How Do Meal Replacement Drinks Work?
There are a few high quality meal replacement drink programs on the market today. They are available to people who are looking to lose weight, but also to people who just want to save time or need an easy way of getting their nutrition “on the go”. At Extreme Body Workout, we offer Beachbody Meal Replacement Shakes, designed to give you proper nutrition and sufficient energy to carry on with your day and not slow you down.
Not all meal replacement products are created equally. Be certain to check the nutritional label to ensure the product you are getting lines up with your healthy lifestyle.
Meal replacement drinks are a lower calorie option for someone wanting to drop a few pounds. They work because they typically have fewer calories than the meal you would normally eat at that particular time. For instance, substituting the 130 calories from Beachbody meal replacement drink for a drive through breakfast could save you hundreds of calories, speeding your momentum towards your weight loss goals.
Many people don’t have time for breakfast as they rush out the door on their way to work. For them, meal replacement drinks and protein bars are a matter of convenience rather than weight loss. Grabbing a nutritionally dense meal replacement shake on your way to work is extremely easy and a way to continually fuel your body without breaking your healthy lifestyle.
Don’t think that the meal replacement drink has to be your total meal. For many of us who like to stay active, we need more to fill us up and keep us going. Without jeopardizing the low calorie nature of a meal replacement drink, you can add fresh fruit or even drink it with a simple meal like a small turkey sandwich at lunch time or egg white scramble at breakfast.

In the nutrition guide, each level has a certain number of servings in each category to consume in a day. How many servings of each category (protein, dairy, cards, etc) are in a single serving shake?
Hi Clay,
The Shakes are a big part of the recovery process and also count for a portion of your caloric intake every day. Approximately 1/6 of your caloric intake for the day will come from your shake. Pages 31 and 32 of your Nutrition Plan, tell you how many calories for each level are in your shake.

Hello Tim,
Meal replacement shakes are important for people who just don’t have the time to sit down to a regular meal. Some people may lead active lives and just can’t find the time to cook and then eat a meal. The replacement shakes give that person a chance to get all the nutrients they would normally get from a full balanced meal, right in the form of a shake. So, replacement shakes to some people are invaluable to make sure they get the nutrients their body needs, if they happen to miss a meal.
