Chalean Extreme: Burn, Push, Lean Phases


cha4There are three phases to the Chalean Extreme program. Each phase lasts thirty days and takes your fitness and body transformation further. These three phases work together to ensure you keep progressing. There is no time for plateaus here, Chalean Extreme will have you consistently changing, tightening, and toning your body into the one you have always wanted.

 

The three phases of Chalean Extreme are the Burn phases, the Push phase, and the Lean phase. These 90 days make up the basis of the entire program. While Chalene does include a final maintenance phase called “Lean for Life”, the three main phases with get you through the 90 day body transformation.

 
The Burn Phase is your introduction to the Chalean Extreme program. By introduction I don’t mean a walk in the park, get your feet wet kind of introduction. With Chalean Extreme, you jump right into the hard work. The Burn Phase of the program teaches you how to lift heavy, lift slow, and lift to failure. What this means is you are pushing your muscles as far as they will go, until they nearly “fail” you. This is the key to dramatic muscle growth and that super-speed metabolism.

 

The second phase of the program is the Push Phase. You will move from reaching failure at 10 to 12 reps (as in the Burn Phase) to reaching failure at 6 to 8 reps. This means you will be lifting significantly heavier weights. This is the phase where you really learn what “lift slow and lift heavy” means. During this phase you will focus all of your attention on one muscle group at a time, ensuring the dramatic Chalean Extreme results.

 

The Lean Phase works to burn off that extra fat, the fat that is hiding your newly chiseled and developed muscles. Here you will work your entire body with moves that increase strength but also improve balance and coordination.

 

These three phases of the Chalean Extreme program are essential to getting the results you want and the results as seen from the test group. Dramatic results require hard work and lifting like this is no joke. While you may not be accustomed to strength training this much, you will easily adapt when your body starts to respond.

    do you need to buy weights too, or can you use resistant bands?

    Hello Helen,

    The choice is completely yours but here are some reasons why I use resistance bands.

    Resistance bands have a unique way of working out your muscles; different from those of a dumbbell, and the difference is what makes resistance bands so great. Unlike dumbbells, bands have the ability to provide resistance through your whole motion, resistance that will challenge muscles you normally would not challenge with a normal dumbbell set. There are also literally hundreds of workouts you can do with resistant bands that will provide your upper body with great strength, you can also do exercises with your legs too. No only do they workout your muscles better, but they are also less expensive and easy to travel with. Have you ever gone on a business trip, wanting to take your dumbbells with you but could not because they are just too heavy to pack? Well with resistance bands you do not have to worry about weight and they will fit in just about anything, so you can continue your routine where ever you go. No matter how fit or strong you are, there is a resistant band for you. There are many wide varieties of bands that you can use. So if you have hit some plateau with your workout, try switching to resistance bands to get out of that plateau.

    I love the resistance bands as welll! However, in the pictures on Chalenes ads it shows weights, are the resistance bands going to work with the chalene extreme workout? Does she show each excercise with both the bands and the dumbells? I am just wondering if she uses the weights in her videos how I would do the same excercise with the bands as I would think that some excercise this may be difficult.

    Hi Helen,

    The bands can be used with the ChaLEAN Extreme and they are shown being used in the video. The woman using the bands will tell you that they are a great resistance tool and they work just as good, if not better, than dumbbells.

    you could try them both out, or you can work with what you have. They both have pro’s and con’s, so it’s all about what you are more comfortable with.
