I had the privilege of having a brief conversation with Tony while in Burbank one week ago today. He encouraged me to visit the P90X website and I did. Come to find out, it was him (he did not reveal who he was at the time). Doing this home workout seems practical for limited living space, where workout equipment would take up too much room.
Question: Is the chin up bar absolutely necessary? For a condo rental, I don’t believe that installing one would be permissible.
Hi Gena,
You can actually use the resistance bands along with the upgrade kit to do modified versions of the exercises. Here is a link for further info on the bands and the kit:

What would you recommend to loose a lot of weight? Will this help loose weight or just tone and cut the weight you already have?
Jul 17, 2009 @ 09:20:07
Hi Michael,
If you can stick to the workout schedule, and follow the nutrition plan, the P90X can help you to loose weight and tone up. The workouts will whip you into shape, no doubt, but the nutrition plan is specially designed to complement the workouts and maximize your fat burning ability.
If you are more concerned with loosing weight and aren’t too interested in increasing you athletic ability, go for the lean approach. Otherwise, go with the classic approach. Both of these approaches are included with the P90X.

I live in Taiwan so it’s not easy to follow the nutrition plan. Also, we don’t get all the vegetables you have in the US…and vice versa. I do love my veggies and fruit. Plus most imported food is expensive here. Local food is much cheaper. Any ideas?
Hello Taike,
I would take a look at the portions approach approved foods list and see what you can get locally from there. Otherwise, try and make substitutions where you can. For protein, try to stick to lean meats, fish, etc, carbs should be whole grain, dairy should be low fat or fat free, and most fruits and vegetables are great to have so you should be ok in that department! Honestly, a lot of American food in my opinion is just not as good as foods from other countries. There are a whole lot of additives and convenience seems to have taken precedence over nutritional value! I have family in Puerto Rico and there is so much more fresh food, fruits and vegetables, it’s great!!! Maybe it’s the tropical weather. You will probably have an advantage!

I’m a lacto-ovo vegetarian and I just purchased the P90X. Any suggestions for modifying the diet to my specific dietary needs? I don’t eat any meat, fish, poultry, etc..
Thanks!

Hi, started P90x a week ago. Got de-railed on day 5 when I did legs and Back and then went to soccer practice for my Over 30 team and strained my left Quad. It has been 72 hours and the leg feels better. still a little soreness and stiffnes, but not bad. When would you recommend I start up my workouts again? I think I actually want to start week one over again. Thoughts?

Hey I’m in the 2nd week of training block 2. I am still at the same weight that I was when I started. I have seen results in my performance but no weight change. I know I may be building muscle so the scale may not be the way to go, but I just thought I’d be losing maybe a few pounds atleast. I work graveyards so my eating schedule and sleep schedule is different than normal. I’ve been trying to follow the nutrition plan as well. Any help? Thoughts?

Hello,
My name is Michael. I’m almost 23 years old, 5’11″, and I weigh 225 lbs. I have probably about 45 lbs I would like to lose and build muscle and definition. I just started Day 1 of P90X. I brought it and I’m pretty sore. Lol. My problem is that I’m not any good at meal planning. Reading the nutrition guide is brain numbing but I do my best. Here was my day 1 menu:
I split my meals to 5 small meals for the day and had a daily vitamin. But my calories only add up to about 945 for today. Is that not enough? Even though I followed the workout and I did 5 small meals (1 meal every 3 hours), had vitamin, and had the right food groups? Meal 1 was an egg on a whole wheat english muffin, meal 2 was a protein bar – then I worked out, meal 3 was 1 banana and 1 can of tuna, meal 4 was some green salad and a fruit cup, and meal 5 was lean slices of roast beef with some more salad – then I did the ab ripper before bed. I also drank about 9 cups of water.
The calories add up to approximately 940.. and that’s like half the amount it shows you should eat.. is this unhealthy? I have a lot of fat and am used to eating fatty foods and drive through fried stuff. Please give me advice on if this is healthy, if it will make me burn fat faster, if its ok or if I should add stuff and if so – what I should add.
And should I continue on classic or start with lean?
Thanks.
