I am 52, 50 lbs overweight, diabetic, have osteoarthritis on my back. My daughter has encouraged me to try these exercises. I worry about any possible damage to my back with the squats and lunges. I did get the okay from my doctor to exercise. I went from being sedentary to lifting weights and it seems too extreme a start for me. Am I wrong?

Probably not. Listen to your body. Working out with back issues can be tricky. Especially heavy weight lifting. You might want to try something more cardio based first. Check out the Turbo Jam at the following link:

Becareful with Turbo Jam and your back! There is a lot of twisting and bending and can cause problems with your back. Use Total Body Solutions for your lower back to strengthen. I notice a huge difference when I use this every other day…when I stop, I have more pain! Good luck!
