How Insanity Workout Uses MAX Interval Training

Written by: Elizabeth Renter

Insanity Workout is designed to give you maximum results in only 60 days. The program can deliver on this promise due in part to MAX Interval Training. The system has made waves over the last several months as people across the country are getting their own dramatic results and pushing their bodies to limits they didn’t know they could achieve. From blogs to message boards, Facebook and Twitter, people are talking about Insanity like crazy!

MAX Interval Training isn’t the same as the interval training of years ago. Shaun T. flipped basic interval training on its head when he developed this program.

Traditional interval training features long periods of medium intensity exercise marked by short intense bursts of maximum effort exercise. MAX Interval Training is the opposite. With the MAX Interval Training in Insanity Workout, you put forth maximum effort for an extended period of time with a short burst of rest. Yes, this means you are giving the program 100% of your effort, about 95% of the time. And THIS is why it is so effective.

Using MAX Interval Training and the Insanity program, you can actually burn up to 1,000 calories in an hour. And while you are torching the fat, you are simultaneously building muscle—creating a toned and tight bod that will boost your confidence and definitely turn heads!

This isn’t a workout system to take lightly. In fact, you might have to be a little insane to do it. But, if you stick with Insanity Workout and the MAX Interval Training it provides, you will see major changes happening to your body and you will likely come back for another 60 days.

If you are ready for round 2—check out the Insanity Upgrade, offering 3 new Insanity workouts to multiply your results.

How to Increase Muscle Mass and Lose Weight

Written by: Elizabeth Renter

Two top fitness goals of both men and women are to increase muscle mass and lose weight. It only takes a few minutes to realize there are thousands of recommendations on the Web that claim to be the “best” way to achieve these goals. However, not everyone can be the best and when it comes to increasing muscle and losing fat—simplicity is king.

There are three things you want to pay attention to when trying to increase muscle mass and lose weight: Nutrition, Strength Training, and Cardio.

Your diet can make or break your fitness goals. Even if you are working out 7 days a week and doing intense training, you must keep your nutrition in line in order to see the best results. When trying to increase muscle mass and lose weight, a diet rich in lean proteins, vegetables, and whole grains is crucial. The key here is balance. Extreme low carb, extreme low fat, and extreme-anything diets seldom pay off in the long run. At meal times shoot for a plate filled with 50% veggies, 25% protein, and 25% whole grains. Occasionally you can cut back on the grains without ill effects.

Strength training is the next priority in your path to increase muscle mass and lose weight. You can’t build muscles of any size without weight training. A program like P90X teaches you simple strength training moves that can be done at home without a rack or expensive equipment. Instead you can train your whole body with your own body weight and a set of portable resistance bands.

Finally, cardiovascular fitness is crucial in losing fat and in keeping your heart and lungs healthy. Because you want to lose fat and not muscle, however, keeping your heart rate in the right place is crucial when doing cardio work. P90X cardio workouts are designed to work your heart without jeopardizing your muscle gains.

By aligning your actions (eating and working out) with your fitness goal to increase muscle mass and lose weight, there is no doubt that success can be found in a relatively short amount of time.

Be sure to also check out some of our high quality supplements to assist with finding the right nutritional balance for your workout program.

More About the Rev Abs Program

Written by: Elizabeth Renter

Rev Abs is a revolutionary workout system. Sure it promises tighter abs and a firmer stomach but the fact is, this program delivers on multiple fronts—helping you get fit in ways that reach way beyond your waist circumference. The key to the Rev Abs program is combining ab training with cardio intervals and total body strength training. By attacking your body from several different angles, the system ensures you are building up those muscles and burning the fat that covers them.

The Rev Abs program was designed by Brett Hoebel, a recognizable name in the NYC fitness training circuit. Hoebel developed what he calls Abcentrics to help people get those much sought-after rock hard abs. Abcentrics combines abdominal training, cardio, and strength training to tighten and tone your entire body while revealing a firmer, trimmer stomach.

Everyone wants six-pack abs and some of the gadgets on the market are evidence that people are willing to pay for just about anything to make those abs a reality. The bottomline is—they don’t need to. One high quality fitness program, like the Rev Abs program, is all you need to achieve the body of your dreams.

Having ripped abs isn’t just about doing countless crunches because face it—there’s likely some fat covering those muscles. You have to reduce body fat in order to see the muscle progress you are making. When you combine fat-burning cardio intervals and total body resistance training, you create a fat burning machine. Add to this a healthy diet, and the Rev Abs program provides the perfect formula for fitness success.

The Rev Abs program features 10 workouts including one on Capoeira, the hottest martial art in the fitness world. You also get an eating guide to help you fuel your body with delicious and easy meal plans and recipes. The Rev Abs program comes with many additional tools to help encourage your success.

This system isn’t just about crunches and sit-ups, it’s about developing a truly fit body where six-pack abs are just a symptom of your greater athleticism.

Debbie Siebers: A Bio

Written by: Elizabeth Renter

Debbie Siebers is most often recognized as the trainer behind the Slim In 6 series. And while this is an excellent program, worthy of recognition, there’s a lot more to Siebers than that. From her traditional Midwestern roots to a career in Los Angeles, Siebers has come a long way from cheerleading and lifeguarding.

According to her official Beachbody bio, Debbie Siebers was a regular girl in Wisconsin. She was a cheerleader for her high school and also did gymnastics. But, like many teenage athletes, her activity level dropped after graduation. The summer after he high school career ended, she is quoted as saying she gained over 20 pounds and became a “compulsive overeater”. It wasn’t until she left home and moved to LA that she took her fitness and health seriously.

As Debbie Siebers lost the weight and got more toned, she realized that exercise was about more than a cute figure, it was completely fulfilling. She then became a trainer at that original gym she joined in LA and has been in the fitness industry ever since. She has been in the business for over 25 years and is a certified member of the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA).

Although the name Debbie Siebers is connected to many workout programs, the Slim In 6 series is likely the most popular, reportedly grossing over $90 million worldwide.

It’s popular because it works and because Debbie Siebers is the type of trainer that people like. She has a positive attitude and isn’t just a pretty face. Siebers knows fitness and isn’t like the paid celebrities you see gracing the covers of other home workout programs—she is a fitness professional.

Here at ExtremeBody Workout, we carry several of the Slim In 6 products including the original Slim In 6 program, the Slim Series, and Slim Series Express. Check out the product pages for additional information on each package and more on Debbie Siebers.

More on P90X Cardio X

Written by: Elizabeth Renter

Cardio X is just one of the many workout DVDs in the P90X collection. Interestingly, however, it’s one that you don’t even have to touch if you don’t want to. Yes, you can do the entire P90X workout program without ever seeing what P90X Cardio X is all about. As a matter of fact, it isn’t even included in the Classic Approach workout calendar. So, what is it and why is it included?

P90X Cardio X is a purely cardio workout. It does serve several purposes despite not being on the P90X Classic Approach calendar.

First, Cardio X plays a big role in the P90X Doubles Approach. If you are already quite fit or have completed the entire P90X 90 day program, you may be up for the P90X Doubles challenge. P90X doubles increases the number of workouts you do each week, ensuring that your body has a progressive challenge ahead of it, ensuring greater results. Beginning in Phase 2 of the Doubles approach, you will add P90X Cardio X to three of your workout days.

P90X Cardio X is also part of the P90X Lean Approach. In the quest to burn fat without bulking up, many women choose the Lean approach, hoping to get slim and lightly toned definition. Cardio X is a great workout for this system as it keeps the heart pumping without sacrificing muscle tone.

For all P90X approaches, however, P90X Cardio X is also a good substitute. If one of the cardio workouts in the series gives you a hard time or if you simply aren’t up for Plyometrics one day, using Cardio X ensures you get a good cardio workout without the intensity of some of the others.

Cardio X strikes a balance between working hard enough to get an excellent workout but keeping you below your anaerobic threshold to ensure you don’t burn off any muscle in the process. Next time you’re due for a cardio workout, give P90X Cardio X a try.

Are Your Ready for Your P90X Transformation?

Written by: Elizabeth Renter
tagged
Tagged: ,

I’m not asking if you’re ready to commit 90 days to the P90X program because I know that targeted enthusiasm may die out within the next few months. By asking you if you’re ready for your P90X transformation, I am reminding you to keep your eyes on the prize, so to speak. When you embark on an intense workout program like P90X, you need to have your goals set and ready. It’s very easy to fall off the workout-wagon and we want to ensure you have every possible aspect of your life working in your benefit.

So, how can you prepare for your P90X transformation? For starters, you can say goodbye to your love handles, spare tire, and any other extra body parts you’ve been hanging on to. If you truly commit to this program, you will find the P90X transformation to be extreme and extremely life changing. So, all those areas of your body that spill through the cracks of your clothes or cause discomfort may very well soon be gone. If you’ve grown attached to your third chin or your thunder thighs, you may want to reconsider the program, because they won’t last long.

Another way to get ready for the P90X transformation—begin a shopping fund. The clothes you are wearing now will not fit in 90 days if you stick with this program. Start putting aside some spending money each week so that when you complete your 3 months of hardcore training, you can reward yourself with some clothes that actually fit. (An added motivator!)

Finally, the best way to ensure you are completely prepared for your P90X transformation is to kick the self doubt to the curb. Your negative self-talk can have disastrous effects on your fitness goals, not to mention life in general. Believe in yourself and see yourself in your dream body! You have the power to achieve this dramatic transformation and this fitness program will be there to help you along the way.

Using Heart Rate Monitors Ratings

Written by: Elizabeth Renter

In the search for an effective fitness device or any fitness product, researching all of your options helps to ensure you get the right item for your specific needs. Using consumer reports, blogs, and ratings systems will assist you in getting the perfect product. Heart rate monitors are no different. Using heart rate monitors ratings found online can be beneficial when you are comparing a few different models.

There are many sources out there for heart rate monitors ratings and reviews. Verify that the source is a reputable one, like a recognized company, nonprofit, or individual consumer before taking what they say as the truth. Also, remember to check more than one source in your research.

Heart rate monitors are an excellent tool when you are doing an extreme fitness program. They help you gauge just how hard you are actually working and can keep you motivated to work at a greater intensity throughout your workouts. Heart rate monitors ratings will help you choose which monitor is right for your specific fitness needs.

We carry a few different heart rate monitor models, all of which can be found with good heart rate monitors ratings through various resources online. The Reebok Heart Rate Monitor with or without Strap and the Bowflex Heart Rate Monitor for women are all top of the line fitness machines from reputable and recognizable brands.

The best monitors should have basic feature like a reliable read out and target heart rate zones. They should also be easy to use and durable for those seriously intense workouts. Finally, they should get positive feedback on heart rate monitors rankings and reviews.

If you’ve ordered any of our heart rate monitors and wish to submit your own ranking and review, simply click on the product and scroll to the bottom to give it some feedback. Other shoppers will appreciate your input.

Creating an Insanity Workout Blog

Written by: Elizabeth Renter

Everyone blogs and if you’ve toyed with the idea of starting your own blog, the Insanity Workout program offers you an excellent opportunity to do just that. Think about it: you are undertaking a serious fitness program, one that lasts at least 60 days. It may very well be the most difficult physical feat you have yet to do. You will need all the support you can get. An Insanity Workout blog will give you that added support as you journal your day to day experiences and share them with the world.

Blogging is not that difficult. There are a few popular free blogging platforms out there that make it super simple to start your own Insanity Workout blog. Check out Blogger and the free WordPress site for more information on setting up your blog and making it look good.

Blogging is simply a high tech way of journaling. Consider your blog your workout journal. Whether you choose to blog everyday or only certain days, set a schedule and commit to it. On those set-aside blogging times write about the recent workouts you have done, the foods you have been eating and any struggles you might be having. You may be surprised at just how motivating keeping an Insanity Workout blog is.

Studies show that people who keep food diaries are more likely to reach their fitness goals than those who do not. If that’s the case, there’s no doubt in my mind that keeping an Insanity Workout blog, complete with workout summaries and diet information can increase the odds that you will achieve fitness greatness with the Insanity Workout program.

In addition to providing you with the added support, imagine how your Insanity Workout blog will help others. Many people take to the Web when researching a fitness product. Your blog could help others achieve their own goals and actually create some new online friendships.

An Insanity Workout blog serves many purposes. Like your workouts—the more you put into it, the more you will get out.

What Rev Abs Offers that Ab Gadgets Don’t

Written by: Elizabeth Renter

Rev Abs is another fairly new product we feature here at ExtremeBody Workout. It seems that when it comes to “get fit fast” schemes, the abs are frequently targeted. This could be because a flat belly is seen as a sign of overall health or because a six-pack is simply sexy. Whatever the reason, there are tons of gadgets and gimmicks out there to get your abs ripped. The problem with many of them, however, is they are nothing more than a fad. The only way to get real lasting abdominal results is through hard work and a program like Rev Abs.

Rev Abs was created by Brett Hoebel. Hoebel has been in the business of getting people fit for more than 15 years. He is credited with training many celebrities and regular people just like you and I. When it comes to effective ab workouts, he knows a thing or two about success.

Abcentrics is how Hoebel refers to the science behind this program. Instead of targeting one or two groups of muscles in the abs, the Rev Abs system hits them all and it does this using ab training, interval cardio, and strength training altogether.

With your Rev Abs program you get 10 workouts. With this many workouts, there’s no question that you will work your entire body and build the tightest abs ever. You also get a nutrition guide filled with meal plans and recipes for both men and women. Several tools come with the program as well, helping to get you to your fitness goals.

Rev Abs isn’t the next fad or a new gimmick. This program is one designed to give you real, lasting results without all the hype!

Is High Intensity Interval Training for Weight Loss?

Written by: Elizabeth Renter

High intensity interval training for weight loss is a tried and true method. High intensity interval training, better known as HIIT is an excellent way to burn fat while building stamina, endurance, and power. Depending on the workout program you are doing, some HIIT workouts, like Insanity Workout, also assist you in building muscle tone and strength.

Using high intensity interval training for weight loss is one effective way to get fat off relatively quickly. In the real world, there are no magic get-thin-quick programs. Only through hard work can you achieve and keep your dream body. However, some approaches are faster and more effective than others. HIIT is one of those.

The reason high intensity interval training for weight loss works so well is it causes your body to repeatedly achieve its limits. It pushes your body to train and develop like no other approach. This is because you are working at your maximum effort for fairly lengthy periods of time.

With Insanity Workout and the MAX Intervals Shaun T puts you through, your body gets very little time to recover between intervals. You continually expect more from your body and like the magnificent machine it is—it delivers.

Using high intensity interval training for weight loss is not unusual, many people do it. In fact, some say that HIIT allows you to get a better cardio workout that stands less chance of causing you to deplete your muscles. In other words—you are burning fat!

If you are considering high intensity interval training for weight loss, think about the Insanity Workout program. Check out some of the reviews we have posted on our product page and get ready to work like never before and see results you may have never thought possible.

Looking for a ChaLEAN Extreme Blog?

Written by: Elizabeth Renter

chalean_with_weightsChaLEAN Extreme is one of the better home fitness programs on the market. It doesn’t get the publicity that some of our others do but that doesn’t mean it’s any less effective. Look around the net and you will find many ChaLEAN Extreme blogs discussing how the program has worked for them. It is a workout system created to build muscle and increase metabolism, because “Muscle Burns Fat!”

A ChaLEAN Extreme blog should take you through the program. We aren’t talking about a single entry review of ChaLEAN Extreme, but a complete blog dedicated to a day by day breakdown of the system. Some people prefer to do entries 2 to 3 days a week, giving us a glimpse into their progress—and that works great. A ChaLEAN Extreme blog like that can provide great motivation to others out there doing the program.

If you’ve considered blogging yourself, a new fitness program is an excellent way to get started. With a ChaLEAN Extreme blog, you can not only give other people information about the program and how it works but you can also hold yourself accountable for your daily workouts. Similar to the way a food diary helps people succeed on a diet plan, a blog can help you succeed on your fitness goals.

Whether reading a ChaLEAN Extreme blog or starting your own, remember that you will get out of the program what you put into it. It takes a lot of mental power to push yourself to your physical limits and much of fitness success can be directly attributed to mental rather than physical power.

Also, if you are interested in finding a ChaLEAN Extreme blog that discusses diet and other fitness programs, bookmark the blog here at ExtremeBody Workout. We update the site daily to provide worthwhile information on ChaLEAN Extreme and all of our other workout programs.

Is P90X For Women?

Written by: Elizabeth Renter

j0422190Gone are the days of Jane Fonda and leotards. Women today know they can take on bigger fitness challenges and reap the rewards of a truly tough workout. Despite this, we still see some people wondering if P90X is appropriate for women. To them we say: Without a Doubt! P90X for women provides a great way to burn fat and gain muscle tone. Regardless of your gender, P90X can create the body you’ve always wanted.

Using P90X for women is often more about losing fat than it is building muscle. Sure, keeping nice muscle tone is important for a great physique, but many women enter a fitness program because they want to reduce their body fat. Whether fat loss or muscle toning is your primary goal, P90X is a great choice.

While any of the approaches are appropriate for females, the most popular P90X for women is the Lean Approach. The P90X Lean approach is cardio-heavy. It appeals to women who like cardio work more than resistance training and want to focus on burning calories more than building muscle. Although all of the P90X methods will drop fat, this one will not put on as much muscle, potentially leading to a greater number of pounds lost.

Using P90X for women shouldn’t be about whether it is right for your gender, but whether it is right for your fitness goals and your lifestyle. If you are prepared to put everything you’ve got into getting the body of your dreams, P90X may be the right system for you.

Take a look around at P90X blogs online and you will find that many women have achieved great success with the program. One of our favorites of the P90X bloggers is Erin. You can check out here weekly progress here on her blog where she is now documenting her second 90 day session of P90X.

The bottom-line is: ladies, don’t sell yourselves short! P90X is just as much for you as it is any man. Give it a shot and you won’t be disappointed.

All About Protein Rich Snacks

Written by: Elizabeth Renter

j0442444When you enter the world of fitness and nutrition, protein is everywhere you turn. Protein shakes, protein bars, protein supplements—it’s everywhere! But why? Knowing why you should be eating protein rich snacks is just as important as actually eating them. You can’t fully reap the benefits of something you don’t fully understand. High protein foods are an excellent addition to an active lifestyle, particularly one with fitness goals on the horizon. Let’s look at some of the reasons why.

Weight Loss– Studies have shown that a diet rich in lean protein can be effective in the battle of the bulge. This is because lean proteins will take the place of higher calorie foods within the diet. If you up your consumption of chicken breasts, seafood, and protein rich snacks, you will decrease your consumption of the bad stuff, leading to greater weight loss.

Muscle Development– A high protein diet is one of the core tenets of a bodybuilders lifestyle. Bodybuilders are on to something. Protein helps mend torn muscle tissue after a strenuous workout. This mending leads to increased muscle mass, by continually patching up the trauma that strength training does. Don’t worry about the “trauma” or “tears”, that’s exactly how muscle is built. A protein rich snack after a strenuous workout is an excellent choice.

Decreased Hunger– There is evidence that a diet rich in protein is more satisfying. A study out of Denmark in 2005 stated that protein rich snacks and foods kept people satisfied for longer than fats or carbohydrates. This means greater fuel for your day and less of a crash between meals. A satisfied belly is a belly less prone to wayward snacking and diet blunders.

There are numerous reasons why you should include protein rich snacks in your diet and these are just a few. Having things like protein bars, shakes, chicken breasts, nuts, and low fat cheeses around for when hunger strikes is a great way to ensure your body has the fuel necessary for your fit lifestyle and those goals you are reaching towards.
