		<description>Hi Christian,

Your diet is often a cause of water retention. Sodium is a huge culprit when it comes to water weight. Salt in the body actually retains fluids, so try and steer clear of foods high in sodium. Sugar can play a part in this too. Too much sugar can raise your insulin levels which decreases your body&#039;s ability to get rid of sodium, which we already mentioned, will cause your body to retain fluids.

There are many foods that can help reduce water retention. Fruits high in potassium, such as bananas, and green vegetables high in magnesium. Calcium rich foods such as orange juice and yogurt can also help alleviate to bloating. It may sound crazy, but keeping your body hydrated by drinking plenty of water will help flush out sodium and excess fluids.
