Hello Allyson,

I checked out the Sonoma diet and it seems like a good balanced diet. It's hard to say if that diet will work with P90X until someone has tried it. If you already have the P90X, you can see how the nutrition plan measures up to the Sonoma diet online, as in carb/protein/fat ratios, and go from there. You want to be sure you have enough energy to get through the workouts without crashing. That's the most important thing. I know right now you can get a free 7 day trial, so maybe try it out!

I just started the P90x and like others the nutrition plan has me a little confused. I am level 2, and doing the portion control. I noticed some things werent listed such as peanut butter, can this be used as a protein? Also is there anywhere to find a larger shopping list with more choices than they one in the nutrition guide?

Thanks

Hello Jarrod,

you can use substitutions here and there or omit some ingredients if you like. It's not going to ruin your diet. You can use other lunches that are similar in nutritional values if you are following the meal plan.

Hi, Im a level 3 and I hate mushrooms. So for the Mushroom omelet, is there anything I can substitue for the mushrooms? Also, I never have any time during the day to make shrimp stir-fry. Could I use another lunch plan for that week?
Thanks!

Hello Yajaira,

if you are following the portions approach, you can eat a lot of the same foods you eat now, they just might be healthier versions. It's less about portion sizes and more about eating the right kinds of foods that will help you to lose weight while giving you energy for your workouts. I would look over the portions approach. This way is much better for a picky eater!

Hi David,

if you are buying separated egg whites in a carton, there should be a chart on the back to tell you how much liquid is equal to 6 egg whites. 1/2 of a cup is about 4-5 egg whites, but check the label to be sure.
