Using Omega 3 Cookbooks to Increase Omega 3 Consumption

j0432911You would have to be living under a rock for the last several years to have not heard of the many benefits of a diet rich in Omega 3 fatty acids. However, if a rock is where you’ve been then let me quickly break it down for you. Omega 3 fatty acids are essential fats that are not naturally produced by the body. Instead, we must get these fats from food sources, one reason people are searching for Omega 3 cookbooks online on a daily basis.

All the benefits of these essential fats are still being researched but we do know they are powerful anti-inflammatory and can promote good circulation to the brain. There is evidence that they can aid in the reduction of symptoms related to mood disorders like depression and anxiety and even lower your risk for heart disease and certain cancers. Because foods rich in Omega 3’s aren’t high on the list of those things in a common American diet, incorporating them into your diet can be tricky. Omega 3 cookbooks can assist with this conundrum and get you on the right track in cooking with Omega 3s.

I found a few Omega 3 cookbooks that may be worth checking out. Make sure you do a little research and look for potential reviews on these books, as I haven’t personally had the chance to check them out. The first, Omega 3 Cuisine, is written by Alan Roettinger, a private chef that has prepared foods for a U.S. President and a Prime Minister.

The second of my two Omega 3 cookbooks picks is called The Top 100 Omega 3 Recipes. This book is written by Audrey Deane and Penny Doyle. It contains recipes like seafood lasagna and Pissaladiere, similar to a pizza.

Using Omega 3 cookbooks to increase your Omega 3 consumption is a great idea. If you find you still need additional Omega 3 sources in your diet, refer to this blog. Simply by searching for “Omega 3” in the search bar to your right you will find several entries about how to easily add this important group of essential fats into your diet.
