Hello,

I am about the start my 5th week of p90x and i am going to do the doubles workout... would it be ok for me to do the cardio x in the pm and the other dvd in the am? or does the cardio x dvd have to be in the am?

Hello Taylor,

if you have the time to do doubles and you need that boost the first time around, you can certainly start with doubles.

Hey,

I'm just starting p90x and I'd like to start losing the fat more. Should I start out with the classic for the first 90 days or can I go straight to the doubles?

Thanks,
Taylor

Hello Vimal,

it's normal to have trouble staying motivated. Especially when you have so many other things going on in your life. Your best bet is to get a workout buddy or start a blog, or follow someone else's blog, and schedule your workout into your daily routine. This way you wont be interfering with anything else going on if your workout has it's own time slot in your busy schedule.

As far as the nutrition plan, there is a different approach written right in the book, it's the portions approach. It's basically a list of allowed foods and a chart to tell you how much of each food group to eat. This is much easier than the meal plans.

The Paleolithic diet might be too extreme for this workout. You do need some complex carbs for energy. You can always come up with your own diet using the ideas from a couple plans. Follow that other diet for the most part, adding in come complex carbs you will need for the workouts.

Hello,

I did the program for 33 days and then stopped, then I did most of Phase 2, and then I stopped again. That was months ago and after that I have been doing 1-3 muscle workouts per week. Next week after my final exams finish (university), I will go back to P90X. I am going to start from Phase 3 as I have never attempted it. I have to admit, I have trouble staying motivated and feel tired after doing the workouts. Is this normal?

My question is regarding the nutrition guide: Is there a condensed version of the nutrition guide anywhere? Perhaps a list of key foods recommended for this program (fish, poultry, veggies, fruits, nuts, etc.)?

And what is your take on the paleolithic diet specifically for this program?

Thank you,

-Vimal

Hello Andy,

ideally, if you do doubles, you should wait a few hours in between workouts. BUT, we all have different lifestyles and different schedules so doing your second workout right after your first would be ok. Keeping your body going will still give you a boost when it comes to burning calories.

Hello Jordan,

running after your workout would be similar to the doubles approach. With doubles, you would wait a while before starting your second workout. I think running afterwards can give your results a little boost. You are keeping your body active a little longer, burning some extra calories all while winding down from your workout. Be sure to slow your pace down at the end of your 30 minutes all the way down to a walk.

I'm a respiratory therapists, and I work 12 hour shifts 3 days a week (sometimes 4 if I need the overtime). I don't have a set schedule (example, work every Mon. Tue Wed.) I just work on the days I am needed most. I have a good habit of going to bed early so I can wake up early enough to workout and make it to work on time. I really want to amp up my P90X workouts by adding doubles to my routine, but the last thing I want to do after work is exercise (hence why I workout in the morning). I have a few questions on when to do Cardio X in my routine:

1: Can I jump right into the next dvd immedietly after Cardio X?

2: If no, then how many hours should I wait before jumping into the next workout?

3: If I'm off week 5 on the day I do cardio, chest shoulders triceps, ab ripper x, but have to work that day the next week and have off on my plyometrics day, and I move the cardio workout to my plyo day?
