Who Is Tony Horton?

When you see someone like Tony Horton in action you immediately assume that he has great pre-disposition for a buff body. You might be quick to think that “bringing it” has always come easy for Tony. The truth is that Tony Horton had to work for that beach body just like the rest of us. Like many kids, Tony grew up loving fast food and dreading exercise. Horton was a typical bony “weakling” and probably never thought he would bring a fitness phenomenon like Power 90 or P90X to the world. Not even interested in sports, being a fitness icon was never at the front of Horton’s mind.

One thing Tony did like was acting, so no one was surprised when Horton moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream after graduating from the University of Rhode Island. He quickly realized in Los Angeles, it pays to be fit. That’s when Tony’s quest for fitness began. Horton joined the famous World Gym in Venice and began transforming his body. Studious by nature, Tony read books and asked questions of the pros at the gym gaining insight into what would one day become his own claim to fame.

Preferring a lean strong look to the stiff compact body builder image, Tony Horton stuck to activities that would improve his cardiovascular fitness while giving him the flexible streamlined but muscular look he desired. As Tony transformed his body dramatically, he also started transforming his life and outlook. People noticed!

It was the attention Horton got from his personal transformation that led him to become a sought after personal trainer. Tony Horton has trained celebrities such as Sean Connery, Tom Petty, and Shirley MacLaine, to name a few. His on camera work began when he represented the face of the Nordic Track in the late 1990s. Following that he transformed the cast of the action film The 13th Warrior, creating bodies worthy of the “warrior” title.

Amidst all of the attention, Tony met Carl Daikeler, CEO of Beachbody. The two immediately recognized the potential for a life changing relationship and joined forces. Since that time, Tony Horton, has gone on to create some of the most successful at home fitness programs available.

Power 90: The first in the P90 series, Power 90 Boot Camp brought easy to incorporate but high powered 30 minute workouts to people craving better health around the world.

P90X: For those who wanted to really “bring it”, P90X was developed as the ramped up, intense progression from the original Power 90. The workouts and nutrition plan push people to really encounter their fitness limits and push past them in a successful effort to get ripped!

P90X+ : Yet another step into peak physical performance, P90X Plus pushes graduates of the P90X series past new plateaus. In P90X+new driving music and more intense workouts send even the physically fit into higher levels of athletic performance.

10 Minute Trainer: Capitalizing on the busy fast-paced lifestyle of many modern adults, Tony developed 10 Minute Trainer to get people moving and fit in just 10 minutes a day. By stacking cardio, toning, and body sculpting, no time is wasted and transformations are on the horizon.

Taking what changed his life, combining his winning attitude and the dream that propels all of the products that carry the Tony Horton name, Tony has become the face that thousands associate with their fitness success. Through hard work and dedicated passion, Tony has realized his own dream and continues to lead others to reach theirs.

Why Can't I Lose Weight?

We all find ourselves asking the question, “Why can’t I lose weight?” at different points in our life. Logically most of us realize that no fad or gimmick will give us the results we need. We know this because we have tried them all or seen someone close try them. We’ve fallen victim to the empty promises and unrealistic standards of health and beauty.

Taking the step to turn what we already know into a successful weight loss and health plan is another story. It is a journey that requires hard work and determination. It requires a shift in your mind—a shift that causes you to stop seeing every weight loss attempt as a diet and more of a lifestyle change. It can be hard to make this shift when you’re discouraged and unhappy with your body. One step at a time, though, you can find your inner health and create confidence and vitality you have never seen before.

Losing weight is a simple mathematical equation. Your calories in must be less than your calories out. This means that throughout the day you must create a caloric deficit. How you create that deficit is key. Many fads and gimmicks focus on calories in or calories out but fail to combine them. The problem with this is that it is near impossible to maintain these drastic measures when quality fitness and nutrition are not used in conjunction with one another.

It is not healthy or realistic in the long term to drastically cut your calories. Some diet plans have people consuming calories at levels that don’t even meet the daily minimum for humans. Our bodies require a certain number of calories every day to function at a healthy level. When you go below this level you may lose weight but will be unable to keep it off due to your inability to maintain the extreme calorie cut.

So the answer to the question “Why can’t I lose weight?” is healthy eating habits paired with a regular exercise routine. Because many of us have not been taught what exactly this means or how to go about combining the two, we turn to tools created to teach us how to treat our bodies in a way that will result in optimal health, physical fitness, and ultimately weight loss.

When you make a decision to change how you treat your body it is important to have a coach, a motivator, and a plan. Not all fitness plans are created equally. In order to maintain success you should select one that pushes your body and provides tools to create a healthy nutrition plan as well. Also important and maybe even more so in the effort to stick with a plan, is that it is enjoyable.

Exercise programs that combine hard work and fun will keep you motivated and keep you coming back even when the motivation isn’t there. Programs like Hip Hop Abs and Turbo Jam get you pumped through modern music you’re used to hearing at dance clubs. Making your workouts fun is vital in continued success.

By fueling your body with high quality nutrition and keeping it youthful and fit through a fun and effective exercise plan, you are well on your way to a lifetime of health and fitness and the dreaded question of “Why can’t I lose weight?” will be a thing of the past.

You don’t want any of this to end. But now you’re starting to wonder, what do I do next?  Where can I go from here?

First of all, if you want to keep the level you have reached at the end of the P90X training, you will need to continue to make exercise and eating healthy a part of your daily life. If you don’t, you will start to lose the level of fitness you worked so hard to gain. That’s the thing about fitness—once you have reached a certain level you’re not just going to stay there forever. If you liked some of the P90X routines better than others or if you just know that your body will continue to have some of the same problem areas, you can modify any of the workouts and continue to use them. If you’re creative, you may even be able to take some of the workouts and add some new moves and exercises of your own. If you continue to eat right as well, this should keep you pretty much at the pinnacle you’ve reached.

But now you can also do one better. The same fitness experts who created the P90X have done it again! We’re offering a brand new set of workouts based on the same theory of muscle confusion—P90X Plus the next levelYou get five all new video workouts in P90X Plus (P90X+): Interval X Plus, Kenpo Cardio Plus, Upper Plus, Abs/Core Plus, and Total Body Plus. All of them work together to enhance the work you have already done. If you achieved great results with P90X, then you are ready to go on to an altogether different plane with the P90X Plus workout.

The music really rocks. All the brand new moves and never-before-seen workouts are set to hot music specially created by Jason Scheff, lead singer of the band, Chicago. Jason really knows what he’s doing and how you feel because he wrote this new music while he was completing his first round of P90X. He knows exactly what you have already gone through and he created a sound track that will really take you to the next level.

At first, you wondered what to expect from P90X—were you going to be able to get through it? Would it have the intensity you imagined?  Now you know. The P90X didn’t let you down so if they say the P90X Plus is even more intense, it’s must be. Check it out!
