Hi!! I am about to order P90X to start sometime in January and was wondering if I would be able to handle it. I am currently doing the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred each morning with an extra hour of cardio in the evening. I am toned and in shape, but is that enough for P90X? I am in my second 30 day cycle with Jillian right now, and will have completed 3 cycles before I start P90X. Thanks!!

Hello Tony and staff,

I am a 43 yr. old female, 5'2 and only 105 lbs. I am looking forward to starting the P90 workout soon. I would really like to focus my attention on building up my legs, thighs, butt and abdomen muscles. Unfortunately, I do not know exactly how to tackle these areas of interest. However, I am not looking forward to losing weight. My goal is to gain weight (15 lb.) and build muscles. However, I do not want to build up upper body muscle. It seems like whenever I worked out in the past my upper body seemed to develop more rapidly than those areas of interest I mentioned earlier. End results were not satisfying. Would you please point me in the right path to success??? I can only hope to achieve this with your support.

Now in respect to the resistance band. Do I really need the whole resistance band kit for starters of what? Can I just purchase them later or does the P90 require all of them for my workout now?

Thank you in advance!

EE

PS Your program looks and sounds promising and I cannot emphasize enough my eagerness to start BRINGING IT ON!!!!

I haven't read much about age recommendations in your posts. I am 48, 5'10" and 230 lbs. I am at a moderate fitness level and play hockey once a week. I would like to get a program that both my wife and I can do together to burn fat and lose inches. Building cardio stamina certainly couldn't hurt either. Which program would you recommend for someone my age and fitness level?

My husband and I are both 50 and have been doing p90X for 7 months with great results. We both love the workouts. Time is a problem, would the power half hour keep us in shape?

My wife and I are toying with the idea of p90x or Power 90. After reading alot of the posts here it looks like Power 90 is more for us at this point. Neither of us have EVER worked out. We are overweight and out of shape but not obese, i dont think. I am 34, 5,9 and 210. Most of my weight is in my waist and chest area. I am wondering if the fact that I have never worked out and built any kind of muscle, will I still be able to see results? I am skeptical mainly due to lack of knowledge of workouts and nutrition. I would like to get the weight off and define some muscles too. I am not too interested in bulk but wouldnt argue if it happened. I just dont know enough about Physical Fitness to feel good about the investment. Would you comment on my position?

Hi,
I am in my second week of P90X. Before P90X I did Plyo legs from the master series on Mondays Core Cardio on Tuesdays and the remaining days I did cycling for at least 90 minutes a day...lots of intervals and resistance. Over the summer I had some time off and most days was able to put in at least an additional hour of cycling everyday (avg mph 18-20) and was riding up to 200 miles per week. Most weeks, since June, I was exercising for 18-20 hours a week. My workouts were tough and I used core cardio and plyo legs as "rest days". My concern is that P90X is a drastic drop in the # of hours spent exercising and I am concerned about weight gain. My diet is clean and I am conscious of what I eat and why I am eating it. I have dropped my calorie intake while on P90X but have already seen the scale rise by 4lbs in 10 days of P90X. I like the program but I am concerned about the drop in exercise and potential weight gain. Any suggestions/thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi,
I just started with P90x, and it's killing me! ha ha ha. Today is only my third day and even though i'm enthused about it, my body is aching so bad that i'm wondering if i'll be able to finish. I've already done chest & back, finished the whole thing, some moves where very hard but I did everything on the video, some 30, 25, 15, 10 reps and in one particular move could only achieve 6, but finished the whole hour. Ab RipperX was the toughest ab workout i've done ever! was able to do 222 reps... and Plyo almost killed me....seriously that's some hard stuff there, but was able to do all the moves all the reps, even though i modified most of the moves it was still challenging!

Is it normal to feel this pain all over? i want to keep pushing play! need a little support over here....

Thanx L

I'm interested in buying the Power 90 set. I have a belly that is not tight and I am wondering if I purchase the Power 90 and do everything right and finish it, will I be toned in the stomach and have tight abs?

I can now comment on my own question (#69 above). Yes, Power 90 is a MUCH better fit for those of us who have been sedentary and may be more out of shape than P90X. The exercise periods are only 30 minutes a day and rotate between sculping (weightwork) and cardio/abs. If you are a masochist and more coordinated than I or ready for a very intense workout go P90X. If you are looking to get back into working out and want to start off at a lower intensity, go Power 90.

Just FYI, I got my Power 90 DVDs last week and love them.

I am debating weather I should try the p90x program or the ChaLean program. I am looking to drop about 30 lbs. I did pass the fit test for p90x, but wasnt sure if that or the other program would be the best way to drop pounds fast.

Just about my entire family have done P90X and love it (and seen great results) so I figured I would give it a shot myself. I was planning on starting the full program next week with my wife and as prep tried the KenpoX workout but found myself quitting 15 minutes in due to the complexity of the moves. I prefer more weight work and less of that multi-movement kickboxing/cardio. I can handle a little bit of the cardio stuff, but alot of it just frustrates me. Would Power 90 be a better fit?

My husband and I are on the 6th day of week one. We are doing the p90x classic. If our main goal is to lose weight and get lean should we be doing the p90x lean program or should we just stick to what we are doing. Thanks, Dana
