504489_chiseled_absThe Core Synergistics workout is an excellent workout that often gets overlooked for its impact. Variety keeps this one interesting and pretty darn difficult. You don’t get to this particular core workout until week 4 of the program but trust me, if you have a sick sense of pleasure like I do: You will love it!

 

P90X Core Synergistics is an excellent 60 minute workout designed to strengthen the core muscles of your body. Your “core” includes all of the muscles along the trunk of your body. This means that your abs and back are certainly part of the core. This core workout will also engage your glutes and your shoulders as well.

 

We use our core muscles daily, they hold us upright for heaven’s sake. A strong core can improve more than your overall appearance, it can literally change the way you move.

 

You know a workout is hard when the fitness buffs on the DVD are grunting their way through the moves at the 20 minute mark. There is no doubt that this P90X core workout is tough. But, it wouldn’t be P90X if it wasn’t!

 

The program alternates between interesting push up moves to core-engaging lunges and several floor moves. Don’t for a second think that crunches are overdone here. As a matter of fact, you won’t do a single crunch. Excellent core workouts like this one recognize the importance of using all of the core muscles simultaneously.

 

Your core strength comes from engaging all of the muscles in the core. A core workout is not the same as an ab workout. You will know exactly what I mean when you wake up in the morning after your first Core Synergistics day. By the time you get to week 4 you will appreciate the muscle soreness and know that what doesn’t kill you definitely makes you stronger!
