Hello Christine,

I am not at all telling you what to do, but 128 isn't a bad weight to be at for a 5'5", 37 year old female. At this point I would focus on building strength. You have three weeks left, so just keep doing what you have been doing but try and bring it up a notch. Building muscle helps your body to burn fat.

There isn't much I can recommend for your diet because of your condition, but try and eat clean and try to keep the carbs on the lower side.

I'm 37 years old (female) and am on by 10 th week of the classic program. So far I've lost 10 lbs, but I have been at a stand still for a few weeks. I am 5' 5" and currently 126-128, I would like to get down between 118-120. I take synthroid for an under active thyroid so this is most likely a contributing factor. I also suffer from chronic stomach inflammation so I eat very plain so I do not aggravate it. Any suggestions to help me drop this last bit of weight?
Thanks.

Hello Christine,

before I try and assume I know what's going on here, let me ask you a few questions:

What was your starting weight? About how many calories did you consume daily before you started and how many have you been consuming on the program? Do you use the chin-up bar and heavier weights? What was your activity levels like before P90X? Do you use a body fat tester? Did you lose any inches anywhere?

Skipping meals can slow your metabolism down and could have adverse effects on your results, but why do you give me a little more info and I can try and help you make sense of things!

I need help!!! I'm on my seventh week of p90x and have gained 15 pounds. For the first 4 weeks I skipped breakfast and went straight to my workout. Was that a bad idea? Now, I eat at least an apple or a banana before my workouts. What should I do?

Hello Cheyenne,

results do vary because we all start out a different levels. If you are persistent, you will see a change. Will you look like the people in the infomercials? It's possible, but you might have to do a couple rounds because they may have started out in better shape. If you go from not working out to working out for at least an hour every day and eating better than you normally do, you will see results, no matter how fit you are when you start.

I'm 30 years old, 5'10" and weigh 315 lbs. I know I have to take this at my own pace, but most of the people you show before and after pics of weren't nearly as over weight as I am. Will doing this at my own rate even give me results??? Please let me know.

Hello Derek,

instead of spreading your meals out, which can cause your metabolism to slow, eat healthy, properly portioned foods more often. You should be eating every 2-4 hours, fitting in 3 meals and 2 snacks per day. This will help to speed up your metabolism and wont leave you starving when it's time for your next meal.

Of course, this may be tough for you with your schedule. Because you work the night shift, focus on the hours you are asleep and the times most people eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Before work be sure to have a meal, have a snack a few hours later, have a meal on your lunch break, another snack before you leave work, and a meal when you get home. Maybe you can carry protein bars in your pocket and take a minute to have a snack.

Not everyone has the typical 9-5, so you just have to do your best to eat as healthy as you can, as often as you can. Don't worry about results just yet, it's still early! Keep focused on your goal and be sure to document your progress.

Hello Carrie,

you are right about needing more calories. If you can figure out how many more calories you burn with each daily run, you can add that figure to the formula they give you in the nutrition plan to get a more accurate number in terms of how many calories you should be eating to allow your body to burn body fat. There is a part of the formula where you add 600 calories for your P90X workout, so you can just add the calories burned from running to that number. This formula is located in your nutrition plan around page 10 or 11.
