Hello Jay,

you can add muscle weight with this program, but how much is hard to say. Classic would be the approach you would be best off with if you want to add mass. Doubles is actually more for those who would like to either improve performance (cardiovascular wise) or for those who want to lose more weight. You can always do other activities along side of P90X, but I can't really say what your results will be.

Hi Alicia,

16 pounds is a reasonable goat that you can certainly reach with this program. If weight loss is you main goal, go with the lean approach. Extra cardio is often added to the P90X workouts. Add it where you feel you have the extra energy to do more.

I am 29 years old and would like to loose 16 lbs. I would love to loose the weight within 3 months. For me to achieve my goals, would you recommend doing the classic or lean version of P90X? Also I own an elliptical, and would like to incorporate it in my routine instead of the day of stretch. What do you think?

Hey Mike and other various staff members. I'm 17, weigh in at 126-130, but am a fit individual, and I lift weights at my school for an hour and a half a day, aswell as go for runs, and am interested in getting into Muay Thai Boxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I haven't been taking any supplements, but my goal is to gain a moderate amount of muscle mass. I want to bring my weight up to at least 140-145, and I was just curious as to if the P90X Classic would be able to do that for me. And if I decided to do P90X Doubles, what the different results might be. And what your thoughts were as to me doing weight training/martial arts aswell as the P90X program.

Thanks for your time,
Jay.

Hello Kathy,

be sure to take it easy when you start back up, and more importantly, make sure your doctor gives you the OK to exercise in this manner.

If you can't get fat free or at least low fat (1 or 2%) dairy, work with what you have! Not everyone's diet is going to be absolutely perfect, and two servings of full fat dairy isn't going to completely ruin your results.

My husb and I are starting this together. After about 30 days I will be having surgery, with 3 weeks of rest. Can I join him when my rest period is up? He will obviously be pushing harder than me. Also about nutrition. Fat free dairy products are nearly impossible to find where I live. What should we do?

Hello Nick,

it is better to work out at the same time every day. This way your body is always ready to go. Extra cardio would be great to add to your resistance days. Preferably around the same time each day, but do the best you can with your busy schedule.

Hi Cole,

the focus of the lean approach is to lose weight and burn fat. You will still tone muscle, but there is much less resistance training involved with this approach.

After phase 3, the goal is to be slimmer.

I just finished week 1 of p90x classic. Unfortunetly, as a student with a full time job my workout schedule varies from day to day. Some days I don't workout till 11:00pm. Should I wake up extra early to get my workout in at the same time every day. Also, I would like to start running again. When should I supplemet my workouts with running; every day/every other day/not at all? Thanks

And this is my last question, i noticed that the phase one of classic and phase one of doubles workout schedule is exactle the same, but in phase two in doubles thats when u start doing cardio to, now since i already completed phase one of classic, and it being the same as the doubles first phase, is it okay if i just start doing doubles in phase two so i can get more cardio in?

I should have read all of your posts first!!! Stick with classic if you want to add mass. You probably should keep the rest/stretch day as is, but you can always add cardio X to a resistance day like in the doubles approach.
