P90X Formula: Peak Recovery for Increased Success

Written by: Elizabeth Renter

p90x-peak-recovery-iMany people first become interested in the P90X Peak Recovery Formula after hearing Tony Horton discuss it in the P90X workouts or after seeing it in their P90X materials. The P90X Formula is designed to give people optimal recovery for their P90X workouts. This drink mix goes far beyond any other nutritional shake and provides the body with the nutrients and fuel it needs following a workout as strenuous as P90X.

Here at ExtremeBody Workout, we recommend the P90X Formula be part of your initial program start up. While there isn’t much you need for the dramatic results with P90X, the Recovery Formula will ensure your body is getting the nourishment it needs for serious success.

During the workouts, your body undergoes some intense stress. Your muscles will experience trauma in the effort to get bigger and stronger. You will sweat and you will use up your glycogen stores for energy. The P90X Formula was designed with all of this in mind.

P90X Recovery Formula provides the body with protein to assist in the repair of those muscle tissues. Muscle growth happens through tiny traumas and their subsequent repair. Protein is the nutrient responsible for this repair and the P90X Formula ensures you are getting a good dose of it when you need it most.

The P90X Formula also works to replenish all of that spent energy but replenishing your glycogen stores and ensuring your cells have fuel to thrive. It’s packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to promote better overall health and wellness.

When taken immediately following a workout, the key ingredients in the P90X formula are quickly absorbed for maximum benefits. The hour or so following your workouts is a crucial window in which you can feed the body a perfect combination of ingredients to ensure maximum recovery.

P90X Recovery Formula is the perfect nutritional companion to the P90X system.

Does anyone know if we need protein drinks for the cardio – endurance work-outs like Plyo, Yoga or Kenpo? Or, is it a matter of taking a protein shake to help obtain your required amount of servings/day?
Not quite sure as these moves are not nec. ” muscle-building” in the traditional sense. Any advise would be helpful. Thanks

    Hello Ernie,

It’s a good idea to make the protein shake and/or recovery drink a part of your daily diet while working out with the P90X. Wether you have a recovery drink after your workout, or you have a protein shake for a snack. If you are following the Meal Plan Approach of the Nutrition Plan, the protein shakes are to get required servings of protein in, and the recovery drink is for after your workouts and also a snack requirement. If you are following the P90X schedule, you should have a recovery drink after every workout, cardio and resistance.

I bought last week, on my trip to chicago, everything to start the program but the P90X Peak Recovery Formula. As I live in Mexico, it is imposible to get the recovery formula. Is there any similar drink or vitamins I can buy here in Mexico? We have GNC.
What would be the difference between having the Peak Recovery Formula and the similar drink you suggest?

    Staff

    Hello Jose,

You can certainly grab some supplements from GNC that would be similar, but probably not the same combination in one. Some of the key ingredients are:

    Glutamine
    Creatine
    Whey Protein

You can certainly find these supplements separately. Make sure you are looking for a recovery supplement and ask about these key ingredients.

Hi i startet this program two month ago and its difficult to create or define my muscule. These recovery drink and the multivitamins help me to increase my muscles? if its not how can i increase my muscles?

    Staff

    Hello Joue,

The recovery drink will help your muscles repair after your workouts which will help them build. Protein is important when it comes to defining muscle. Try either the recovery drink and maybe the protein bars, or a whey protein shake. You can find all of these supplements at the following link:

    Jose,
I am on my 4th week of P90X and I have found a recovery drink similar to that of the P90X from Beach Body. It has the propper patented 4:1 carb/protein ratio that is essential for peak recovery after strenuous workouts. It’s called Endurox R4 and can be purchased at any GNC. Tangy Orange tastes great and you will want to work out just so you can drink the stuff! Hope this helps.

    Hi,
Is anyone concerned with the amount of Vitamin E in the P90X products? My trainer is cautious about the extreme amount of Vit E but thinks that everything else looks great. He has even followed up wtih researching effects for this amount of E and the studies seem to back his reservations.

Vitamin E is the least toxic of the fat soluble vitamins, but according to Canadian reccomendations, the reccomended daily intake should be about 15 mg/ day, and should never exceed 1000mg/day. Intake greater than this dosage will cause toxicity related symptoms, such as the reversal of the effects of any anti-clotting medicines you may be on. How much vitamin E does the p90x shake contain per serving anyway?

I have been doing the program for almost a month and would like to try the recovery drink/ protein bars but I am allergic to Gluten and I’m trying to find out if there is gluten in the recover drink/protein bars? Or if there are any other suggestions on non-gluten substitues! Thanks! Shaleena
