Yeah, I know it is obvious, but how many of us know the truth and fail to live it. For me, it’s diet. I can manage what I eat, but finding the “umph” to workout is another story. I have found tricks and methods to make fitness work for me and know that others have to do the same thing. Weight loss workouts must have short term payoffs to entice me. Lately, realizing the stress reducing effects of daily exercise has been a tremendous motivator.
For others, it’s the food that poses a problem. These people may be lifelong athletes, always finding time for a workout and never dealing with that lack of motivation. For them, weight loss workouts are no sweat. It’s the food regulation that is difficult for these folks.
Regardless of your challenge in staying fit, you must find ways to cope with it. Recognizing your weaknesses and dealing with them will help you keep your health a priority for life. Weight loss workouts and diet are essential components to overall health and happiness.

I have been using chalene extreme fitness for one month and even though I have not gained weight according to my scale my pants have become very tight. I look bigger and feel bigger. What is going on???. I am very depressed about this. Should I forget strength training and just do cardio?
Hi Patty,
You may be gaining a bit more muscle but keep in mind you’re only 4 weeks into it. The big questions is, have you been following the nutrition guide? You really want to make sure that you’re eating right as well as performing the workouts, it’s absolutely crucial.

I am doing the P90X workout and am on the third day. I eat really well, am a vegetarian and I am extremely careful about my calorie intake. My concern is that maybe I am not eating enough. I do my P90X workouts, and then add the treadmill to some days. I eat about 1200-1400 calories a day. I started the P90X because I was not losing weight any more with my other workouts. Is my calorie intake to low? If I raise it will I lose weight again? I never feel hungry with what I eat. I am very frustrated.
Hello Deanna,
Chances are you probably need to up your calorie intake. I only say this because you do a little more than your average P90X user, because you add a treadmill to your workouts as well. Adding calories to your diet will ultimately give you more energy to do your workouts, which will in turn help your fat loss. You have to make sure you’re eating enough food to keep your metabolism going. Make sure you are following the Nutrition Guide (with the vegetarian substitutions of course) and you will see the extra fat start dropping in no time.
I also want you to recalculate your nutrition level on page 5 of the nutrition guide. This time, when you’re calculating your daily activity burn, up the % from 20% to 30% to accommodate the extra workouts you do on the treadmill and then you will have a better idea of what your calorie intake should be.
