I bought P90x Plus after getting great results fromP90X. Body fat reduced from 13% to 7%.
I do not recommend p90X+, it is a very hastily put together video, Tony rushed a lot and i have gone back to P90X and do it 4 times a week and 3 days i run.
Stick with P90x and pass on the plus!

I am a P90x junkie. I completed my first week of P90x+ and it is fantastic. The Interval segment is exactly what I expected from Tony Horton. “I hate it but I love the challenge.” The Kempo Cardio is a waste of time. It is not as intensive as the others. In fact, I believe it is the weaker of all the P90x series. Tony did not “Bring It” on that one. My advise to Tony is, Maintain the High Level of Intensity.

Next month I turn 52. I am in the middle of the third week of P90X. Results so far – Beginning weight 181 – today 168.5. From a 36 waist to 33. Sticking with the diet plan and I feel great. Working out, eating right for the first time in years. Everyone has noticed the difference. My wife can’t believe that I have given up on junk food.

Keep up the good work guys! Keep “bringing it!”

P90X rocks. I hate tv, and infomercials, and generally dislike hyped up products. I wieghed 232 lbs prior to doing p90x. I have been doing it and a bit of additional training in the gym for 4.5 months. My body fat 4.5 months ago was 35% – direct result of working 16 -18 hour days for the past three years. After 4.5 months and doing p90x, by body fat has dropped from 35% to 11%, and my wieght has gone from 232 to 193. In spite of that drop, i have added a load of muscle, but still a net wieght loss of almost 40 pounds. I have very fit friends, gym fanatics, and marathoners included who are now using p90x. It is time for p90x+ and hope it takes me to the next level. Target 4% body fat. Thanks Tony!

I loved the challenge of P90X. I didn’t have much weight to lose but I did get stronger and more defined. P90X Plus is a bit of a disappointment. The workouts are rushed so that they seem shorter. You lose that time in backing up to see how the moves are properly done. With the exception of Interval Plus, these workouts just don’t seem to be as intensive as P90X. Tony Horton is still pretty good but his assistants are the same throughout the series. The different faces of P90X graduates is a strength of the original program.

I have been doing p90x for a year now, i have seen more than amazing results from it and i wanted to change up with something new, because like tony says “variety is the spice of life”. i personally like the lifting videos more because i had been trying to get more muscular, i had even been doing Back and bi with Chest, shoulders and triceps on fridays because i really like working on the upper body. P90x plus’s weight training workouts werent the best i have seen, like the upperbody plus, it is good but i would rather do back and bi combined with chest, shoulders tri. and i havent even tried the full body because i had watched it after one of my workouts and i didnt think it would be worth it, those are the only negatives i had toward p90x plus, the positives are that i really really really enjoy doing kenpocardio and the interval X, i replaced the morning cardioX with kenpo cardio because Cardio X got so boring to me that i would end up just running in the morning instead but kenpo cardio is fast paced and you barely have any down time which was the best thing about it in my opinion, the Interval X, i dont even know where to begin.. I started off thinking that there is no way it would be hard for me because i had been doing plyo all the way through without needing breaks, but Interval X seemed to take it to a different level, by the end i was soaked in sweat and i loved every second of it ( i knew i had gotten a good workout in)
In all, i love P90x and have seen amazing results and Tony Horton is a HUGE inspiration to me. I hop[e he makes new P90x videos that are more concentrated on weight resistance but the reason he is rushing in plus is because you really know all the moves and it could be done in a faster way, such as kenpo cardio, you arent doing jabs, and high/in/out/down blocks standing in one spot but since you already know those moves he puts them in the workout while you are kicking and punching. I will go ahead and say that it is worth the money but only to combine it with the p90x dvds that you have, which i believe is what the point of them was in the first place. it is a change of pace for cardio fans but for people like me, who love doing push ups and pull ups, you may be disappointed. I will probably buy more things that tony comes out with just because of how p90x changed my life (lost 100 pounds) and he has inspired me in many aspects of my life. but i would give p90x plus a C rating.

I think that p90x plus is stuff but the resistance workouts are based on a time thing not a rep thing I liked it to be based on reps I finished p90x in november 2009 and I started p90x plus In early December 2009 I’m currently at week 8 I will finish out the plus series then go back to p90x but I was thinking of combination as far as switching up plyo and interval x and staying with the new kenpo even though I don’t care for kenpo at all to be honest and also switching up ab workouts one thing I do like about the plus series is that on upper body plus the different styles of pushups it’s a nice change of pace also some of you say that it isn’t as intense I don’t know how you can say that with how quickly you go from one exercise to the next I’m always left exhausted when I’m done I think the problem with the plus is that it’s nit focused on certain body parts as much it’s too much of a combination that’s what I like about p90x better it’s more focused on what ur working on during that particular exercise besides core synergistics which is a great workout .

Hey Team,
I’m currently awaiting the arrival of P90X in the mail, but I have a question that I cant seem to find online:
Will this system allow me to add some muscle mass? I’m slightly soggy around the midsection, so Im certainly looking forward to the cardio….but I would like to acquire some larger bisceps or thighs.
Thanks
Mar 29, 2010 @ 10:17:39
Michael,
There is no question that P90X can help you build muscle mass. It’s not just about burning fat, it’s a bout building muscle too.
Think you’re a little “soggy” around the midsection? Wait until you meet the Ab Ripper X workout! P90X will also have you covered on the biceps too. Remember it’s not specifically a weight loss program. It’s a total body system. Good luck and feel free to stop by anytime.

My boyfriend and I have followed the P90X routine for the last year. We recently discovered P90X plus and we love it. It’s refreshing, intense and shows results. Kenpo Plus is the only draw back, it’s way too fast to folllow along and the least intense. We wish Tony came out with more of these plus videos. I don’t have any problems doing any of the P90X videos but the plus are pretty tough which I love.

Thanks for the comment Laura. Many people wonder about the P90X plus workouts. They are really intense and you have to be ready for them!

I finished p90x and now going through round 2 and I have started adding p90x plus routines to it. I switch it around. I have read reviews about kempo cardio plus that it is waste of time. I think it is personal perference. I find it quite intense if you keep up with dvd and yes it is quite fast. I did find abs routine not so intense at first. One has to hold the squeeze to feel the burn with that one.

My wife and I have been doing p90x for almost a year now. We hate it…but we love it! I’m over the 40 mark now but I’m in better shape than I’ve been in for 20 years. Now, I’m training for my first marathon. Thanks guys.

I have been doing p90x for 6 weeks I have not lost any weight. I feel stronger> I have been eating salads and chicken tuna and turkey really watching what i eat. I am wondering why I am not losing weight. can anyone help me
Hello Rose,
it could be that you are gaining muscle which can off set any fat loss. Some people don’t start to see results until week 8, so it could just be taking you a wile. People who start out on the heavier side tend to see results a little sooner than those who don’t have much weight to lose and who want to just get into great shape. Stick with it and keep going!!!

I would have to agree with the comments about P90X+, the videos lack the crispness of the P90X and in some parts look very hastily put together.
For noobs, I would just stick to P90X and if you graduate from that then perhaps move on to some strength training. I wished Tony would put a video together for strength training which can be done at home with just dumbells/bands and maybe a weight bench for those looking to move beyond P90X results.
I do love P90X though…Like others have mentioned, I hate late night informacials but this product actually worked for me!
“Do your best and forget the rest!”

I will be completing my first round of p90x in 3 weeks and want to keep it going…i would like to incorporate something new. I was considering p90x plus but from the reviews, I’m beginning to wonder if i should just save my money. Do any of you guys recommend “Insanity” workouts as my next level or should I do another round of p90x, (considering I am still modifying moves). I was in good shape when I started this program and am in great shape now. I just don’t want to plateau. What do you guys think?

I began the P90X program since April 2009. After round one, and a weight loss of 22 lbs. I was extremely pleased with my gains in strength and muscle definition. I made the mistake of buying P90X Plus for my second round and immediately injured my low back. Looking back, I simply was not yet fit enough and did not have the core strength to do the Plus safely. After 3 rounds of P90X, I gave the Plus another try, and was very pleasantly surprised. It seemed like a different program entirely than I recalled. I have since done two rounds using the Plus workouts and find the dvd’s very challenging and have increased my definition and strength markedly. The PLUS workouts are very synergistic, recruiting core muscles on nearly every movement, and at a rapid pace that provides cardio and endurance training unlike anything I have tried. Now that I’ve done the program twice, I recently added a 12 lbs. weight vest, something I would not have dreamed I could do after my first round. If you are ready for this workout, I would give it a try. My only negative comment is the Kenpo dvd, which I never use because it is not challenging enough for me.

I was an avid weightlifter for about 20 years or so, going to the gym religiously about 4 times a week. My wife talked me into trying P90x with her last year and I was hooked. Now, mind you, I do not follow the meal plan as I do like to enjoy life and I love my beer and wine. So I will never have the “ripped” body that P90 advocates. That’s OK, I really couldn’t care less as I am happily married and my wife still thinks I’m hot. What I can say is that I’m in the best shape of my life due to the P90x system and that says a lot. I’ve never been a “fat body” but when I started P90x, it kicked my ass. Now that I’ve been doing it for a few cycles, it’s still challenging but not so bad. I can keep up with Tony and his cohorts no problem. My wife got me P90x plus for Christmas and while it is new and moderately challenging, I have to say it is a little disappointing. I agree with some of the above comments that it seems hastily put together and I hope Tony got a fat paycheck from Bowflex for pushing their adjustable weights. I would love to see another supplemental video system focusing more on weights and less on cardio. I’m not complaining though, I’m very happy being able to work out at home and avoid driving to the gym. It has improved my quality of life and without a doubt, I do not miss the idiot gym rats and primma donnas at the local gym. Thank you, Tony Horton and keep up the good work.

It’s funny how people latch on to one thing that they like and are unwilling to adapt. Kudos everyone on finishing P90X, hopefully you “brought it” the whole time. With that being said, the supplemental workouts that P90X+ offer are hands down MORE intense and MORE difficult that what most of P90X offers. The moves in these videos are WHOLE BODY SYNERGISTIC EXERCISES, which requires more balance, more strength and more dedication to master. PLUS, your pushed to “keep pushing” until the timer runs out for each exercise, so there’s no stopping when you get tired. If you’re quitting the exercise early, you’re doing it wrong, period. Also, the workouts are shorter but the downtime between sets are non existent so you have less time to rest and recover. Basically you’re packing more in with less time. While frustrating at first, if you consider it part of the challenge of adapting to a new workout, you’ll be in the new “rhythm” of P90X+ before you know it, you just have to try. I mean this is the core “belief” of P90X anyway right? Do your best and forget the rest… Guess what, YOU’LL IMPROVE. So stop complaining about the new “weird” things that Tony and crew are doing in “PLUS” and realize that he’s try to get you to adapt. Work through it, and you’ll be happy you did. P90X+ is a great supplement to P90X.
