough water near by and don’t go into your workout if you are already tired from a long day or just waking up. You need a little bit of an energy boost before you start this program for sure!

Hi, I’m 19 year old male, I weigh 174 pounds, unfortunately I don’t know how much I weight before I started, but I think I was 178 maybe. I’m on day 12, I feel like my weight is stuck and I’m not losing weight. I don’t really remember if I was 178 I’m just guessing because I weighed few weeks ago to try out the weigh. Anyway, I might be stuck on 174, I wanna know what to do to lose weight with a faster pace, I’m on a tight diet plan but I never count calories, I just east little carbs, with even less or maybe no fats at all and a lot of proteins. also I noticed after workouts in the 2nd week, I feel less weak than I used to in the first weak. Like I’m not as sweating as much or as sore as much but I’m doing everything right as much as I can, I exchaust myself. One more question, will insanity help me lose thigh and butt weight? I dont’ care about abs I wanna have thinner waist and legs and thighs, will it help me? Please reply
Hello Exerciser,
you are still in the beginning phase of the workout and your body is probably just starting to realize what’s going on. You will start to see a change soon enough, it does take time and commitment.
If you want to accelerate your results, first you should be sure you are following the guidelines of the Nutrition Guide. The calorie values are of great importance if you are trying to lose weight. The workouts alone will tone and strengthen your body, but if you aren’t eating right, that could certainly slow your progress.
As far as your workouts, if you are comfortable with the intensity levels and you are able to complete the workouts in full, a way to increase intensity would be to add ankle weights. This will add an element of resistance and you will have to work harder. Only do this if you are comfortable completing all of the workouts without any added weight. You don’t want to go in over your head too soon as this could lead to injury.
There is a reason that these programs are 60 days or 90 day long. It take time to condition the body.

I’m on week 7… I am a mother of 3 and a very Pettit person, I’ve always been small but want to tone my body and flatten my mommy belly. I am 5ft and my starting weight was 100lbs I have gained 3lbs but I’m pretty sure it’s muscle weight. My problem is that while I know I’m “digging deep” and I do feel my body firming up, my belly is actually looking bigger and it’s frustrating me
I only have a few weeks left of insanity and like I said my body does “feel” different but it doesn’t look it… Does anyone know what may be happening?
Hello Migdalia,
you are most likely gaining muscle yes, but how is your diet? Are you following the nutrition plan?
A couple things could be happening here. The first thing is that you could be building muscles in your abdominal area. If you always had a flat stomach, but not much muscle, adding muscle may start to poke it out. If it’s just a body fat problem, it cold be that your tummy just needs a little more time to catch up! When we lose our body fat, we lose it all over, not just certain areas. It may seem that way, but for most people, extra fat is often stored in the midsection. So it could be that, despite your petite frame, you belly could have had more fat than the rest of your body and will be the last thing to shrink.

Hey, i have a question, im only on day 4, but im not using any recovery formula, im drinking Gatorade. would that be sufficient? or do i really need the recovery formula to make it through? also i do my insanity work out about 20 mins after i wake up and relax myself, does this pose a problem?
Hello Crossjackson,
the recovery formula is really more muscle recovery after your workout and as a protein and L-glutamine source. Gatorade may help you get through the workout in terms of hydration and energy, yes, as will the recovery drink if you mix a little in your water, but they do serve a different purpose.

Hi,
i’m starting week 2 of insanity, though i didn’t see any change yet, overall i feel stronger and healthier, i’m not following the diet plan but trying to get away from junk food in general and sticking to more healthy choices. i’m a 5.4ft and 143 pounds so i know that loosing weight will be a bit difficult, but i’m patient cause i’m loving the workouts. One thing that is extremely bothering me is my bloating belly it looks and feels bigger than it usually is before i started the program ?! could it be excess fluids or my body is in shock i don’t know plz advise ?
Thanks

I am on week 5 day 4. So far I’ve lost .5″ on my arms, 2.5″ on my thighs, 4″ around my love handles and 2″ around my hips. I’m really excited about my results so far and cannot wait for the next 30 days. I’m really curious to what my results will be when I’m finished. But I do have a question. Between week 3 & 4, I’ve noticed that I wasn’t losing too much. Is it possible that by working my body too long with little rest days that it could actually shock my body? I’ve heard that when someone works out in the first few weeks that the body can shed a lot of weight but then they have a halt with results. I started insanity not being over weight but definitely was chubby. Lol. Could I be experiencing that same thing? If so, perhaps it has to do with my metabolism? Are there ways to increase that?
Mar 22, 2012 @ 10:58:05
ok so im on my first few days ok insanity and it hurts so good…. i did notice that i not so out of breathe walking as i was up a hill walked up with out a problem. i havent seen any results other than that but hopefully i will. i been checking the scale alot but im going to lock it away .. its making me a lil disappointed …. i know soon my hard work will pay off

I’m starting my 3rd week of insanity. I’ve had no weight loss … But what is really bothering me is that my thighs have actually got bigger?? I do look more toned, but I don’t want my thighs to be bigger… That is already where I carry the most of my weight. Is this normal? Will they get smaller/leaner with this program? Thanks

I am on day 2 of Insanity, I am 19, 6′ 5, weighing 275 lbs (starting weight). I am extremely out of shape, but I am doing it with some good friends while we are at college. I have noticed a little reduction in the fat on my abdomen. The main thing that I am noticing is I am working to the point of almost passing out (actually happend on day #1) is there a way to prevent this? On day 2 I felt better with the workout but it was still intense. Overall I am very pleased with this program and I’m looking forward to getting in better shape.
Hello Martin,
the faint feeling after your workout could be a result of not taking in enough calories. Be sure and use the nutrition plan as a guide so you can be sure you are taking enough calories from the right foods to fuel your workout.
Not breathing during those tougher moves can give you a dizzy feeling and make you tired very quickly. Well of course you breath, but many people do hold their breath when trying to complete a tough move! This isn’t a good thing. Your body needs you to breath in oxygen which is needed to create energy more efficiently.

Hey guys!
I started Insanity Monday, April 2. Actually, to be honest, I did the Fit Test Saturday, and again Sunday. I skipped it Monday because I was too busy, but I went on to the next exercise Tuesday, and the next today. I am 34 years old, three kids (ALL c-sections), am 5’3″, and weigh approximatley 130 lb. (That was at the last doc visit about three weeks ago.) I typically eat pretty healthy, but go through bouts of binging on sweets from time to time (not excessively, I call it binging because it’s a lot for me). I do NOT drink soda, but do drink lots of coffee, well, until I started Insanity. I have worked in a sedentary job for the last 10 years.
I noticed a huge increase in my energy level on day 1. I feel stronger – yes I am sore, but not excessively. As far as my eating – I am being very strict about my calorie intake. For weight loss, the nutrition guide recommends about 1600 calories, according to the HBE calculations. I aim for 1400 to 1600 daily. I also googled protein requirements – and came up with an approximate need of 80g per day while I am doing Insanity. This has helped TREMENDOUSLY with my soreness, energy level, and recovery.
I wake up at 4:00 a.m. and immediately down a protein shake. Since this is liquid, I only have to wait about 30 to 45 minutes before I do my workout. This gives me the energy I need to get through it. While working out, I either drink water or Gatorade. Afterwards, I blend up a smoothie with a scoop of protein powder and drink that over the next hour while I am getting ready for work. When I get to work, I’ve been eating a measured 1/2 c. of low-fat oats and honey cereal, mixed with low-fat vanilla yogurt, instead of milk. I don’t drink milk anyway, so I got some almond milk to use in my cereals. For mid morning snack, I’ll either have a protein bar OR some fruit OR a TunaSalad kit. I’ve also been working out at lunch with some coworkers, doing a light stretch/resistance routine for about 20 minutes. Immediately after that I eat a LARGE salad for lunch. Mid day snack I have fruit OR a protein bar. Then I go home and make dinner for my kids, and either eat a TINY portion of that, or a bowl of Kashi Go-Lean cereal with almond milk.
This is not a huge change in my diet, but it is healthier, and I’m being more strict about it. The exercise is not something I’ve ever done.
I took measurements on Saturday, and before pics… my goal is to get down to 110 pounds, but the more I exercise, the more my focus changes to losing inches. I’ll be happy at 120 pounds if I look tone, and fit. My heartrate sky rockets during these workouts, and I sweat like crazy, and the lunch time routine helps stretch my muscles back out. I haven’t weighed myself since, and I don’t plan to. But I do plan on taking measurements every weekend.
I am optimistic that if I stick with Insanity and my diet, I will see the results I want. We have to remember that DIET is KEY for something like this!!! If you are not taking in enough calories – your body will STORE fat, not shed it. If you are taking in too many calories, your body will store fat. You can’t eat McDonalds and expect results –
Also remember that water is important because if your body is sweating it out, your body will retain whatever it thinks it needs, and you will NOT lose weight (scale wise). When doing a routine like this, remember that your body will turn fat into muscle before it sheds the fat…..
Quit worrying about weight so much – watch those measurements!!!
Good luck and KEEP DIGGING DEEP!!!!!!

I am 5’4 and weight 119 pounds. I’m on week 4 of Insanity and have gained 1 pound and don’t notice and difference. I do feel a lot stronger and my endurance has gone up. I have not really cut down calories but do not really eat any unhealthy food but do you think I am not seeing results because I am eating too little protein or my body is in starvation mode so I am not able to see results?

Hi! My name is Lily. I am turning 22yrs old tomorrow which is also my last day of month 1!!!
Here are my troubles…I know before I started the Insanity I weighted 118 lbs :/ I am 4’10 so to me that’s a lot! I was always slim and petite and athletic but I had my son 2 years ago and there went my nice flat abs! So I started doing Insanity about a month ago tomorrow and I am mostly doing it to tone my stomach. I don’t know if you ladies know what I mean by toning my stomach but I had a boy so my belly stretched and now im stuck with this lose fatty cellulity looking stomach!! I’m not sure if this is what Insanity will do for me but that’s why I’m doing it….as far as results I have not weighted myself yet I’m trying to wait til tomorrow…but what I mostly want is the toning bc overall the rest of my body is fine. I have noticed that my jeans fit better I dont feel as uncomfortable in them anymore which is great! But I failed to measure my waist and stomach bc I don’t have a measuring tape but my husband says that I am getting slimmer and my butt is more round and lifted lol so is Insanity going to tone this floppy stomach of mine? Its not that bad now I dont have a big belly or anything like that I just dont like the cellulite in my stomach or whatever this is. As far as my meals I do not follow the nutrition plan as I have to cook for my son and husband BUT I do cook pretty healthy. We eat mostly chicken and fish and always have veggies on the side..but we do have white rice along with beans (im hispanic so rice and beans are a must lol) and I cook with olive oil if I need it and I very rarely fry anything oh and I drink water no cokes or sugary juices I do drink lots of milk though and eat cereal once a day at least ….any of you ladies toned your baby belly cellulite fat with Insanity??
Hello Lilly,
it looks like you are on the right track. Belly fat is usually the last to go unfortunately. For most people, the midsection is where excess fat is stored. As long as you are exercising regularly and eating right, eventually your stomach will start to slim down. You have to lower your overall body fat percentage to see a difference in that area. Doing Insanity is actually a great way to achieve that, but if you want to give yourself a boost, try some resistance training once or twice a week. Working on large muscle groups like the legs and back can really rev up your fat burning capabilities. Also, take a look at the reply to TY (a few comments up). Any excess carbohydrates/sugars will be stored in your body (most likely the midsection) as fat. Limiting your sugar intake will help your belly slim down.
Although I am not a lady, I hope I was able to help!

Hi, I just finished week 1 of insanity and I did have 2 concerns. My first concern is that I have lost 25lbs using Weight Watchers since Jan 1st 2012 and I’m still doing weight watchers and adding a few things to eat in between so that I’m actually exceeding my point value just a little, but still not eat 2000 calories/day like I’m supposed to, I have no fatigue or energy issues is this ok? My second concern is that I’m not seeing any results yet, and I realize it’s only been 1 week, but I did 2 weeks of the Hip Hop ab rotations, and overlapped that with 1 week of p90x before starting to do only insanity. I figured I should see some sort of definition in some places of my body or some weight loss but neither seem to be changing. I’m putting as much into the work outs as possible, I am currently smoking and quitting on tues. but I can make it through 100% of the workout taking very few breaks to catch my breath.

Sorry if this double posted, it errored on my screen the first time.
I am doing insanity and I have 2 concerns…
1) I am currently on weight watchers for 3 months and lost 25lbs, I am still doing weight watchers but adding a few more healthy snacks during the day to try and get closer the calories that Shawn T wants me to eat based on the nutrition guide, but i’m not following his nutrition guide for insanity, is this ok?
2) I currently smoke and my quit date is set for tuesday (fingers crossed!) But i’m still able to complete each video and do about 85-90% of the workouts along with the group and only take small breaks to catch my breath. I also did hip hop abs and p90x for 2 weeks prior to stopping them both to start insanity. My concern is that I do not see any difference in my body, the way it looks, or my weight. I figured I would have lost a little weight or toned up a little bit by this point, 1 week on insanity and 2 weeks on the other videos (no gap in between so 3 full weeks of working out) but I am currently still stuck on my plateau weight of 177 as I have been for over a month with no real definition. Is this normal? It’s disheartening to think I’m putting in all this effort and It’s either not enough or not working… can anyone shed some light for me?

i have been doing insanity for about two weeks and i work out twice a day almost 7 days a week, clean diet, no outside foods, no stranger to these type of workouts (powerlifter, football player), but some of my shirts seem to have gotten little tighter, and my obliques have exbanded, can anyone shed some light on this, im 5’9, 190, and im 18 years old

Hi, I just started Insanity 4 days ago and I’m trying really hard to follow the nutrition guide exactly. My final meal ends up being quite late at night though, and I can’t really change it because of my current work schedule. If I eat my 5th meal, then do no physical activity will it prevent me from seeing results?
Also, I was planning on going to a relative’s house soon. Can I still follow the diet plan without fully following it? Like, should I watch for certain things? How do I eat on the plan when eating at someone else’s house? Feeling pretty stressed about this, I really want to lose weight!

I decided to do the insaintiy challenge, as the gym was not giving me enough. The clasees became boing and nothing was happening. I received the Insanity package and started right away. I have been doing insanity for 3 weeks now. I have taken pictures every week, and have not seen any substantial results in my mid section. I have noticed a big increase in my strength. The first time I completed the Cardo Abs, I was unable to complete some of the excersies. Last night when I completed thie section, I was astoinded at how much my strength had increased.
I see a change in my face, my arms are tighter, but my main focus are the abs. I live in Florida and want to be able to wear a bikini for the first time in 30 years, and feel comfortable. I have lost 45 lbs over the past 2 years and have always done it through the healthy way, eating and exercise. Now I am at the final stage and want the toned body. If I have to complete Insanity two times I will do it.
It is a tough workout, but well worth it.

So I’m going to California in about 2 weeks and I just got the insanity package. My question is since I only have two weeks to workout can I workout twice a day or three times to speed up results? I’m NOT expecting to have a muscle clad body, just enough for it to be noticeable. After I get back from vacation I’ll follow the workout properly. I just want to know if this is possible or not. Has anyone tried doing this? If not I’ll just go about it normally. Thank you.

hi
welll i been doing insanity for 2 weeks havent lost any weight is this normol cuz iam getting worried that iam doing some thing wrong iam at 230 but i can see a little of change in my body
Jun 19, 2012 @ 00:22:10
I’m a little worried here. I read a couple of the comments and I saw that some of you are eating 1000 calories a day. I’m 25 years old, weigh 145 and am 5’5 and I’m eating around 1600 calories a day. Is this okay or should I be eating less? I’ve been on insanity for a week now and I didn’t really see much change, I do feel stronger though. I want to lose weight and tone up.

Well I am planning on getting the workout. I am wondering what is the best nutrition to intake when doing all of this? I know healthier foods and substances are more expensive in stores. Any advice on what to eat?
I have been doing my own workouts. Jogging about 6 miles and doing sit ups, push ups and dips. I was 220lbs and got myself to around 190lbs within a month. I know I can lose weight on my own, I want to build back up my muscle. I know it’s under there. I am hoping this DVD works. Because I love being in shape and I want to know my body’s full potential.
The only thing that was my downfall into getting to 220lbs, was food. I am a great eater. So I want to know what exactly is good for nutrition to help get you greater results? Does the package thoroughly explain this?

Hi:I am 25 and starting weight was 168 .. I am 5’7… I just completed month 1 and I feel like I can last longer during the workouts. I am following the nutrition plan by the book… but I feel like I am too full sometimes from eating 5 meals. Sometimes I don’t want to eat. Will that mess up me losing the wieght I want to lose? I lost 3 lbs and 2in. in my waist so far… Should I have lost more??

Hi, I noticed that some of you were talking about how many calories you burned during the workouts and this may sound like a stupid question but how can I find out how many calories I’m burning? I read online that the average person burns 400 to 800 calories during the insanity workouts and I feel like I’ve really been pushing myself but for all I know, I could be on the low side as far as calories burned. By the way, I am 19 years old and 5’5 and 112 pounds and I’ve almost finished my second week of insanity.

Hi all! I absolutely love insanity! When I started insanity, I was at 230lbs, now I am almost done with week 2 month 2 and i’m at 213lbs. I’m super excited to see where I’ll be when I’m finished with insanity. At first I wasn’t really seeing results, but then by the end of the first month I had lost 11lbs. As soon as I hit month two pounds just came off like crazy. I’m almost at the end of week two month two and I have already lost 6lbs! So all of you who say you aren’t seeing results, just stick it out and you’ll see them soon. I’m not really following the nutrition guide, however I am watching what I eat, trying to stay at around 1200-1400 a day. I just want you all to know that insanity does work, you just have to push yourself, dig deep and stay motivated! good luck everyone!

I am on week 4 of insanity. I missed a few days because I was sick but, I’m back. I’ve noticed that since I’ve been doing insanity my energy has been down all day. I feel stronger but, I’m dragging. I am a mom of 3 and so I’m always tired and have had problems with low iron but, it just seems to get worse as the day goes on. Should I be taking some types of supplements to help me get through the day since I deplete so much energy after a workout. Also, I am not following the nutrition plan but, have adjusted my bad eating habits.
